Destiny's loot system is NOT completely random. It's mostly random with a small modifier: the chance of getting more loot and better quality engrams is SLIGHTLY increased by how well you play the game.
I have played 7 characters to level 20, and 4 more to level 10. I've noticed a small trend happening. When I played strikes/story/ arena over a period of time and never died/ had really high kill ratios engrams seemed to drop a bit more. I don't mean a large increase but like 5-10 % more loot when you are doing REALLY well. And an increase of around 0.25% chance for a rare to turn into a purple.
This could be a combination of both your current score/kill death ratio and overall score/kill death ratio.
Basiclly if you are a good player after 50 hours of game play you are more likely to have an extra exotic or two and more legendary gear than the player with a k/d ratio of 60 for strikes
Anyone else seem to notice this trend happening?

1 返信Yeah the drops are mostly random. Let's take the raids my clan does for example. I tend to die/self res a lot less than others yet they get gjallahorn, fatebringer, raid helmets, vex mythoclast, etc. I get shards, energy, and raid ships. RNG is random, not skill based.

2 通の返信Bungie staff has stated in multiple interviews that the loot drops are completely random. Down to the nearest second of when the drop actually occurs.

5 通の返信Destiny is not RNG. Bungie is using PLS for Destiny. They have confirmed it in one of their earlier interviews. RNG and PLS (Personal Loot Stream) are both very different. It's easier to manipulate PLS than RNG.

2 通の返信Not sure I agree with your theory as I use mainly auto rifles and my Vanquisher VIII is my main gun and I've never had another RNG auto rifle I've gotten patience and time and ice breaker from crucible and iron banner and if what you say is true then I should have a higher chance at auto rifles or pulse rifles since they are the two types I've had the most kills with I just think it's totally random and I think that's true because when I got Patience and Time I was smashed with a Kd of 8-18 and when I got Ice Breaker the other night I had a Kd of 0.93 and the only time I did good and was rewarded was when I got Timurs Lash with a Kd of 1.5

I guess its hard to have real proof if my theory is correct but I have been looking around the forums at people frustrated they aren't getting anything or people who seem to get lucky and it seems the people who "get lucky" have higher kill death ratios than the people who are complaining they aren't getting anything.

4 通の返信well i got invited to a night fall almost 2 shots away from killing the nexus, i joined and 2 minutes later the nexus was dead...guess who got the thunderlord...yep Me! I think that the RNG should look at stats and reward appropriate. Or they need to introduce some kind of trade system to balance the RNG unfairness :)
