Destiny does nothing well.
If I want gun play I'll play COD: Advanced Warfare. If I want team work I'll go play Counter Strike. If I want to mess around I'll play Robocraft. If I want realism I'll play Arma. If I want scale I'll play Planetside 2. If I want action I'll play Battlefield. If I want art I'll play Hotline Miami. If I want an rpg I'll play Diablo. If none of those work I have Grand Theft Auto V or San Andreas. Destiny doesn't do any of these well, while it had good intentions something happened along the development line and either because of Activision or Bungie (or both) Destiny is a huge waste of 500 million. But not all is lost, it has toaght me not to ride the hype train and critical thinking is key, not being a fanboy. I wish all the best Bungie, but you can do better.
Edit: Mass Effect instead of Diablo as an rpg, just slipped my mind at the original time of writing.

2 通の返信Congradulations. You discovered what a a Jack of all Trades is. Destiny certainly is not horrible overall but it doesn't excel in any one area.

2 通の返信Gone are the days when games were simply played for fun. You're right there are many games that do one or two things better than Destiny. There are few games that do everything as well as Destiny does though. The most important thing is that Destiny is fun. More so than most of the games you listed. I haven't poured this much time into a game in years and I keep coming back. If you dissect the mechanics and compare each one to other games of course you'll find games that do each mechanic better. Destiny is a jack of all trades. It does everything well enough to be considered good, but not enough to really excel at anything. [spoiler] Of course fun is subjective so you may not agree, but I don't regret my purchase.[/spoiler]

3 通の返信If I was creating a new IP and owned two the worlds most prestigious gaming companies I'd pump 500M into a ten year plan with ease. All to know id make that money back and then reuse it to polish the games and make them better with DLC and updates round the clock? This is what and will happen with destiny.
