Rewrite: I have re-written this "Rant" of sorts and addressed a lot of issues people have mentioned in the comments, such as lack of detail, Overly aggressive tone and general "Rage/Butthurt" like wording.
(This Re-write was put in place at the 250+ comments mark for those who are interested, so many of the comments were in fact valid points before this time)

There's just no words to describe how frustrated I am at some of the people in this community (And on the internet) for being so negative and immature to the man who had brain surgery and received a weapon from bungie for his suffering, I just cant seem to grasp how people can attack this man or make such cruel remarks about the issue. Now This is not about the gun or Bungie white knighting, They are just part of the original story, Completely irrelevant to my topic. I'm perfectly fine with people openly stating there opinion on the matter of who gets the gun and so on, thats all good, its how a lot of people seem to make some sort of sick and immoral remark everytime this comes up, For example;
Who gives a shit about some dude who had brain surgery 7 times, No one cares

F*** him, Just gime my FOAF and let the scrub die, I payed $60 to play a game not hear about some cancerous dude and his troubled life
I have seen posts like this everywhere from Reddit to these forums to youtube comments on videos of people talking about this, And I am truly sickened to see these kind of words come out peoples foul mouths. I just.. I don't know what to say honestly... How can people be so cruel? How do we do it? What is the trick behind being such a..Demon, to everything in this world that has even a hint of something we don't like.
Anyway... All my love and best wishes to him & his family. <3
EDIT: Link to article for people who don't know: http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Destiny-Player-Gets-Touching-Gift-From-Bungie-Following-Brain-Surgery-68247.html
EDIT TWO: I'd just like to mention this is not directed at everyone, Only the people who are being mean and foul. I don't mean to generalize everybody. Sorry for the confusion
EDIT THREE: I see the term "Pretentious" popping up here & there. Just wanted to point out that I write like this because I can get my point across without ranting like a child, using caps lock to emphasise myself and waving the F bomb around like a lunatic with no real sense of argument, debate or even paragraphing and spelling.

5 通の返信Has anyone actually checked the legitimacy of this? I mean, I understand that this is being reported by several sites on-line, but so far, I've only found that it originated on reddit. Is there any verification that this is the Real McCoy and not just some hoax by a user or a bit of free post-release goodwill hype by Bungie / Activi$ion?

Did you guys look at the picture of the gun in his inventory? I swear I saw some blue. Bungie should of hooked this guy up more!! Full set of 30 armor and a set of legendary guns would of been nice company to that sweet exotic.

4 通の返信Hey honey - get off your high horse. Literally no one cares what you think. You're no different than any other troll on this forum.

Its Great to hear that he is recovering, and using a game to help him at that :D. This is a community game and am glad to hear that they have come together to help out Eric on the VoG. People with negative thoughts should just be ignored, as it does nothing for this community. Feedback is completely different and should be used to help this game grow.

The play is redundant as you literally repeat the same missions over and over, it takes no mental capacity, and It's only served to dramatically reduce my productiveness because it's hard to find free time between a full time job and completing 6 weekly raids, 3x daily heroic, 3x daily bounties, material farming, and 4 weekly vault runs. By the time i finish it's the day before reset. And after a whole month of doing this, I still don't have a single level 30 char. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp.

Thanks for linking the article! I love to see this kind of community involvement, and while ashamed of some of the responses, I am sadly not surprised. I refuse to dwell on negatives though. To Trifecta01 and his family - best of luck in recovery and future health. I am slightly ashamed at how jealous I feel about your titanium plate, but you def more than earned it! As for the gun, give us some juicy details/a review if you have the time and feel up to it! Eyes up, Guardian - may the Light of the Traveler guide and protect you!

Well said!! I think that rifle should remain exclusive to him! That would be a nice way for Bungie to show the toxic members of its community that it means business!! We need more positivity in this community, and less whining!! #deej

4 通の返信I think most of the negativity comes from Xbox One players. I'd be pissed too if I had to look at those graphics all the time instead of something sharper, clearer, smoother, and overall more superior like the PS4 :(

17 通の返信iTackleFatChicksにより編集済み: 11/7/2014 7:30:11 PMThe only problem with what bungie did is giving this one guy special treatment just because he went through brain surgery. How many people in this world have gone through brain surgery? A -blam!-ing lot. That's how much. How many people actually have life ending diseases? A lot. Do you hear them asking bungie for special treatment in a video game? No. But now that bungie specially treated this one guy, everyone else that is diagnosed with something or has gone through some type of surgery will be asking bungie for the same treatment. I say they take it back because he honestly doesn't deserve better treatment than everyone else.

You must remember that people here are not spending their free time doing charitable work, they're here wasting their time on a video game. This is the broad generalization of gamers of this generation. The anonymity of internet make these cave dwellers, who lack in self-esteem, seek to fill their void with deaf opinions on a forum, more proud than any generation before them. I have no problem with Bungie doing this, I won't see this guy online lol; doesn't affect me and it doesn't affect anyone. These gamers "feel" that it is unfair that someone got something that they didn't get a chance to have; more so that this guy has done nothing to deserve this. They know this is how the world works but they refuse to accept this reality and rage on. There are fair arguments out there as well but calling them disgusting is unwarranted. No one really knows the player nor care about his well-being. Gamers here are arguing for their own sake or arguing for argument sake to satisfy their pent up frustration with Bungie. This is a generalization. Of course not everyone is this way, lets not make this argument, it's overdone and uncreative. Gamers are an impatient, selfish, narcissistic bunch; I myself included. It takes one to know one.

Yeah. Bad mouth someone who's suffering simply because they get something you don't, or get it before you have a chance to. It's a -blam!-ing game people. Grow the -blam!- up, it's not like Bungie randomly picked someone from the user pool to do this with. They didn't have to do anything but they chose to reach out.

Thinking about this, there are times when I wish I was given a free, exclusive weapon. Just some random act of kindness of sorts by Bungie. But, seriously, that's not the way the world works. As for this guy who got the Fate of all Fools....correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he an employee at Bungie as well? Or is he a close friend or something? Whatever the case, what he's going through is something frightening, something I would never want to experience, but only time will tell on that one. There are those who are claiming "Oh, Bungie did this just to get good publicity." Perhaps so, but though I don't know Bungie very well (despite over a decade of familiarity with them), I don't think they prioritize publicity over kindness. But this also reminds me of something....back in 2008, I saw a video on YouTube, uploaded by some gamer who was going to start some series, and there was a skit in the video that had some other player in the game-world (Halo 3, or Halo ODST?) bitching about how the gamer got Recon Armor and how he thinks he doesn't deserve it, and near the end of the skit he made reference to someone getting hit with a traffic cone.....sadly I don't remember the rest in perfect detail, and I don't know if I can even find the video on YouTube anymore. The guy who uploaded the video did make a series called "Arbie & Chief"; that detail I remember, so maybe some of you may know who I'm talking about.....point here is that Bungie giving something to a certain player due to cruel circumstances may not be anything new. However, I don't know very much about that, and for fear that I be misunderstood, I'm not trying to criticize or chastise Bungie or anything. Anyway, those who are bitching about Bungie giving one guy out of millions an exclusive weapon need to stop, especially considering how if you say to them "The guy's undergoing 11 brain surgeries," they'll just respond, "I DON'T CARE I WANT MY FOAF NAAAOOOO!!!11". I want to think that these people are a minority....but for being a minority, they sure are loud, which could put them on the same level as the majority. :/

18 通の返信abakaiにより編集済み: 11/7/2014 6:58:02 AMI'm actually ashamed to technically be a member of the same species as these idiots. I normally don't take these forums too seriously but after reading some of the comments I literally started to shake with anger and started feeling nauseous. I can't believe some of these people are aloud contact with normal human beings.
