Main points of the article:
- Drops Dec 9th
- There will be new weapons and armor, including legendaries and exotics, and five additional Bounty slots.
- The Dark Below will also introduce three new competitive multiplayer maps: Pantheon, Skyshock, and The Cauldron.
- Those on PlayStation platforms will gain access to an additional cooperative Strike dubbed The Undying Mind and more as an exclusive until Fall 2015.
- In The Dark Below, a new character Eris will arrive at the Tower to deliver an ominous warning: that The Hive plans to summon a powerful god, Crota, to destroy Earth
- The Dark Below will raise the maximum Light Level to 32
- One new Raid: Crota's End
So a few thoughts.
1. Three new story missions? Thats it?
2. There is ONE new strike and it is an exclusive until 2015 for PS4? Edit: it has been clarified that there are likely two strikes one is exclusive. Still one new strike for xbox is not enough.
Well I said I needed to see what the DLC was going to offer. Apparently the "additional bounty capacity" DeeJ mentioned yesterday is pay for content as well.
I'll keep playing with my kids, but otherwise I am done. It's not likely they will need this DLC before they are bored with Destiny as well. I don't think you withheld content anymore Bungie. I just think your game was no where near ready and you pushed out a shell to meet a contract obligation with Activision. It's been an utterly underwhelming ride of broken promises and terrible community relations.

2 通の返信Well, the story is unsalvageable anyway, so 3 ot 6 chapters isnt going to make much of a difference anyway. Besides, how often do we replay story mode? I would have liked to see more strikes and more explorable territory, that is where I spend most of my time. And a decent amount of new armour and weapons would be nice too, the current selection is so limited that is a joke.

2 通の返信SubjectNameにより編集済み: 10/30/2014 7:26:34 PMYou know, maybe my expectations are out of whack, maybe not. But this is not what I was expecting. First off, calling it an expansion pack has certain connotations in the gaming world, versus just calling it dlc: typically, an expansion pack has nearly the same amount of content as a full game. It usually costs nearly as much too. Now I say nearly, because it can vary a lot from game to game. Now regular old DLC will usually have a few (3-7 maybe) hours of content, and be significantly cheaper, like the Borderlands DLC. This isn't expansion worthy material here, not by a longshot. I was hoping for many more pve missions, somewhere approaching 10 or 15. How can you tell a coherent, complete, and fulfilling story in 3 missions? You can't. And only two light levels? Most expansions raise the level cap by 5-10. I was expecting the new level cap to be at least 25, and the light level cap to be 35. What happened? At half the price, this would have been great DLC, something to tide us over until a real expansion was released: new planets, new story filled missions, new gameplay features (think sparrow races or space combat patrols or melee equipable weapons or new vehicle types), and new raids (more than 1), an actual level cap increase that mattered, new base classes and races each complete with their own unique sub-story missions, new sub-classes, and new skills for every existing sub-class. Maybe Bungie has something planned like this. Maybe not. Who knows?

2 通の返信ELRaSunにより編集済み: 10/30/2014 2:09:33 AMI'm a little worried that in the reveal interview, when asked if the storytelling will be done differently, he asked, "Have you done the Thorn bounty?" What does that mean? Lol, that was the worst one. Eff Xyor the Unwed, lol. All jokes aside, I do wonder what that means:
"You say it'll be different in the DLC, but how exactly? Harold Ryan: Have you done the Thorn exotic quest? I'm right at the end and need someone to help me with the last stage. Harold Ryan: So, looking at how the exotic quests work, like the Thorn quest, was the inspiration for how we're attempting to tell the story in this expansion. And so it's going to feel much more emergent and interactive in the world as you play through and unlock the story of Eris."
I was foolish enough to pre order the the dlc expansion pack in september. Now i realise it was a huge mistake, so i decided i make a cancellation request. I contacted the xbox sales team and i do what i need. The sales person tell me unfortunatelly the game publisher not allowed a refund. I can make a cancellation request but i will lose my money. I was very upset! Fortunatelly the sales agent see that and offer me a courtesy cancellation request. He was forwarding my request to the microsoft sales team and tell me i will get a message about the decision. The sales team accepted my request and cancelled my pre-order along with 100% money back refund. Thank god for the microsoft and shame on you activison! I learned a lesson: never ever again pre order any dlc! (or even never pre order anything) Now i can save the refunded money for the new upcoming dragon age inquisition. If bungie doesn't hear the voice of the gamers i will immediately stop playing destiny when the dragon age released! BUNGIE YOU JUST LOSE ONE (ONCE A LOYAL) GAMER! and many more will come...

DLC for Final Fantasy: New class, with a complete storyline for it New raids. With an S. New Primal fight. New Hard Mode dungeons(with a new storyline and bosses for each) New crafting recipes. New main story questlines. Multiple new side questlines. I understand that is a subscription game, but it also shows how utterly lazy bungie has become in every way. Their game, DLC, and effort has been so shady, and 2 faced, and lies upon lies. Recap: -Morrowind, 15 years old, beats this game in depth, story, map, characters and every other thing, except graphics.... -Destiny takes about 6 hours, to level from 0-26 (excluding the raid, thats the ENTIRE game beat) 6 hours, for the "new thing in gaming" -You could add other games DLC, and their size would beat all of Destinys size, for the actual GAME. By the time we pay, for 4 DLC's, it will have cost more than the game itself, and after 4 DLC, it MIGHT be a full game....a year away, when its dead already.

I've been holding off on the "hate" all of this time - explaining to people that "don't worry guys, we will get most of the new planets and some more cool stuff in the DLC". Well, -blam!- me sideways - I tried to believe and got kicked in the teeth by this rubbish. 3 missions and all in the same locations? I'm sorry, i'm a game dev and this is just lazy as -blam!-.

Not a surprise lol How much will you bet that they are dinklebot hacking a door then you have to beat 3 waves of enemies And the strike consists if 3 waves and then a larger bullet sponge version of an enemy that's already in the game

41 通の返信Hmmm, Somehow I just can't see spending twenty bucks for minimal content. Three PVE Story missions, Three PVP Crucible maps, Think two Strike Missions, one if your xbox? A new six player raid. And more ways for RNG To torture us. . . .so that's only another small fraction of the story which should have been in from the start, new multiplayer maps, tedious vanguard maps and a new raid for Bungie to throw a pissyfit when Guardians beat conquer it faster than they anticipated. I can't imagine this being worthy of twenty dollars when it'll more than likely be finished in an hour or two. Unfortunately I got the season pass, so once that's up I'll probably put the game on the shelf until it's either fixed or I forget about it. :/

This is completely unacceptable. You want us to pay an extra 1/3 of the cost of the game barely two months after launch to put in enough content to make the game worth the original $60. The number of weapons/armor was never the games problem, it was the amount of content in it. The real kick in the teeth though is that as an XBox player, I'm only getting 1/3 of the content I really care about (strikes/raids) compared to the PS4 players who aren't paying any more for the privilege, despite almost 1/4 of the total number of strikes being PS4 specific. How is this even remotely fair?

3 通の返信Taero により編集済み: 10/30/2014 3:10:44 PMI'm sorry, I've defended Destiny's story to quite a few people, happen to think it isn't as bad as everyone makes it up. But ONLY if grimoire is taken into account and you actually listen to Dinklebot. I think it was a terrible way to actually TELL the story but the story itself is okay. But enough is enough, in my eyes, 1/3 of the price should result in 1/3 of the original content especially if they can re-use initial designs, mobs, planets. How many stories were there, 20? This is literally 60% of the story missions of ONE PLANET, really? I would expect double that in story missions, and strikes, and multi maps, and bounties, items, quests. Or some equivalent, e.g. I don't need a million more weapons, what I would replace that with is skin customization. But this is nowhere near 1/3 of the content of the original game. Also Bungie, having random people talking to you telling you to go pick up robot cores, or wires, or go stand in a cave for a while is not what a quest should be...Take WoW as an example, don't worry that it's a true MMORPG, I'm focusing on the content only, would you say that the original WoW, without any DLC or updates, had more or less content than Destiny? I wouldn't expect to finish the game in 12 hours that's for sure. Did other games somehow have some magic that meant that their quests didn't have to be 'kill x and go to y'? What about named mobs with stories, buildings with lore behind it, QUESTLINES?! We've had the industry ability for progressive instanced content (deathknight content WoW, years ago). The world could have changed, we could have left an effect on it, we only have like 11 other guardians around us anyway on patrol so it's not like we'd notice other people aren't where we are. What was stopping the mobs changing as we worked through strikes/instances/stories? You mean you seriously couldn't have had quest givers in with your story? Most online games have a central story that you work towards but they also have side stories that enlighten you as to the world, background, characters, emotions etc. Destiny has none of this... Now I know they have subscription fees so perhaps that's not fair, what about Guild Wars 2, as far as I'm aware they have no subscription fee and they still release/have more content than Destiny including having an effect on the world, but perhaps that's the microtransactions? If I could buy new shaders for a dollar in Destiny and knew that this would give me the kind of content diversity/amount as some of the other games then bring it on. As it is those three story missions will take about 60 - 90 minutes to get through, the raid? Sure, hours to begin with, later? 1-2 hours. PvP? I guess if you like PvP then there's that, but it's no different to battlegrounds in other games. The strikes, we'll do them once, either go 'wow these are awesome, more like the raid' or go 'eh, another bullet sponge boss gg' and then run them ad infinatum on strike playlists we're overleveled for. So I'm paying $20 for what is in effect about 5 hours of content and the ability to replay that content over and over (but make no mistake, that doesn't count as 'content' no more than hitting reset on a game and playing it again, or doing no hp item runs on old games makes it new content). Or maybe I'm wrong...doubt it though, I would expect this kind of content to be FREE and be the kind of things that are released bit by bit weekly between DLC. New story mission one week, new pvp the next, new strike the next etc. Each week I get something new leading up to the raid and then BOOM new DLC with new planet full of stories, strikes etc. not 'eh, here's some content, see you again in a few months for a few more story missions'
