Since the update we can no longer cheese raid bosses with grenades. As a result... compared to the other classes, what do warlocks do better than anyone else? Have they become the worst raid class? There is self rez, which I guess makes it more forgiving to play as a warlock if you can't stay alive regularly. Has voidwalker surpassed sunsinger?
Seriously, if you're good enough to stay alive then self rez sucks let's face it. Song of flame or the defense upgrade outclass fireborn. Unless you need the crutch.
Thoughts?
I have a 30 of each class and I love them all. Personally I've always disliked the sunsinger subclass. Specifically fireborn, its boring to hold your super until you die, which isn't often. Voidwalker has always been better unless you have problems staying alive. Hopefully we see more voidwalkers in the raid! One thing is certain, titans now bring the most to the table for raiding.
Edit: so far it looks like the consensus is that fireborn is the best for radiance. Apparently its not a crutch and even if you are pro enough to stay alive, its still worth having over the other abilities even if you never use a super as a result. Fireborn is for beasts and its not a security blanket. Warlocks will continue to be highly sought after for raid fire teams and will not be ostracized like the hunter is in some circles. Even after losing their trademark push off ability, fireborn will continue to be the number 1 ability to elevate warlocks to the status of "best raid class". That sum it up?
Edit 2: lets switch gears a bit... how do you maximize the abilities in this subclass for the raid? Which abilities and equipment are most valuable to you and your team? Many people are only familiar with you pushing bosses off ledges and having a do over button, educate them about why sunsingers are dominant. Interested in the more creative and lesser known ways to utilize the subclass.

2 通の返信I'll take a shot at this. Sunsinger has great survivability in general due to having higher natural recovery than hunter/titan subclasses. I also find my voidwalker benefits from that as well as being speedier than the sunsinger, although both are specced to speed over armor so no slowpokes. At least, in my builds. Exotic helms help with health too, apotheosis in general and the dire skull for VW. All that plus the sunsinger gets the overshield almost every minute. Very high survivability. Plus I got all the weapons I need to kill everything in the raid without needing my super. I die more from stupid mistakes than from adds. I like to walk off the edge a lot. When I do, I rez and berate myself while burning down everything around me. When things are going good and the team is solid, especially on normal, I'll see a lot of orbs on the ground. I'll pop my super then, bring the sun down on the adds creating orbs for my teammates, and gobble up those old orbs for my next attempt at reaching the bottom of the vog. Then again, on normal, I usually run voidwalker. On hard though, self rez is an ace in the hole. So you normally save it as not losing an entire player for the rest of the sequence is normally more important long term than getting really good dps for 30 seconds. Sometimes one prevents the other and sometimes all 3 hobs on mars hit me at the same when I'm shield smashing. Self rez, pick up shield clear hobs, cleanse, avoid wipe, continue raid with full fireteam. How about that, huh? Only super that can still be usable if you are the shieldbearer. Others can drop and use too, but with the drop timer, do you really have enough time to safely do that? It's always an emergency tactic. But sunsingers can carry that shield knowing that they will not go down easy, and have to go down twice for it to count. Frankly, since we don't have to cheese anymore, maybe we can finally do what we were always meant to do. Carry the shield. Lead the way. Praise the sun. Be the dawn.

Song of flames ... like that every body can throw loads of grenades while Radiance is active ... Fireborn is for Sisis (honnestly I found myself holding it to much, not using it anymore) usualy raiding in Voidwalker

Well vpidwalker is good in new raid no doubt if your good at staying alive. BUT the new raid he enemy's which are shielded with solar an arc shields. Wizards are everyone's most hated enemy's. So a sunsingers solar magic is amazing in the new raid. Being able to rip through their shields an self res if needed. In terms of VoG I would go with voidwalker as its more useful against praetorians. But in the next raid I'd use sunsinger as its a higher lvl by default so self res will be handy . an being able to destroy wizard shields is big bonus.

8 通の返信Correction: A sunsinger that holds onto their super in case of death is the most useless raid class. A sunbro who isn't afraid of using their super is a godsend. Especially in the raid, a sunbro can keep their teammates supers ready easily during the confluxes by wrecking the Templar's legions with plenty of orbs left over for their teammate's next refill. Fusion nades make enemies cower in fear, a sunsinger has access to two of these... During radiance? well GG. Flame shield is a nice alt from the defender's force barrier. Fireborn lets you take more risks and can be used to take the heat off your teammates, don't think your teammates need it? Then put on song of flame, defender titans love their disintegrate. I'd say the Voidwalker's melee and grenade options are weak in comparison to the Sunsinger's. Radiance also has a much greater and more versatile use than nova bomb. (Enemies don't need to be bunched up to make orbs, you also still can use all of your guns) So why is voidwalker better? For their void damage? Well that'd be greater if you couldn't use a legendary void fusion rifle... Sadly sunsinger hasn't been used to it's full raiding potential due to all the players that hold onto radiance incase of their death. Just wait until you come across the good sunbros, they put voidwalkers to shame.

17 通の返信To all the warlocks that call is hunters shit: -you admit that hunter is the hardest class -------> class for pros. Pros that need a challenge -hunter is meant for pros -if you don't die as a hunter, grats you're a pro that knows how to survive without any on-hit-shields, rezes, etc. -novabomb takes out one oracle, GG 3-4 -you need to actually do something to use GG, like aiming (ya naidin' warlocks) -as a trade off for our hard work as playing hunters: we get to look awesome! -I might reply, but won't get angered by trolls

It depends on the play style of the group, they're useful when sniping the oracles and not to mention everytime they self revive it saves the team from being down a man for 30+ seconds Not useless, just less useful than before

4 通の返信Just like the defender, sunsinger can be tailored to the phase - self res for the early defense phases, fireborn for the atheon fight. Just think of it if you will: team comes out of the gate and runs through a titan bubble with weapons of light sits in the shield during times vengence, and has a warlock pop song of flame and buffs the team even more, then gunslingers pound out with golden gun. That's a hella ton of damage

boffにより編集済み: 12/2/2014 8:06:26 PMradiant skin is good for getting out of tricky situations, i was thinking if you know you are going to die, why not blast on radiant skin to stay alive, rather than die and revive, most likely still in the middle of the shit storm you died in the first place. at least with radiant skin you could battle your way through it. Nova bombs are great for getting rid of supplicant......i use void walker for eay raids, its a lot more fun, self res for hard......because, yeah it might be a bit cheap, but it makes sense. why not blast radiant skin on before picking up the relic. lots of uses.........never really thought of warlocks being good because of cheesing

3 通の返信none. All classes are useful, and no subclass is better or worse then another. Certainly, as you said, warlocks include a crutch to help more casual players, BUT, there are still tons of skilled warlocks. Classes don't matter. Skill does.

2 通の返信I use my super with my Apotheosis Veil helmet which fully heals me when I pop radiance, that way I dont die and I can bomb the shit out of the enemies.

3 通の返信you hold your super.....thats like having a I win button and not pressing it. I'm a lvl 30 warlock sun-singer I never hold my super unless a few team members have died and we need to have a back up but thats rare for my team and I. No, I burn everything I hold the center throughout the raid. when were opening the gate I hold the center and support the others, when were on the Templar I hold the center and support the others, when we fight Antheon I hold the center while two others run the relics.... I am a 30 warlock...and not only is my light as bright as the sun....but my fires are just as hot. So yes...to sum it up your edit is correct sir.

7 通の返信Yeah sunsinger warlocks are useless. They ONLY have the power of having two lives and bringing the whole team back from a potential raid restart. Yep.makes sense kid
