Question.
Why are some of you 30s threatened by iron banner gear? Why is cheesing the VOG better than actually winning in PvP? Is it because people can actually get to 30 AND have to be good at PvP (because many thirties are terrible at it)? Or is it something else.
Ultimately, there isn't any reason to hate on 30s with IB gear. It looks better than the raid gear. that's for sure.
EDIT: So many of you have answered me with a wealth of knowledge. Most of you have given a fair and solid answer. Some people who are only a high level due to IB gear say they are experienced in the raid, but in fact, they are terrible and uneducated on how to complete the raid.
There are two things. lvl 30 raiders who feel as though they are superior because they run the raid three times a week and then wait merely because they have to wait longer than people did for IB gear. Then, there are the IB 30's and 29's that lie about their raid experience and drag their team down.
Seriously? Why lie about your raid experience? Are your egos so deflated you need to boast about how you're "A pro at the raid"? If you say "I've never Done the raid" your group will direct you what to do.
Also, The 30's who think they are better than the rest or every "fake" 30 they see you are just as bad. Self esteem needs a boosts by believing you are better. Terrible. Also, no you aren't that good. Last night, a couple buddies of mine played skirmish with a team of all 30's with 100% raid gear and weapons. We DESTROYED them. 10000 to 2400. Raiding does not make you superior in any way.
If someone is lying about raid experience that's on them. If someone cheeses the raid, that's on them. Not on all of us.

I'm not threatened by it at all.... I am a little jelly of it though. They made the IB gear look so badass and they made the Raid Gear look like something we fished out of the garbage can. Seriously... the regular Raid armor is just UGLY and not even distinctive. I just can't figure out how they operate over there at Bungie :\

Swiftlockにより編集済み: 12/4/2014 7:57:44 PMNot like it'll matter. Iron Banner gear will be obsolete when people start getting the new raid gear. That is, until the next IB rolls around and the gear will most likely count towards level 32.

People are going to be pricks no matter what there always going to find something to gripe about the best thing to do is ignore them ..... On a side note I like taking my raid arms and boots off and wear my IB stuff just to hear people say oh he isn't any good boot him from the party he has IB gear ..... As soon as I hear that I swap to raid gear and then just quit, only if they act ridiculous, I stay if their cool , you can learn a lot about people that way and actually save yourself the trouble of listening to someone be a prick during the raid
-
Im sorry but my IB gear has better attributes towards intellect, strength and discipline than any raid boots or gauntlets. I refuse to wear something that is weaker than what I have on just to appease people and their thoughts

People need to stop thinking this is important. A level 30 is a level 30. It's not like people care about the lower level's gear, like a 28/29. Nobody is like "I actually earned my legendary gear through vanguard marks, I didn't get carried by some PvP team like a noob." It's the same idea with lvl 30 just the stakes are higher. Light level doesn't mean sh*t, it's skill that speaks.

1 返信Um.......... How was earning the iron banner gear in any way connected to being good at PVP? I'm utter shit but I hit rank 5 in 4 days with 3 bounties a day and the boost to rep. It was harder to get the glimmer to buy the gear than to get the level to buy it.

Just saying IB hear doesn't mean you are good at pvp you could lose 5 times and have a team carry you to victory and get all that xp.. kind of like you say some 30s with raid gear suck.. same things applies here too

The White Foxxにより編集済み: 12/1/2014 6:50:31 AMGot the boots from IB and that's it. Kept running the raid and couldn't get boots. Warlock and hunter have full VoG gear other than the hunters boots. I honestly think that ppl that were lvl 30 from VOG were just butthurt cuz they weren't special snowflakes anymore. Honestly there SHOULD be multiple ways to be lvl 30. I don't have a problem but a lot of guys I know work odd hours so can't play vault with their friends. IB gives you a way to get the gear using matchmaking. (Plus the IB gear looks pretty BA)

I don't see the point in lying about raid experience. It shows up on your profile. Besides, people need to be a a place appropriate for their skill and experience. If you need to get better, then hold work the center conflux on the confluxes and gatekeepers. It's okay. As you play with a group, they will teach you the other parts as you get better. I know that I'm still a novice, and I only just started carrying the relic on HM. I still don't go in the portals on hard, yet.

Magiktakoにより編集済み: 12/1/2014 1:59:19 AMI could only get to lvl 30 thru Iron Banner gear. I ran Atheon on Hard yesterday; Had the relic most of the time, and did a badass job with it, too. When I didn't have the relic, I was wrecking Oracles/Supplicants. Atheon didn't stand a chance. In reality, the hardest part of VoG is dealing with the bugs :/

2 通の返信comparing IB and raid lv30's is like comparing apples and oranges in my opinion. Each have their own challenges. I just wish people would stop whining about either one.

Tbh I have no problem with iron banner gear, I have the boots myself on one character, my problem is that a lot of people have only raided once or twice but try and sell that they know what they are doing, and I find this problem is worse with iron banner gear, raid gear I see the same but less often. That's my problem with it. However if your good I don't care if you a level 24 with blues your good that's what matters

I am lv 29, I have gotten the raid chest 2 times, the raid gauntlets 2 times, and I have gotten chatter white and ascendants a gazillion times. When I did it on hard all I got were ascendants and spirit bloom (unfortunately we didn't get to kill atheon because we all got kicked thanks to the servers going down >:( Why wouldn't I get the IB gear? For all the time involved they look wwwwwaaaaaay better with the badass Wolves on it.

I have 2 LVL 30's and a LVL 27, I did run 2 of my classes through IB to get all the gear I could. IB takes a lot of time and glimmer (it killed my bank roll), the raid takes 45 mins on Normal Mode and well it depends on your fire team for hard mode. I have only run parts here and there as a fill in for hard mode. Bottom line is its all about the player, you have to get into the Raid to get experienced to get respect. I've run what think is a lot of Raids but I've been kicked from a fire team before myself and nothing pissed me off more. It drives me to get more perfect practice, now I take any run anytime I'm available whether I have loot to gain or not.

4 通の返信I think the issue here is that people are actively looking for players to complete the Vault Of Glass on a weekly basis. Having raid gear as apposed to IB gear is proof that you've at least completed the Vault of Glass enough times to get lucky enough for gear. This means the probability of having a "smoother" raid experience lies with raid gear 30s (I put quotes over smoother because I've encountered raid gear 30s that are still terrible at VOG and were clearly cheesing or were carried through it with every attempt). I'm sure that if the Iron Banner ran every week and people were looking to form competitive teams, they would be recruiting 30s with IB gear because it's relevant to what they are doing. The whole "real 30 vs fake 30" debate is rather dumb because 30 is 30...if numbers are still numbers, but I can see why people favor Raid Gear 30s because these are players looking to tackle the Vault and not have it take two hours. Bottom line: VOG is relevant now, Iron Banner is not. Not saying I'm right but it makes complete sense in my head lol
