I don't know if this has already been posted, but I thought this was great;

'Fellow Guardians,
Yesterday I had a post talking about my husband and his Doctor recommending Destiny to serve as a form of physical therapy for him following several brain surgeries. This community was amazing, and raid groups are being organized for him out of all the people who offered to help him.
But just as amazing, Deej contacted me and has sent my husband a care package from Bungie that is on the way. Then this morning, a message from Deej told us to have my husband check the post master. Lots of screaming ensued.
He has been sent the exotic gun Fate Of All Fools, a solar primary that is currently thought to be released in the upcoming Trials of Osiris-- and if not then with the next DLC.
Vision of Confluence had been my husbands dream weapon, as scout is his favorite and he wanted that solar damage. A more perfect weapon could not have been chosen. I'm so jealous, but mostly so damn happy for him. As for him-- well, you can imagine :)'

1 返信Here everyone thought bungie had abandoned them but no. Bungie, you have my respect.

7 通の返信Don't worry, Xur will sell it tomorrow anyways. And DLC will make it obsolete. Enjoy your fake prize

I think most people are pissy because they know they're too scrub to get their own when trials is out. The way you kids cry about the pvp parts of the exotic bounties is hilarious. Just wait til you see what you need for fate.

That is awesome good on you Bungie. Hope the man in question makes a full and speedy recovery. I just lost my mother to COPD and as devastating as it is having xbox and destiny has been helping me escape reality. Keep up the good work Bungie and once again wishing the guy lots of fun with his new gun. All the best to you and your family :)

6 通の返信anyone who thinks this is anything more than a publicity stunt on bungies behalf is lacking brain cells. what have bungie actually done? typed in a piece of code? they have done literally as little as possible for cancer sufferers.

I don't like Bungies decisions too lately, but why even bother being negative about this. You can't help everyone. But a nice gesture like this is exactly that... A NICE GESTURE for a poor fellow... There is a lot more negative to say about Bungie, but not about this. Have some phucking decency! Just goes to show, how low a level of intellengence and basic human understanding some people on these forums have... Pathetic....

as a person that has lost a close family member last year to a brain tumor at 34 years old, (brother-in-law) I think Bungie did a good thing for this guy... great job Bungie.. you made his day... http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Destiny-Player-Gets-Touching-Gift-From-Bungie-Following-Brain-Surgery-68247.html

1 返信This is an awesome thing to see and hear about. The part that I find best, is no one asked for anything but rather, people held out a helping hand and came together like a respectable community. And the fact that Bungie saw this and did something as a thank you for being a part of their community and more or less a get well gift, while not making any sort of statement to the public simply to get attention for doing such a thing, is huge.

12 通の返信I don't believe this for one second. My late father dealt with work related head trauma and brain injuries which required physical and mental therapy for a number of years. No reputable doctor he ever saw would have recommended video games except for those which were designed specifically to task cognition centers of the brain (think of sites like Luminosity or games like the old Brain Age games on DS). Destiny is more hand-eye coordination brain training more than cognition training. Hand-eye coordination physical therapy is done better through physical activity, even post brain surgery so, again, I don't see any doctors telling patients to play video games. Even if they did, I don't believe they'd name any ONE video game specifically. Nothing about her story passes the smell test. Notice how in later posts she claimed there'd be a video, but the husband had to go to work. Another red flag: Someone who needs physical therapy from "several brain surgeries" is not like to be going to work. Call me negative all you want but until and unless I hear this from DeeJ himself in a weekly update, I call BS on this. I've dealt directly with family members going through such therapy so I guarantee I have a better view of this situation than most people who can't see beyond their "feels".
