I think once I fully upgrade it, it will be fine in PVE. But for PvP there are much better options. People just make too big a deal about it, I know it's been in matches I've been in with my Shadow Price, but I've only been killed by it maybe 4-5 times I've seen. It might be getting a lot of play right now bc it's on sale with Xur but that'll die down again. SUROS is fine, I don't see it being much more special than other Autos.
