Hahaha sorry for having an extended vocabulary. I did not know using such words meant that a person was trying to be clever. By your words I can only assume you have judged me as some sort of pseudo smarty pants. Since you did not want me to elaborate in any particular way, I am going to write how I prefer. But if you want it in laymen's terms your more than welcome to use a dictionary, or ask next time ;-) So back to the point eh. Have you ever played Bioshock that's an FPS. But did you know it's also a very clever game. It's philosophy is based on objectivism. Do you know what this is?? Well let me explain briefly. Developed by Ayn Rands, the main tenants of this philosophy is that reality exists independent of our consciousnesses. And we perceive our reality through our senses, we the can obtain something called objective knowledge based on our perceptual experiences. Also that the purpose of oneself is to pursue our own happiness. But think about that. It sounds selfish right? But don't we do things that make others happy which in turn makes us happy? But also she believed in personal pursuits and that from these the individual should profit from it. If you play the game you will notice it. But I also see strong elements of a brave new world in Bioshock. A dystopia based on Americanism. There are other clever things in the game like the tombstone of John Maynard Keynes son of Adam Smith. Adam smith was a proponent of free market and little government intervention. Then you have Keynes who was genius and promoted the idea of government intervention in order to stave of market failures. And put it this way in the UK we have had two governments that have done the opposite of what Keynes suggested. We had Labour who in good times decided to inject more into the economy (bad idea) then we had the recession and a conservative government that decided to cut government spending again bad idea. Both did the opposite of what Keynes said to do in those times. But I digress, my point is that Destiny has no depth to it. They cover the story with sad lines like "I don't even have time to explain why I don't have have time to explain." Maybe is clever for a cod boy, but to me this is just lazy. This game is so simple it's beyond belief. There isn't even any background to the game. I could add my own clever explanations with things but that's like reading a book and filling in the blanks. But like I said COD fans don't want to think, they like going around quick scoping and killing for no reason. I guess that is a bit presumptuous of me, maybe some cod fans do like to think and they do, and escape to a brain numbing game so they don't have to think. I hope I haven't lost you. I hope you have understood what I was talking about. I guess I made an assumption that you too knew that the game was dumb. My mistake, I hope I have pointed it out to you.
