Why are there "cheesing" spots in every strike
I find it strange that there is a way to cheese every boss in the strike. Is this because we as a player base are very smart and know how to use our environment or just because lazy game testing with the development of the game allowed these places all over the game.
I for one remember the thrill of the first time I took on phogoth running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to wait it out 30 seconds so my team could revive. now everyone just stands in a place where they can't be hit by adds or the boss.

These "cheese spots" allow people to solo strikes on weekly or nightfall, I think it's great since they left out match making for these modes. How does this hurt the game? Why are you complaining about something helpful?

5 通の返信The cheese spot for the Phogoth fight (sitting in the room before the shrieker room and sniping him through a tiny gap) is pretty ridiculous. I was literally reading things on my iPad while waiting for my icebreaker to reload. Nexus is the only strike I haven't soloed successfully. I'll have to find some videos or something and figure that one out. I tried hiding on a column in the back, but the ads + splash damage got me.

3 通の返信There are MULTIPLE cheese spots for the bosses on every strike. I swear it's either totally intentional or the devs were paying 0 attention to the size of the rocks and gaps when building the areas. Although after doing the weekly strike against the Archon Priest, I found 2 spots (not under the platform) that HAD to be intentionally done just by looking at them. These guys build these worlds for a living so it's realistic to assume they know a ton more than me about placement, but even in Halos Forge I'd spend hours making sure no cheap hiding spots were left from odd object placement. I can't imagine them slacking THIS MUCH in comparison.

3 通の返信The known cheesed spots for strikes that I know of: Winter's Run - under the sniper platform Cerberus Vae III - under the stairs near Valus spawns at the door Devil's Lair - On the left side, second floor, you can phase thru the glass and hide and shoot out from (gotta be at least sticking out from the window, if not sticking out then you're wasting ammo) Summoning Pits - entrance to Phogoth and camp at the doorway or behind the rock by the lower platform or above Phogoth on the Catwalk Nexus - on the rotating rings, jump down to the lower ring to shoot thru and jump back up to recover and hide

It's adapting to overcome the situation. Doing these strikes time after time after time will only give you experience as a player and you'll, again, adapt and know the pattern of the strikes like the back of your hand.

2 通の返信They were obviously intended, I don't know if they meant for the enemies to all magically go away in the phogoth strike but in nexus for instance they clearly knew people would try to camp at the top or they wouldn't have made the minotaur spawn up there. I think they're basically saying "Ya use these camping spots but we're going to throw harder adds at you to deal with". And let's be honest, no one would be able to beat nightfall without these spots

Why are they there? Because no one can find holes in your playground like a legions of twinkle gatherers. Do I use them? I did for Thorn. I also did once for Valarie Tur'urk'erk'urk when we were in trouble last weeks nightfall.

I think they are put there by design, I mean in a real gun fight would you stand out in the open and go guns blazing OR find a spot to hide and methodicaly pick off your enemy. I don't see how you could complete some of the Nightfall strikes without these spots. With "Lightswitch" mode you have to be able to hide or one hit and your done.

2 通の返信I do it in solo and if this was real, I would use this strategy in a heart beat. In reality, I wouldn't run around like a chicken with his head cut off. I'll find a spot where I can't be hit and pick them off from cover.

If it's in a multi million dollar thoroughly tested game, it's meant to be there. This should be the mindset of us as customers and players. We as end customers should not be the guinea pigs, not without being paid as testers. It's only logical to find the safest place and shoot from there, in the same way it's stupid to stand infront of the boss and hope to not die. If you want to spice things up by running around instead, or blindfolding yourself and pressing the controller with your toes, then go ahead. Decide your own level of entertainment. But if it's in the game, we should assume it's intended.
