So if the Big Bang theoretically created everything, where did the matter that created the Big Bang come from?
Also, if you view reality and the universe as synonymous, then how did matter from reality exist before reality did?
I'm not being rude, just curious.

TheQ5により編集済み: 11/13/2014 6:42:48 PMEverything has always existed. All matter and energy was encapsulated in a point of infinite smallness and infinite density: a (gravitational) singularity. No one knows what happened before the Big Bang. We know what happened a few trillionths of a trillionth of a second after it, but not right at or before. Everything somehow burst outwards from this singularity about 14 billion years ago. That's the simplest version I can give you without delving deep into general relativity or high-concept possibilities. Your second question (reality and the universe) is one I quite enjoy. The problem is that you are presupposing that reality and existence are the same. They aren't (which is a fact). Your question calls on the 1st Law of Thermodynamics, basically: energy/matter can neither be created nor destroyed (closely related to Conservation of Energy). So, it naturally follows that all matter/energy have always been around, in some form.

6 通の返信Also, follow up point as you've changed your title. Evolution does not explain creation, it explains why life is as it is today, from the point which we all spring from, a living ancestor to every living species today. This is fact. Darwinian evolution is the theory that explains this through natural selection, however neither of them explain creation of life. I wish more people would understand this, the fact that creationists and evolutionists argue is mind numbing. It's quite obviously a fact that humans were not the first life on earth and evolution does not explain how life began, simple as that. There, you got your godly evidence up until the point that we prove abiogenesis or a similar process. Now simmer down so we can continue our science and you can continue your worship. Simple as that folks, make this world a better place.

2 通の返信science is a study not a belief. are you implying math and english is a belief also? how can you prove you exist? prove to me someone don't exist. the 5 senses you feel have to do with your brain waves, for all you know we are in "the matrix."

12 通の返信We are unsure. But throwing God into the equation only gives us something else which has an unknown origin

3 通の返信You can supposedly make matter from nothing. We've already done it on a small scale.

M37h3w3により編集済み: 11/13/2014 3:58:52 PMWe're not sure about the origins of the universe. We pin the creation of our current universe on the Big Bang but we aren't sure if this is just another expansion/contraction phase in a long chain of expansions/contractions or just generally what happened before the Big Bang and how all the material that constructed the universe originally came to be. Yet. And the term evolutionists would deal with people who specifically believe in the theory of evolution. It's the wrong term to use when it comes to labeling the other side opposed from theists.

Also, if you view reality and the universe as synonymous, then how did matter from reality exist before reality did? I'm not being rude, just curious.
A) Atheism has nothing to do with scientific literacy. B) The Big Bang did not "create" anything, all the matter and energy in the universe existed as an infinitely dense, infinitesimally small, singularity point, that only existed in the smallest increment of time we can measure, before the expansion of space time. It's not like it was sitting there waiting to explode, our classical laws of physics do not permit us to go before that point. The Big Bang is the expansion, and nothing else. C) Theoretical physics is attempting to explain the singularity point and before, but it's very hard to understand, so I'm not even going to try and explain it, since I only have a general understanding of it myself, look up M-Theory if you are really interested, I'm just warning you that you will not understand it the first time you see it, it is extremely abstract and counterintuitive to what we know and think. D) Reality is perceived.

10 通の返信FYI, atheism isnt the belief of you think it is, its the absence of belief. Youre talking about evolutionism, evolutionists believe in that.
