Personally I am now not buying the dlc and will probably trade the game - thus losing bungie sales. This is because they are deleting our exotic progress on Tuesday and forcing us all to start from scratch if we want our exotics to be practical moving forward.
Who else is now spending their money elsewhere and giving up the game?
Many are complaining about the time it will take to re-level exotics. No no no no no. I've spent hours upgrading my exotics but doing that again is NOT MY COMPLAINT!
The problem is that our effort has literally been deleted because you do not need to have levelled the gun in order to evolve it to the next level.
If you needed your gun to be fully levelled before you could upgrade it i would actually be excited for this as the added power would mean we could finish the strikes faster
They have done it this way so that new players can immediately catch up with those further in the game. I have a couple of un-levelled exotics (bad juju, last word, truth, and that crappy bounty machine gun) and I'm glad I never spent the time to level them! This is not right
This is what we need to complain about: Bungie need to make it so that a weapon has to be fully upgraded before we can increase the level like this. One voice people!
Edit: because some people failed reading comprehension, let me state that of course I know that nobody is holding a gun to our heads making us upgrade, but if we want our guns to remain practical to use we will need to do this, even if not immediately.

I completely agree with you. I spend months gathering all 20 exotics and get them all maxed out to have an advantage over others. I love that we can bring the exotics to a new level, gives me a new purpose when the DLC is out but others should not be able to just skip all the work I did, that's not fair at all!

2 通の返信They're not forcing a reset on anything it's optional. Attack Rating only makes a difference in raid and Iron Banner.

Bungie will not give a flying fuk in your protest against the changes and threats to leave. They have all the money they need. I don't play it so much so don't feel your pain, but majority of people on here seem split over many issues. Destiny is a marmite game.

7 通の返信U don't have to upgrade ur weapons lol, that's no real reason to leave the game and if you were going to you wouldn't b on this forum, but honestly no one really cares if u leave tbh. Anyway all guns that are traded in will start from 300 attack so if you trade in your gun it will still have the same damage, you just need to upgrade it to get to the 323 attack damage, which only takes about 2 or 3 days depending on your skill and willingness.

2 通の返信They are not deleting your exotic progress! It is optional! Don't get me wrong, I hate how Bungie is doing this, but you won't lose anything unless you wish to "re-upgrade" your weapon. Where the debate now falls is that some are saying that its damage level won't return to its original starting point, but instead begin leveling up starting from 300 up to 323 (can't remember the exact number). If this turns out to be true, I won't mind...

2 通の返信The issue is new players will know no better. When they boot it up for the first time on Xmas ect it will seem normal having not been through what is we have played through. So we will slowly fall to the background as the new players arrive and state "not that big a deal, I wasn't here before so it doesn't bother me ect"

Just heard about the change. I dunno. Would make sense if you trade in a maxed out weapon, you get a maxed out weapon back. Really, I'm more frustrated with raid drops. Can't get a Vex Mytho or Ghally or even a VOC. Meh. Gots me a ton of sparrows tho...

To be honest, I really think that this update might cost them a large portion of the player base. What is the point in working on exotic weapons now, when you just have to re grind them every few months when a new DLC drops and they pull the same stunt.

What pisses me off is they are making up their lack of content with making restart all are upgrades on exotics. THE GOOD THING. When we trade in are exotics they start at 300 attack. We then re level all the perks. IM FINE WITH THIS BUT. Needing so much xp for each upgrade is the problem. Every bounty with a telemetry on an exotic gets you 1.75 upgrades. There are 13 upgrades. If all you do is bounties it will take 7+ days. THAT WE ALREADY -blam!-ING SPENT. I have somewhere around 9 days played. If say about 8.4 days have been played doing bounties and getting xp for my exotics so thanks bungie for letting me waste 8.4 days of my life for you to take it away because you can't make enough content to keep us occupied so what you do is you make us have to redo everything WEVE ALREADY -blam!-ING DONE. To do the stuff your putting in the game. Good job.

1 返信Considering how much I love this game, this is my very first eyebrow raise at the way the game is. I'll wait to judge, but if a brand new Suros with zero Xp is now worth the same as a fully upgraded one (18 energies sunk) to Xur I will be annoyed to the nth. To just wipe progress screams Grindy This move shows that their changes will make previous progress obsolete, therefore the grind just got tenfold less appealing. Not as into grinding if my progression overall becomes meaningless with future updates. If my progress means I have a head start, then go ahead and wipe it. But now, all 267 exotics are equal to 300 exotics, and that is totally wrong.
-
You really want to have to level up a new exotic TWICE to get the best of it? Remember that not every exotic you want to upgrade is going to be maxed and that Xur isnt going to be upgrading it every week. I don't like the current idea but yours is much worse.

There are so many angry people posting. The truth is, they will probably all play anyway. Just like the ones who "have already quit" yet continue to post on the game forums (which is kind of like recovering alcoholics frequenting bars and griping to the drunks who are trying to get their drink on). So, every change is likely to lose some people, but all in all they probably didn't burn much money. (Not making a point here about exotic trade-ins, simply what I said.)
-
Not that it will likely do any good, but you are correct about the progression system. I'm not going to ditch the game, but it is a negative for people who have played the game for a significant period of time. It is likely too late for them to change it for this DLC. I suspect they waited this late for notification, since they had to be smart enough to know the reaction was going to be largely negative from players who had significant time invested. I would not have complained at all if the exotic needed to be fully leveled to current max before trade in. At least, I would feel like we were getting some credit and not resetting. Why should I have to trade in my fully leveled Icebreaker or any other for that matter and get the same "new" version that someone can get that very same week from a nightfall drop or Xur purchase? Obviously, as you stated, they are just looking out for potential new players. I guess we can just hope that our weapons will not be reset again with the next DLC.

Another thread just to tantrum about how other people will be playing the game. It does not matter in any way except for the terminally petty reasons we see regurgitated by this type of player. #emptythreats #ohthedrama

3 通の返信I'm getting a little tired of the game now to be honest, I've been playing almost since day one and I've enjoyed the game and regard it is a great game. I don't think I'll be picking up the DLC now (not just because of the exotic debacle), I just find myself putting too much time in to the game when I could be doing other things. Still got Halo MCC and Assassins Creed Unity, maybe Dragon Age if I decide to buy it. I'll probably be back in a few weeks/months to see how things are going
