Female Gamers?
I just read a thread where a female gamer was talking about how she had to gently make suggestions in a party, deepen her voice, and be forceful at times to be taken seriously. Say what? Are we in the 1800s? She also had to hide her PSN for private messages only. I'm just confused as to the big deal of a woman playing games... It's not uncommon, and it dazzles me that people react like that as the average gamer is 30something years old.
What's the big deal with female gamers, and why the hell do they NEED to be anything other than themselves on a video game? EVOLVE PEOPLE.

Just to be clear, I'm not white knighting for women. If the trend were people being treated differently due to race or sexuality I'd ask the same question: why does it matter?

why do girls think that they have to hide in every game not everyone are idiotic to them when people put post or complain about it to me most of the time i see it as they try to get attention, and i have made friends online regardless of what gender they are

I wouldn't mind having a girl on my team any more than anyone else *with the exception of little kids that try to find the easy way around everything* Kinda Relivant; It seems the entirety of the female player base is all on PSN. Maybe with like 2-12% being on XBL. My statistic is made up, bur honestly, not by much.

I always had the feeling that she wanted to be treated differently, no one complaint when she diededed and she had no clue what to do, yet she wasn't kicked. Every time I am around females I feel like I have to behave like a gentleman, even during gaming. Otherwise she will just start to bitch around and the other males start to hate on you because you treated the woman badly. No one bats an eye if you call a male a scrub but everyone loses their minds if you do it to a female. Double standards...

I avoid female gamers when I can avoid offending them. It's an unfortunate truth that in my experience it's a very likely thing you're playing with the stereotypical "gamer gurl" who thrives on the attention she gets by just being a girl. Drives me as crazy as a pre-teen gamer who won't be quiet in party chat.

18 通の返信Because girls get so much abuse that's why they hide themselves online. Imagine playing a game and constantly getting messeges ranging from abuse to guys hitting on you. It would drive anyone nuts. I feel so sorry for girl gamers, they must have really thick skin to carry on and still be good at the game.
