Female Gamers?
I just read a thread where a female gamer was talking about how she had to gently make suggestions in a party, deepen her voice, and be forceful at times to be taken seriously. Say what? Are we in the 1800s? She also had to hide her PSN for private messages only. I'm just confused as to the big deal of a woman playing games... It's not uncommon, and it dazzles me that people react like that as the average gamer is 30something years old.
What's the big deal with female gamers, and why the hell do they NEED to be anything other than themselves on a video game? EVOLVE PEOPLE.

Just to be clear, I'm not white knighting for women. If the trend were people being treated differently due to race or sexuality I'd ask the same question: why does it matter?

3 通の返信You know, while we're on that aspect of female gamers choosing not to talk.... I understand that they don't want to be harassed but when you're doing something like a raid, something that needs minimal communication, you should talk out of courtesy. I mean when it comes to the raid you're making it so much more harder for other people by not using your mic. It's difficult figuring out where to position a mute person on the team. I understand everyone has their fears but also understand that everyone else on the team is doing the raid for you as well. Help them help you. I'm not saying harassment should be taken lightly but you don't have to go as far as never using your mic at all no matter the circumstance. Sorry to sound insensitive but that's just stupid.

But ive never excluded them. Sorry its a bias against 13 yr old boys not females.

Had to be forceful at times? Well yeah, that's how it works. That's how people actually take what you say seriously and earnestly listen as it is probably something pertinent pertaining the task at hand I.e. Raid

Whether the gamer is a girl or a guy, I will still call the shots. I will yell over everyone because I know I am right. I can hold my own. I don't die, and I can do every role. I immediately establish dominance in every raid group I join. But that's just me. A girl should establish her dominance by tearing down their manliness. I suggest talking about their genital size. Tell them that theirs is incredibly tiny. Verbally neuter all the guys so that the wont be like me and talk over everyone. :)

She has a Warlock/Titan/Huntee at 30/30/29 & she knows everything, even how to instantly generate 8+ orbs of light. I always raid my 3 characters with her. We end up beating both difficulties within an hour for normal and an hour and a half with a good group on hard. She can solo both gatekeepers (Mars & Venus) on hard and when the second gatekeeper is almost dead, 1 guy will go in to kill it and grav the relic.

14 通の返信I believe most of the hate versus females gamers is that, for the most part, they're not very good... sorry if I piss off the Lancelots in here, but you're a bunch of neck beards and you're chivalry won't get you laid anyway. I've played against some really good female gamers, but the VAST majority need to be carried in games, which might explain how there are so many level 30's. So while some might get disrespected, plenty benefit from their vaginas as well.

3 通の返信The anonymity of the internet seems to bring out the true nature of people. It's people without any social filters. Nothing to hold back their bs. Truth is though it's a lot fewer and far between than you'd expect. Because, strangely, most people aren't bigoted idiots. People who are victims of this tend to exaggerate the bad times in their head. Not to say this is intentional, but you do remember far more negativity than you will the neutral or positive experiences because those are the more emotion-inducing experiences.

Don't put us all in the same boat. I personally don't care what you are and if you make mistakes it's ok as no one is perfect. Guess you just need to look for more respectful players. My clan is open to all as long as you respect each other so feel free to stop by and you don't have to hide your voice, worry about being kicked or not have your advice taken seriously. I don't know anyone that wouldn't play with a female gamer just because of her gender. Sorry you seem to have hit the jackpot of sexist/immature players. I'm happy to have any female join my fireteam . If anyone on ps3 friend me : DirectFX, and let's Roll forget about the fools!
