Bungie, what the hell happened to you guys?

The Activision mentality contaminated them

46

They never knew what they were doing anyway

3

This is who they really are

4

Who Cares? I'm moving on! (halo, CoD, other)

6

I don't know what you mean, Bungie is Perfect!

I've played games my whole life and there were some great games that really lead to my excitement over gaming. (Super Mario Bros, Tecmo Super Bowl, Super Contra, Mario Cart, Goldeneye, Halo 1,2 & 3) I came to love the experience of gaming from a social standpoint. Some of my really good friends in real life I met over Xbox Live playing Halo 2 & 3. Bungie, I've always been a fan of yours. I've cheered and championed you as a team and a developer that cares about it's community. The bottom line is ...YOU SOLD OUT! There was a time when Bungie was synonymous with a company that cared about it's community. The developers were gamers to the core. The understood what real gaming was about. They created arguably the greatest game series of all time in Halo by accident trying to make a different style of game, but ran out of time and ended up with, IMO, the greatest game ever! ***For those that wanna say this is just hate or sour grapes, I've got well over 10 days of gametime in and have 1 level 30 a 28 and I'm leveling my third character. I've beaten the raid over 20 times legit on normal and 3 times legit on hard. I've paid my dues and had success... so this is NOT sour grapes*** Let me just start with a list of my frustrations with Destiny and your mindset behind it. - The release was awful, glitchy your party system never worked. You tried to blame it on Xbox (Microsoft), but it works with other games fine. I though that Grand Theft Auto V had a bad release with their online system, but at least they gave you a tone of content. The false promise and proposed DLCs with no real timetable are just as bad, if not worse, than what most people would argue was the worst game rollout ever! - This DLC concept is ridiculous. It took you 10 years to build this game and you still released a half-assed story and an incomplete game. You don't even have enough content to get 70%(rough estimate) of the users through the full first 2 months of your game. Yes, you've had map-packs in the past, but that was delivering stuff that the community was asking for. Not a greedy way to get more money for delivering parts of the game that should've been there when it was released. - Your drop system... Wow! That could sum it all up, but I'll expound. Your drop system is so ridiculous that it really is tough to put into words. The idea that the drops should be 100% random is the most absurd idea that I have ever heard. What you have done is push the community that supported you away. The community that believed you get rewarded for what you do. Higher skill gets faster rewards right? Nope, you have made a sci-fi version of Call of Duty that actually has a worse leveling system. I never though it was possible to have a worse leveling system than CoD, but, bravo, you did it! At least CoD is time based you put in the time you get rewarded. With Destiny you get???Ahh, who the hell knows! - Your servers are atrocious. You knew coming into the release of this game that there would be an enormous demand for the game, so we weren't prepared is NOT a valid excuse. You're so concerned with your "Raid" being "hard enough" that you fix the glitches and break the game in the process. Really?? Your servers are some of the worst that I have played on in recent memory. Worse than CoD:Ghosts in my opinion. - You want the game to have the social aspect of an MMO, but you can't communicate with anyone not in your fireteam, you can't talk to others at the tower, you can't talk to TEAMMATES in matchmaking, you can't trade guns between your characters without tediously bouncing back and forth between characters and the tower vaults, there's no ability to trade armor with your friends or randoms, you don't want farming with is a characteristic of MMOs, but yet you'll fix the most ridicukous glitches and exploits. In my opinion, all you have done over the last few months is prove that you are way more about the money than the game. I know that this is a business and you have to make money. I'm not naive. You have taken it beyond being a business though. You've gotten greedy. You partnered with Activision and now you behave like them. Greedy pigs, that have no concern for the community that supports you. Activision has come under fire for years for behaving this way in the CoD world. I guess as a community we were wrong to think that you would stick to your principles and that maybe you would influence Activision for the betterment of the gaming community. Has that even remotely happened? Let me answer a resounding, "HELL NO!' What you fail to realize is that your arrogance, or maybe the arrogance born of the partnership with Activision, is going to cost you. I hear all over Reddit, industry gaming forums and even in your own forum, people saying how excited they are for other games to come out so they can sell or trade in Destiny for the other games. That's a shame because you could've done so much more and so much better had you stuck to your roots. You don't have much time to save the probably close to 50% gamers you are going to lose to other games like myself, so whatever you're gonna try and do to fix it...you better do it pretty freaking quick! • This is well put, when I heard activision bought Bungie I knew they had sold out. I was severely worried about destiny once this happened. I knew that all competition would be stripped from the multiplayer because activision doesn't know how to create a competitive game and likes to give points to people just for playing even if people suck which is stupid. I also knew it would become about money and not gaming which is beginning to show its hand by being true with bungie. Fortunately this game was fun for the last almost 2 months, I have enjoyed it because it is better than anything else on this garbage xbox one system microsoft created that is slow because of no ram and full of constant bugs. It feels a lot like halo reach (reach was the worst of the halos fyi) in many aspects, but includes many other game styles including: COD, Borderlands, mass effect and others.... Yes I have played a lot, but I am the type of person I find a game and keep playing that. Where destiny and bungie have failed is in continued playability. With no competition, once you "beat the story," there is no longer a reason to play. I will be moving on to the Master Chief Collection, as will at least 15 of my xbox live friends. Sidenote: No one I have asked says they will be still playing reach "cough" I mean destiny in the near future. Only 25% of the people I have asked said they will purchase the DLC. Sadly, Halo 2 and 3 are looking to be BUNGIE's last great creations.

 • They inked a contract with Activision. Who butt -blam!-ed them and the shit rolled down hill in to our laps. The game is fun but it's obvious it would have been better if Bungie had full control of the end product.

 • I fully agree. Before the game came out I was completely skeptical on the game. I told all my friends I wouldn't buy, but in the end I did. First playing it I realized that it was an alright game, until further inspection that the game was completely RNG based, you have no way to make your Guardian you want it to, Crucible is a joke of a multiplayer, and countless, countless other problems. Anyone who has bought this game that I know has returned it, and sadly having the digital ed. I won't be able to do that. Come in a few days, I will no longer be playing Destiny, and will devote my money (sadly) to another game that will keep me busy for more than 5 weeks. In the end all I have to say is shame on you Bungie, you released a -blam!-ing joke of a game and you just derailed your company.
