Main points of the article:
- Drops Dec 9th
- There will be new weapons and armor, including legendaries and exotics, and five additional Bounty slots.
- The Dark Below will also introduce three new competitive multiplayer maps: Pantheon, Skyshock, and The Cauldron.
- Those on PlayStation platforms will gain access to an additional cooperative Strike dubbed The Undying Mind and more as an exclusive until Fall 2015.
- In The Dark Below, a new character Eris will arrive at the Tower to deliver an ominous warning: that The Hive plans to summon a powerful god, Crota, to destroy Earth
- The Dark Below will raise the maximum Light Level to 32
- One new Raid: Crota's End
So a few thoughts.
1. Three new story missions? Thats it?
2. There is ONE new strike and it is an exclusive until 2015 for PS4? Edit: it has been clarified that there are likely two strikes one is exclusive. Still one new strike for xbox is not enough.
Well I said I needed to see what the DLC was going to offer. Apparently the "additional bounty capacity" DeeJ mentioned yesterday is pay for content as well.
I'll keep playing with my kids, but otherwise I am done. It's not likely they will need this DLC before they are bored with Destiny as well. I don't think you withheld content anymore Bungie. I just think your game was no where near ready and you pushed out a shell to meet a contract obligation with Activision. It's been an utterly underwhelming ride of broken promises and terrible community relations.

3 通の返信xypherにより編集済み: 10/30/2014 5:04:26 PMThe thing that is killing me about this DLC is not that it is so little (strictly talking about the story missions - 3 is little, but not my main point), but that I can't trust Bungie and be excited for these STORY missions. If the full game tells me anything, I can't help but imagine these 3 new missions will be nothing short of the same, tired, 30 second to 1 minute cutscenes at the beginning of the missions, stating how I need to kill this big bad guy, or to find some mainframe to scan that tells me what this big bad guy is trying to do. Literally, when I think back to the full game at this point I can't recall anything relevant that meant something, or helped me figure out a big part of the game. There were no "HOLY CRAP, WOW," OR "AWESOME" moments. I remember something called Rasputin, a couple of boss enemies that I had to kill just because they are of the opposite faction, and that is pretty much it. How are you going to expand the story so great with 3 story missions? Unless each story mission is at least an hour in length - you can't. I just can't help, but already feel disappointed that I will be getting the 3 same story missions I have already done on the moon before. 1 will probably entail me killing some sort of Knight/Wizard boss at the end. Another will probably be about finding some generic Hive mainframe somewhere - then scan it. All will unfortunately involve a 0/3 wave of enemies at some point (where your passage is blocked until said wave is dead). Sigh - I have the season pass so I get all of the DLC - and I will say I can't wait for the raids, but man I wish this game gave me a cool story. Help me forge a fun adventure and make me truly feel like I am forging my own destiny and making a difference...

1 返信Super upset I already bought them. It's just money, but money I wish I didn't give to them.

10 通の返信I'm personally furious over this. I'm so angry that Bungir would do this crap to Xbox and Destiny players. ONE strike. Thats how my money is going to be spent. Ridiculous, unacceptable and so much more. I may never buy another Bungie item ever again if this DLC and the second DLC are how they are in this statement. I'm a die hard Bungie player but they're pushing my devotion now.

1 返信Yes theres 3... not like traditional ones. But more exotic bounty style with multiple steps... get educated before whining

2 通の返信Considering most games make you par $10 just for the three maps. I'd say an additional ten for the three missions, two strikes (Sorry X1), and another raid is worth it.

1 返信was gonna give this game one last chance to redeem itself. sadly i already bought the season pass so they got me there. but i am definitely not buying the next installments of destiny after this one.

3 通の返信Luckdog26により編集済み: 10/31/2014 1:38:53 AMSo here's the thing. Eris will bring us new 'Quests' and 3 new story missions. Bungie's CEO has told us that the story missions in the DLC are being presented and told in a different way to the thematically presented story in the launch game. Thematically, meaning the story is told in the context of the mission. Therefore we could be seeing 3 much longer and possibly more cinematic story missions, also we don't know what those other 'Quests' are. They could be smaller missions which are not part of the DLC story. Or they could be new Bounties, we will see.

7 通の返信The funniest thing about people complaining about the DLC is the fact that they try and enforce their point by only mentioning 10% of the dlc. The amount of people i've seen write these few sentences is overwhelming; "$15 For One strike is ridiculous" "Why should i have to pay $15 for only three story missions?" "$30 for six missions" "$15 For one extra raid" No mention of the 20+ Guns they're adding, Nor the new standard armour sets for each class and the raid armour for each class. The new exotics, new Crucible maps. New Class specific items, strikes, a raid, new missions & bounties, new areas unlocked etc. Apart from Elder scrolls games, i've never seen so much content added to a $15 DLC..

1 返信What kills me with this DLC "if you want to call it that" is how little were getting for paying what was it 15 bucks? I mean shit.. 2 whole levels, 5 more bounty slots, 1 strike for xbox at launch 2 for ps4 as one is a timed exclusive and 3 story missions. I mean shit at least world of warcraft gives 5 levels, 5-7 dungeons, a -blam!- ton of story, 1-2 raids for the 1st tier and new pvp zones + talents when they do their expansions. Yea I get it this dlc wasn't in development as long as a wow expansion so it lacks content. and for good reason too as half of that shit was already on the disk and developed when they were busy gutting the game when Joe left a year ago. I really hope this game gets it together in the coming months as anyone who plays cod and world of warcraft will be jumping ship for a looooooong while when those games respective launch dates come.

3 通の返信I bet during these "new" missions you will have to go somewhere and have your ghost buddy scan something, only to be attacked by a wave of enemies.

I feel the problem with Destiny is a lot of it's players played many rpg games. So when we see (including myself) the word expansion, we feel it's going to be a ton of content. Now for for players who are use to the COD 3-4 map dlc are okay with it, because that is what they are use too. As for me I'll be passing up on expansion, because even though I found Destiny fun at first, I'm already pooped on the content we have now. Plus no story and reasons of my actions in the game didn't help either.

Slicedmassにより編集済み: 10/31/2014 4:03:32 AM-blam!-en just hilarious that Bungie is making you buy an expansion with absolutely 100% withheld content until fall 2015 for the xbone users. I'm a ps4 player so it doesn't affect me but holy shit, it's one thing to completely delay DLC for a console. It's another to sell you it at full price and lock you out for 3 months. Same goes for the launch game too.

1 返信Disappointed by the fact that the addition bounty capacity will not be free. I'm no programming expert, but is it very hard to implement this in the game by a hotfix or update?

2 通の返信Well, the story is unsalvageable anyway, so 3 ot 6 chapters isnt going to make much of a difference anyway. Besides, how often do we replay story mode? I would have liked to see more strikes and more explorable territory, that is where I spend most of my time. And a decent amount of new armour and weapons would be nice too, the current selection is so limited that is a joke.
