First off, decent update as far as the weapons go and fixing one of the many many many glitches on the Vault of glass, that being said.
As one of the many people who liked (and used) the materiel trade in for marks and as someone who does not like the PvP mode in any way, I am now forced to play PvP in order to obtain crucible marks to buy faction weapons that I would like to try out and see if they fit my play style.
I have decided that I am going to do nothing but dance in every match I have to play crucible to get marks.
Who's with me?
Do I care my team loses? No!
Do I care I am feeding the other team and my K/D is going to drop? !#$# NO! Who gives a !@#$ about stats.
Will I still get a chance to get exotics and other drops with a 0 K/D? Yes, and laugh when I do get one for dancing.
Will I be watching Netflix and Hulu while tapping the dance button until I have max crucible coins each week? Yes yes I will.
I feel like Buffalo Bill #Deej and the rest of the bungie crew are sitting above us as we play screaming "IT PUTS THE LOTION ON IT"S SKIN AND IT PLAYS THE CRUCIBLE AGAIN!!!!!!!! Why would you take away a simple mechanic that let us players that don't like PvP to get marks for our factions? I keep seeing people say that they didn't want people to trade Vanguard for Crucible marks but why would this matter? Do the math, I would be losing marks each time I tried to do that.
"But it takes way less time to play a match of Crucible than farm x ammount of materiel and you get rep with a win. Play the other half of the game"
True, but I can also run story missions, bounties, patrol missions, etc while I am farming. I can get 100 rep a lot faster in patrol than PvP so why not do that and get some bonus trade in marks for finding materiel along the way. If your running patrol with a squad you can rack up insane amounts of rep in a short amount of time and do a farming run at the same time. Do you use this same logic on someone who plays Creative mode only and doesn't touch Survival in Minecraft? They aren't "experiencing" the other half of the game but who cares? They are enjoying what they are playing and not affecting your play.
Why would anyone support making people who don't like a game mode play that game mode? I don't support only having lvl 30 gear behind a raid. The iron banner was a great way for people to get some higher level gear and it let the people who don't PvE get some gear without doing the raid.
Thats just my $.02 and hope I don't end up on your team if your a hard core PvP player, if I do sorry, but I gotta get them marks. Might as well cut a rug while i'm doing it. I am hoping this will catch on and we will see 12 person dance parties and they will fix this quick.

23 通の返信I see posts like this a lot and I think people are missing the point. The OP does not want crucible reputation or marks. All he wants is to be able to purchase faction gear instead of vanguard gear. Only problem is you can only purchase faction gear with marks. Currently he is doing the only thing he can to get those items. This is a huge flaw in game design in my opinion as all of the hype before launch was play the way you want to play and make your own legend. I think, and reading the OP comments I think he feels the same, that if you only want to play PVP go for it and you should be able to earn top level gear from that. I think they fell short when you couldn't get full level 30 gear from iron banner. Hopefully they fix this. And if you only want to play PVE then all aspects except for those specific to crucible should be available to you. In the end you can hit 30 with raid gear or crucible gear. But you will not get raid gear from crucible and you will not get crucible gear from raid. Faction gear is separate all together you can gain rep from either PVE or PVP so you should be able to purchase with currency from either. Or make them specific to either PVE and PVP. But both should have additional options for gear besides vanguard quartermaster and crucible quartermaster.

17 通の返信Just ignore them they wana act better than us cuz they dont like pvp do i think u should be able to trade in materials not really ur not putting effort in areas of the game that u should be earning crucible is for pvp players not pve so being awarded for things you are not going to do is just lazy. It would be like me being able to buy gear from the raid without ever playing the raid its not fair to those who earn them took the time to play the game and if u wana stand there and be useless in a game its up to you but in pvp people only care about kills because thats what its about you might find it pointless to play crucible but there are alot more out there who found farming to b pointless and u can still farm you just dont get awarded in aspects that you shouldnt

1 返信Yeah I don't get it either. I could only guess that the code to change the marks to materials was a lot easier than adding materials to a vendor. Bungie has displayed a few times that they don't want to make any big change, well it's seems that way to me. Forcing PVP on someone, anyone is wrong. Especially in a game that promoted its PVE so dramatically. I do wonder if they changed the marks to materials because it was not being used that much?

4 通の返信Like the idea and feel for you. I am a 60/40 player I enjoy the PvE but also like to train myself in the crucible to be better. I tend to get better at PvE by playing the crucible. I don't like the idea but support you. Here's why. The three-4 games of crucible I played today I had 1-2 "AFK" this is not really a big problem but I have the "win 3 rounds" bounty. This makes it very difficult to complete this bounty. Not only do you provide free kills to the other team but you are one less gun. You make bounties more difficult for other players. That's why I don't like your idea. I do on the other hand support your cause for BUNGIE putting back the material for marks exchange taking it away was unreasonable and unnecessary.

I can understand y u have been forced into this kind of behavior...if I see u I'll dance with u:)....I get the feeling bungie are kind of sticking fingers in the cracks of a massive dam that is about to break ...each patch fixes something only for another leak to appear somewhere else....I like PvP so this is a non issue except I'd prefer to play with ppl who r competetive....bungie take note of the behaviour u r forcing on people...it's ruining it for everyone

This would be fun as a team protest. I too use the material trade to get weapons and gear. I enjoy a little pvp, but not tons. I usually just go to rumble, get my last place and 2 marks for a little fun. But now, I will have to grind crucible to get faction gear. Or find something else to do with my time
-
So long as you stick to rumble, it's no skin off my back. I will say this though, I absolutely hated crucible when I first started, (I've never been a big pvp guy in any game really), but it does grow on you. I enjoy control myself, and have found ways of playing it that are really fun for me. Might want to consider trying this, or just stick to rumble, like Others have mentioned, that way you're not hurting anyone else's gaming experience.

4 通の返信minion630により編集済み: 12/4/2014 9:54:13 PMI understand where you're coming from. But something you should consider, some people like to play the crucible. You having your dance party is like getting in a style and one of the guys just standing there, forcing the other guys to do a three man strike missing one person. Bungie won't care. Your fellow players will though. If ya do it, go free for all. That way no one else is dragged down

24 通の返信You guys can stay still and dance while I kill you, complete my bounties and win the match. The winning team gets more marks than the losing team so enjoy your dancing while I earn more marks than you. Effing stupid.

5 通の返信My crew already did this. Did nothing but dance with the other team. Didn't get one kill. Match ended, no Marks or rep rewarded. So sorry your plan is not going to work.

1 返信Half of the forums already whine that PvP is useless and takes no skill and ruins the game and blah blah so I'm sure nobody will even care..

7 通の返信Why do you care about stupid digital weapons with the same stats.but different names. Jesus.. some people on here on beyond help. Why not just play crucible and get better at it? Oh you want the weapons to suit your gay playstyle? So you can shoot weak AI enemies and feel better about yourself? You hate pvp because you are trash and can't handle real competition. You're like the dirty ISIS scumbags that want to shoot and kill everyone but when someone better comes along they are like " don't use your drones on us thats cowardly" pfff we are better than them with more tech so we use it cause we are smarter. You thought you were good at this game but you are not. Stop crying and use your god damn vabguard weapons pussy.

If you don't like a game or part of said game, don't play it. No one is forcing you into Crucible matches. I do not like PVP very much and generally avoid it. Yet. I have no trouble progressing my gear. The only thing you really miss out on is PVP and reputation gear. Neither of which is a huge loss.
