It might to encourage people to go to crucible too. I have several friends and even myself, that we were awful but we practice you can start to defense yourself too.

The old exchange wasn't hurting anyone and even made some people happy. Why fix something that wasnt broken to begin with?

Just hit 31 last friday and my twitch shooter reflexes aren't going to get any better and I was actually really happy when I saw that I can exchange Vanguard marks for materials, because I thought I can also exchange the materials to crucible marks. When I found out that all the faction gear is now 100% out of the window, unless I start playing PvP alot - I got frustrated and quickly after turned my console off. Though sure, I'm not about to rage and start hating on said developer or anything childish like that, but... That probably was not a reaction they were after.
