Gamer Girl Proposal
Did I get your attention? Let's start off with the confession that I'm not a female at all. I'm a bro. A brogamer. So without further ado:
Have you ever seen a thread that opens with those words... "gamer girl", or just mentions gender out of context within the body. We know what is going on.
Have you ever thought: "I would love to address the content of this post and have an actual discussion but I'm too dumbfounded and/or annoyed by the tactic used to get this thread to trend" ?
I think we can all agree that flaunting the female gender without purpose solely to get friends, followers, likes, replies, [attention], is poor forum etiquette, and we have enough issues in this community as it is.
I'd propose to the forum community that is sick of these attention grabs that we:
1. Not respond positive or negative to these posts even if they irk us.
2. If we want to discuss the content of those posts, copy the body of the email and create a new topic, without the girly glitz, and begin discussion anew, giving the original author credit so as not to plagiarize but without mentioning their gender.
3. Ignore the white knighters who are pretty much always a friend zoned guy friends trying his hardest to break down the walls of confinement. They'll always claim something else entirely like having a wife or GF or whatever, but we know what the truth is.
What say you?

Those "I'm a girl shower me with attention" topics are what get basically ALL us girls the "attention whore" title. One person sees it and then they label us all... Not all of us expect to be treated differently because we're female. I sure don't. I don't want to be treated differently.... I just wanna play my damn game without any unnecessary drama. In most cases I will not reveal that I'm female. There is no need to. I'm just the same as anyone else. A lot of the time once you reveal that you're female you will get called some really shitty stuff. Most of the time I will just keep my mouth shut so I'm not called a whore, slut, or any of the other creative things people come up with... I like your proposal but it's something that will happen regardless...

I agree to a point. When gender is brought up (any gender, or even transgender) just aimlessly, or for the sole obvious purpose of attention seeking, and not due to a question/issue/survey that has to deal with a particular set of circumstances, then it is entirely ridiculous. There's got to be an obvious line between category-specific (I dislike using that word) statements that directly affect a point or purpose, versus the kind of posts that I think you specifying. Am I correct in my comprehension of your point?

1 返信The way I see it is anyone who has to mention something like gender, colour, sexuality or what ever is only doing it for there own purpose and to gain what ever attention they seem to need from it. Being a "gamer" has nothing to do with these things. I don't care if your male, female, black, white, gay, transgender, good or crap just as your here to enjoy the game and have fun with other players. If you're an attention seeker, elitist, a total asshole or just have another hidden agenda going on then I don't have the time for you. Simple.

1 返信Seems legit. Not even sure why people add "girl" in front of gamer. Since when does the word gamer imply a sex? In my opinion, youre either good and friendly, or bad and annoying. No need for genders because I only care about whether or not I can play with you and not bash my head into something.
