This is really getting old. It's been well over a month now since we've had solar burn on the nightfall. A ton of exotics are solar damage, so they're pretty much useless in the nightfall. I'm finding it hard to believe that this game is 100% random.

4 通の返信I prefer Arc Burn the most. Mmmm Fatebringer, Timepiece, Patience and Time, 77 Wizard, and Thunderlord

1 返信Burns typically try to match the damage type that the enemies in the strike are doing. Having solar in a strike where no one does solar damage makes no sense.

10 通の返信AustinSilvestreにより編集済み: 11/18/2014 2:14:39 PMAlright, I'll give you some advice. First room sit in that hole that you would get to if you ran across the whole room. Sit there and pick them of until the waves almost done, play it smart kill them. Go back for wave 2, repeat. Go back for wave 3, let them fight each other until it's a small amount of enemies left, go there pick them off and wait for the baron, sit back kill him. If you're wondering "Where the fuq do you get all the sniper ammo?" You switch to icebreaker regen it to 6 then switch to your arc sniper and it'll have 2 full clips. Second part the tank, right when you go in the open, turn to the left and go back, you can hop on this little ledge and pick everything off no problem, just switch the snipers like I said in the first part. Last part with sepkim just sit in the building with the window an and pick off the adds and play it smart. Tbh it's not hard if you have a strategy.

3 通の返信Of course it's not random, they choose the burn damage on purpose to ensure more enemies hurt you more. This week, it's a fallen strike, and fallen mostly use arc damage, hence arc burn.
-
4 通の返信Probably coz they just handed out there highest impact sniper which also regenerates ammo and happens to be solar damage based. They dont want you to sit back and take em out one by one. They want you to die lol.

1 返信Are you seriously bitching about this? Kids on this forum complain about everything. Stfu and play the game, or return it. Nobody cares

Solar weapons are not useless in this nightfall. The shanks have solar shields if I remember correctly. Plus there are a few wizards in the beginning with solar shield as well. I plan on rolling with my maxed out Fatebringer and Ice Breaker. Haven't decided which heavy to use yet though...

1 返信I think it's based more on what the adds tend to do. Most of the adds and peon mobs in Devil's Lair are Fallen with Arc pistols and rifles, so the burn makes them much more dangerous (and the boss itself almost a distraction, though one you have to kill). Sadly, I don't disagree that gear serves as a serious drag-parachute on a player's ability to run Nightfalls. If you have at least two weapons with the burn element, you're probably going to be fine. If not - even if you have only one - it's going to be a brutal uphill struggle. I've got Patience and Time and an Arc Deviant Gravity-A, both maxed, so I'll be trying it solo tonight. But yeah, I don't envy players who attempt this strike with only a single Arc weapon, even at L28 or L29. Wielders of Fatebringers or Timepieces, on the other hand, are likely loving this strike. Should be a walkdown with one of those.

1 返信Dude just get an arc wep and stfu. This forum complains about so many things that the devs don't know what the real problems are.

2 通の返信I have Praedyth's TimePiece, Patience and Time; and Swarm (arc), but none of these arc weapons are upgraded past level 257. Would it still be advisable to use them instead of my other Legendary/Exotic weapons that are fully maxed level 300?

This whole game is RNG and there's only 3 -blam!-ing burns to cycle through. Chances are that we won't see a certain burn for a long time because theoretically, under the RNG, we could actually see the same burn(or no burn) for months. It doesn't discriminate. If we saw Arc, Solar, Void, None in that order forever....than that would be more of an indication that it's not completely 100% random. I'm just glad that there's a burn this week.
-
4 通の返信Well, think of it this way, each week it has to randomly choose from 4 options (Arc, Solar, Void, None) So each week it has a 25% chance of being each (because Bungie opted not to include code to weight things away from heavy repeats).

Solar is still needed for the shanks and wizards. FateBringer will handle everything else. If you don't have that or the Timepiece use The VoC on your primary. Secondary I use P&T, Plan C, and Ice Breaker to recoup my ammo. If you don't have those then grab the arc sniper from the vanguard.
