threatened by iron banner gear?
Question.
Why are some of you 30s threatened by iron banner gear? Why is cheesing the VOG better than actually winning in PvP? Is it because people can actually get to 30 AND have to be good at PvP (because many thirties are terrible at it)? Or is it something else.
Ultimately, there isn't any reason to hate on 30s with IB gear. It looks better than the raid gear. that's for sure.
EDIT: So many of you have answered me with a wealth of knowledge. Most of you have given a fair and solid answer. Some people who are only a high level due to IB gear say they are experienced in the raid, but in fact, they are terrible and uneducated on how to complete the raid.
There are two things. lvl 30 raiders who feel as though they are superior because they run the raid three times a week and then wait merely because they have to wait longer than people did for IB gear. Then, there are the IB 30's and 29's that lie about their raid experience and drag their team down.
Seriously? Why lie about your raid experience? Are your egos so deflated you need to boast about how you're "A pro at the raid"? If you say "I've never Done the raid" your group will direct you what to do.
Also, The 30's who think they are better than the rest or every "fake" 30 they see you are just as bad. Self esteem needs a boosts by believing you are better. Terrible. Also, no you aren't that good. Last night, a couple buddies of mine played skirmish with a team of all 30's with 100% raid gear and weapons. We DESTROYED them. 10000 to 2400. Raiding does not make you superior in any way.
If someone is lying about raid experience that's on them. If someone cheeses the raid, that's on them. Not on all of us.

Lvl 30 with raid gear are just salty it took them 10-20 raids to get all gear I have 25 completions "Atheon kills" but have done Templar and oracles and such way more and I'm sure it took me longer then most to get gear but quiet honestly I like Ib stats more than most of my raid gear it's hard for me to pick the boots over raid boots cause heavy ammo doe

4 通の返信Well I've never hated on a lvl 30 IB player but when everyone assumes I "cheese" Atheon when I've actually defeated him legit many times on Hard kinda gets annoying.

I'm all for the IB gear being 30. You gotta put in some time for that stuff, and it's not worth it if it's equal to the regular vendor stuff. Not to mention it looks way cooler than the raid gear. If I didn't already have raid gear maxed, I'd be thrilled with the IB stuff.

2 通の返信by good at pvp you mean hit 20 kills 20 headshots hand in a bounty and get each rank in like an hour ? maybe 4 ranks thats if you didnt already hit rank 4 last time iron banner was on then you just buy armor as many times as you want for all 3 guys ? against playing the raid and finding 5 others to play with you completing it in around an hour but the 1st time when you all try it its easily 5 plus hours and armor is not set in stone as a reward and you can easily hit 500 kills per raid ? so yeh the raid people doing it 10 -30 times earning that armor bit a a time earned it. the people who jumped on iron pants and grabbed free welfare armor didnt simple as

I think it's because players with full raid gear look at the perks on ib armor and get pissed because of the upgrades. They "worked so hard" to get a full set and it doesn't compare to just 2 pieces of gear payed for in blood fighting in the crucible. Don't get me wrong, I love the oracle and Pretorian damage buffs on my raid set, I just find the ammo perks more useful in nightfall and juggler strikes.

I don't get why anyone would even care, the only difference between the two is that the raid is random, which you can do once or twice a week per character. Should only take 1 hour or 1.5 in reality. So with that in mind, iron banner took me about that amount of time to finish one days bounties. It took me 4 days worth of bounties to get to rank 4 I believe. So basically that's 4 weeks worth of resets on the raid. Sure RNG blah blah blah, irrelevant chatter about how raid is harder. To me if you put the time in why shouldn't you be rewarded

well it's one thing to run a raid on Normal and completely different when you run it on Hard I can do OK on Normal, but usually there's someone who wants to play a certain role - so I don't get to use the relic - and I don't have a regular raid crew - so it's mostly randoms off the forums secondly, it's one thing to watch a YouTube video and THINK you know what to do, and it's completely different when you are actually doing it - especially when 3-4 people screaming into their mic for you to grab the relic and cleanse when a relic holder dies - for some reason everyone forgets that even if I pick it up it takes a long time for it to charge I need a regular crew ...

I couldn't care less if you 30 from iron banner or vog. There is cheap ways to get gear from vog aka cheesing and their is cheap ways to get gear from banner with unlimited chest farming for mats that turn into marks. What I so get mad is that if you are 30 by whatever means, and u still die often and still solo portals and such as a 30 should do. Edit: I do have to agree that IB gears looks way better then raid gear.

There's only two types of people who are an issue. 1)People who care about how you got to level 30 2)People who care about people who care about how you got to level 30 There will always be the former, just don't be the latter.

I love my Iron Banner gear AND the raid boots I got. Need the rest but all in all I love all the gear I get. There's literally no reason anyone should hate on another guardian for any petty reason like that lol besides the IB and raid gear have perks for two different weapon types, so it also matters what weapons you use more. All of it matters on the individual player. You're creating your OWN legend in Destiny, not someone else's.

The only difference between Raid gear and IB gear is that one is random loot drop (luck based) and the other guarantied for when you reach the right rank. That's really the only thing... Hell in normal crucible with my secondary hunter (lvl 28) I totaled a lvl 30 with full Raid gear, suros and found verdict to the point he raged quited.

The legs look like gold skinny jeans so I didn't bother. The titan IB arms look rad though with the wolf. I have full raid and rank 5 IB and ranking up in the iron banner is not difficult especially when [b]the armor is rewarded at level 3 and 4 and not 5[/b]. That's the only reason I think IB was a bit dumb the armor should have been rank 5. And the guns rank 3-4. Cause the armor was so easy to get you could literally go afk each game and by the end of the week have level 3-4 with the buff.
