*Reposting my last thread to add poll*
Destiny launched with major flaws in it's behind the scene loot system and an abysmal lack of interesting content, and has survived due to it's better than average gunplay mechanics. Possibly the best I've ever played. Now that we've got that out of the way....
Why is there still no matchmaking on weekly heroic and nightfall strikes? We've all excused it for a long time and it should have been fixed weeks ago. I had to troll Destiny's clan forums to find people to play with and even with the deeper friends list, it is difficult to coordinate teams to do the weekly strike. THE ONLY ONE THAT MATTERS. At level 29, there is very little in this game that makes me feel rewarded after completion, and often times I'm just sitting in the tower on my phone looking for people to play with. Which brings me to....
The raid. The raid is a grind. The only way to maximize your level is to get the raid gear, something you can only attempt twice a week unless you have multiple characters of the same class. (Something I think is ridiculous. Why make the same character twice?) While I absolutely think that reaching level cap should be challenging, the way in which that task is handled in destiny lends itself to monotony. You are forced to fight the same fights not because you want them or maybe even found them particularly enjoyable, but because you have to. It's the only way to advance. And of course, without matchmaking this is a chore. Why do you think everyone was bumping aetheon off the map in the first place? Having to fight him over and over again is boring. And that leads me to...
The expansion. It looks like good value for twenty bucks. I won't deny that. The problem is, the expansion is a month away. Everything else in this game has already been done to death after only two months! While it's worth the twenty dollar price tag as an expansion, it's much too little to last us until the expansion that will come after. This game was so lacking in content from the beginning that it would need much more frequent content additions to hold gamer attention, especially considering the only way to play is to grind missions. MMO's give you free reign to go many different places and that's how they hold your attention, but since destiny is all objective based missions it does not have that free form feel that gives it longevity. It just isn't it's own world.
I can't shake the feeling that huge swaths of the content in this game was abandoned on some drawing board a long time ago. After I get level 30, what is there left for players to do? Crucible can't keep it going with only four modes that have too similar objectives. Most people just play it to complete bounties. This is it. This is all there is. Forever.
Maybe ten years was a little bit over ambitious. Right now I'm questioning whether or not there will be support for this game after just one.
*Edit* yeah I almost forgot the crucible. Fun gameplay. I've already complained about samey game types so I'll spare you this time. One thing I still find to be a horrid is the lack of a map vote like in black ops. Too many times I end up playing the same damn map two or three times in a row. In what multiplayer shooter has that ever been the case? With popular maps like nuketown in COD it was kind of annoying, but at least there it was because people voted for that map. This playlist system is just flat out broken and this is even more disappointing considering its Bungie, a company with a depth of experience in multiplayer shooters. Halo never had this problem. Why is it so blatant and apparently unfixable or un-patchworthy here?

Pre-paid, so I guess I got to try it out once it's released. But just started WoW again. And I can honestly say that going back to destiny other than weekly raid is going to take a lot of convincing. :S. Sad really, cause I love the game...

1 返信Honestly it's just having a rough start. Wait and see one year from now. Things will be better. Although I am raising an eyebrow at destiny 2 being in the works. Aside from all the garbage we have to put up with, this game has really brought us something fresh. AND it's free aside from the gold. Although I personally wouldn't mind paying 10 extra dollars a month if they actually fixed things and prevented all these hacks and provided servers worth playing on etc. You get what you pay for pretty much. A lot of you think you payed too much for nothing. Go get a return. This is a decent game with a hell of a lot of potential. The fact that they have done some patches shows that they do care. (maybe not as much as they should, but still there is effort) there is hope. We just need to hang in is all, at least for a year.
