If this is going to be the new system, it needs to be changed IMMEDIATELY. STOP with the grindfest and artificially padding playtime. Just make the game fun and the story engaging. THAT is what we all want.
*Edit - And only having Xur exchange some of the weapons each time is ANOTHER BS mechanic to pad playtime. Enough with this shit.
*Edit 2 - To fix it, they just need to add 1-3 upgrade nodes to existing exotics to level them up from 300 to 330 or whatever.
*Edit 3 - DeeJ - there is no miscommunication, we just really hate this fuking change. It needs to die.
*Edit 4 - I am well aware no one is "forcing" us to upgrade. I read the updates. The point is that if you want to remain competitive in end game content (raid/nightfall/iron banner) then you will HAVE to upgrade. You just will. If you don't, you will be at a major disadvantage. Ever done the current hard raid without maxed weapons? Its terrible.
*Edit 5 - Will those few of you defending the reset or saying you don't mind still feel that way when you have to do it all over again when DLC #2 comes out in a few months?

I dont see the problem. Is like doing prestige mode in COD. The base damage of the gun is a little more than 300. Every one wants their current equipment to be relevant, well this is the way. Im looking foward to the new exotics, if i want some of the old to be better ill just put some time in to it. Now with the new exchange of marks for materials will be even easier.

2 通の返信You really thought the weapons/gear you got during the first three months of the game were going to end up being the most powerful items available? That's pretty stupid. P.S. — Who is this "we" I always here you whiners referring to? All I see is one kid (let's be honest, you're a kid) throwing a tantrum.

3 通の返信I dont like the exotic reset either, but all i see in this thread is you being a bitch whenever someone has a different opinion. Grow up, let your junk drop an inch or two, be a man, and stop whining when someone doesnt agree with you.

1 返信*I may take some flak for this but I will say it anyway* When expansions hit, we are given a "refresher", to some players it is not very fun to max out a game and just continue on that way. After a while, the game gets stale and people will stop playing. In fact, people have stopped playing for this reason already. In an effort to keep the game fun and fresh for everyone, they have stirred up those players that just don't want to put in more effort. I suggest that you simply go with it, it will give you more reason to play the game that you obviously care for. I mean, it's either that or you just stay with the same armor, weapons and gear while you rack up hundreds of Ascendant Materials and farming materials in your inventory, your choice.

1 返信Yup u r spot on. This is especially stressful for people that don't play much. All their game time spent has gone to waste and now they have to do it all over PLUS some more. Instead of keeping prior upgrades and adding additional nodes, I feel like a ducking tool everything I play this game now.

3 通の返信-The grinding will be easy and fast. -You don't need to collect stuff since you can buy them. -You don't beed to spend ascended materials. -It's OPTIONAL. It won't apply until you activate it. Think of the reset as evolving your weapon. Same stats, but higher damage. It'll only activate when you want it to.

2 通の返信I don't think you understand exactly what's going to happen. They're only making the guns better... like they said they would from week F'ing one! Now that they are actually making them better everyone is having a massive bitch fest. I hope they do it in DlC2. I'd be happy

Hazethemadmanにより編集済み: 12/9/2014 1:10:56 AMAlot of people who disagree with this say, "i dont care" or some variation of the phrase. To make this a clear point, they dont support the change. They simply dont support protesting it. (Then again if they dont care then why are they here arguing it? Obviously, that is beside the point) Then there are the 10% (rough estimate, could be closer to 80%) of destiny players out there with maochism whom appreciate all of their work being irrelevant, and would enjoy doing the dull grinding over again. Just thought i would enlighten the world (of destiny) with my take on this. To end this, i would like to remind you all that, ahem, Bungie is a BUISNESS and wants your MONEY and TIME more than your OPINION. Hopefully you all can see this (especially the part about wanting your time) by now.

4 通の返信I love the grind, it makes me feel accomplished, it's ridiculous to me how many have this same exact complaint. It's not even that hard to upgrade weapons.

9 通の返信I have been wondering why the devs are so adamant about keeping something that has gotten so much negative feedback. My theory is this: 1) adding nodes will mean they have to add more nodes each time another DLC comes out. If this happens they will run out of screen space for all future nodes. 2) they need the exotics to reset for veteran players so that the Xmas newbs will be on an even playing field with everyone. This is especially true for the upcoming iron banner. This is also why newbs who get the game after the DLC will automatically have an already upgraded exotic while older players have jump through hoops to get the same exact item. I personally put stock in theory 2. Mainly because Xmas newbs are a new market and Bungie can make more money off of them. If Xmas newbs heard that they were 3 months behind they might be turned off to the game and not buy DLC or even play the game. A newbie can jump on and get exotics that are better than older versions. A newb can get gear that goes to 30 or 31, without grinding in the raids. A newb can get purples that are better than current purples. Everything is set up to provide a level playing field. The timing is perfect as well. Release at beginning of the December and by New Years everyone will be mostly equal.

13 通の返信Maybe you'll just find new guns and forget about your old. I really personally dont see this as a bad thing.

Rather then making us start over bungie should just bump our stuff. I mean they have shown that they are willing to buff our weapons on a whim so why not everything? Or give us a new material that we can use to "upgrade" our stuff.

2 通の返信People please use reason. Is not a reset. Is weapon LV 2. This term is wrong. If you choose to unlock the second level you start at 302 attack. You're investing on the second level not starting over

6 通の返信Ooooooh my god WEAPONS WITH 300 ATTACK WILL NOT BE USELESS. SEE HOW WE CAN EFFECTIVELY USE THEM FOR A LEVEL 30 RAID NOW? SEE HOW THE ONLY THING THAT WILL BE ABOVE LEVEL 30 WILL BE THE NEW RAID ON HARD MODE?? YOUR GUNS WILL WORK FINEEEEE. IF YOU REALLY NEED IT TO DO AS MUCH DAMAGE AS POSSIBLE THEN IT DOESNT TAKE LONG TO REUPGRADE AND IT STARTS OFF WITH MORE THAN 300 ATTACK ANYWAY. HOLY CHRIST. alright everybody lets just chill now. let's just relax about this and wait till we actually experience these new changes to start offering real feedback.

12 通の返信VictimOfNinjasにより編集済み: 12/6/2014 1:17:50 AMYou're all idiots. Let me clear this up for everybody who doesn't understand. The way this new upgrading exotic thing works is that you don't need to have a fully upgraded weapon to do it. You can have the weapon in your inventory not upgraded and you can still do it. If you aquire the weapon after TDB gets released it will have a base attack of 302 and be the upgraded version. If you choose to upgrade your weapon you currently have so in my case, the thorn, my gun will then have a base attack of 302, making it HIGHER then the current exotic cap so your winning there. In the process however you will lose your perks on the gun you upgraded and start from the start and raising it's stats to Something like the Vexs (323). The items will also level using less materials and level up much faster so a days worth of bounties on 2 characters should easily be enough. So Fully upgraded thorn pre-DLC 300attack. Xurs upgrade to the thorn post-DLC 302attack with the loss of perks but faster upgrading. Fully upgraded thorn post-DLC 323 attack. It's a win win & if you do a days bounties with two characters you have your exotic fully upgraded.
-
1 返信If you don't want to do the upgrade, just wait for RNG to give you a new exotic or legendary weapon and then bam you only have to upgrade the new exotic from the DLC. Instead of having to re level an exotic you already lvled once. Either way you are GOING to have to lvl up new gear so...I don't know what to tell you.

1 返信I think i have a good compromise. Keep the exp reset on exotics. Just waive the upgrade fee. I want to be at the same level as the kid who gets this game for christmas. Its not fair and i dont want to be punished for getting an exotic before dec 9. This seems very fair to me. Like if you agree.
