I have used this spot a few times and if you say it's not an exploit then you are just lying to yourself. Any spot where you can hit an enemy and not really have to worry about getting hit is an exploit. That being said, if they didn't want people to cheese the strikes, they should make the nightfall at least somewhat beatable without a cheese spot.
