The Mystery about the Gorgon's Maze
Dear Destiny Community
As some of you may know, the RAID is not finished. somehow we missed something. We guess it is in the Gorgon's Maze.
Becouse just running true there in 50 sec can't be the solution. And when u look up the Raid in the Destiny App, you'll see that you will have finished 3 out of 4 "things" in the Raid.
So we started to do some research on the Gorgons. and we went far :)
In the greece mythologie, there are 3 gorgons, one of them, which is killable is called: Medusa. And it also says, they had to walk backwarts to it, to kill it. So our guess is, that there is a hidden boss in the gorgon's maze. And the greece mythologie contuniues with them taking Medusas head to kill the other Gorgons. Today we'll try to send the relikt down to the maze, while we keep the templar busy, if this works, we're on to something.
What are your thoughts? do you think it is something in the maze?
EDIT: -we just did the raid on hard, killed 3 gorgons in the maze, grimoire card still shows zero kills. maybe it is a bug, maybe not...
EDIT2 - the 3/4 boxes seems to only happened to my lvl 26 raid, maybe i really messed something up there.
I don't and can't say that there is something, i just want to open a brainstorming, where everybody adds his thoughts and ideas.
So don't get upset, i'm not saying you did anything wrong.

Before the Gatekeeper there is that portal off by itself in the distance that i was able to get to as a titan by going around the mountain and when i got there it looked the same as the ones in the boss fight. Im curious if you open the door to the gatekeeper then one person runs back to the portal outside while everyone else kills the gatekeeper and then open both teleporters at the same time if maybe it would active O_o or maybe finish the gatekeeper part completely IDK just thought it would be cool to try. Edit: ok cool seems to be alot of people Interested so if your on XB1 I have the checkpoint and im going to attempt this at 6pm central time Gt: im frozen son

The gorgon grimoire mentions "until a counter measure is found" According to the Perseus myth, he was given gifts from two Gods to assist his fight with Medusa. One gift was a shield to reflect the gaze of Medusa back to her.

3 通の返信There is a chest that sometimes spawns in the secret path I've only got it 2 times out of maybe 6 I think that is it

1 返信The patch today resets the relic into the middle if you leave the "playable area" as bungie calls it. See how far you can go

When you do that, many more appear, they are faster/more aggressive, and close the chest doors in the maze. You also cant kill another because they are buffed. Getting the relic into the maze might produce some very interesting results. Can you take the spirit bloom shortcut before the templar is dead?

6 通の返信you get a chest for killing the templar without him tellaporting. the chest is hidden on a seccond path to the gorgon maze.

7 通の返信Oracles, Templar, gatekeepers, Atheon. Those are the 4 bosses which give loot. There's never been a problem with only completing 3/4 bosses. You probably didn't finish the raid or joined after the Templar oracles. The app shows completion of all 4 if you do it start to finish

18 通の返信...the thing you're missing is the fourth chest. You get it in a crack in the wall in the area with the boss hydra. There are four chests in total.

As you mentioned, In Greek mythology, there were three sisters (Gorgons) who had hair made of snakes, that turned anyone who looked at them into stone. Two of the sisters (can't recall there names) were immortal, while the third sister (Medusa) was not. I think the fact that you can kill one gorgon, and then the rest become immune is just a reference to the part of Greek literature. In conclusion I think it was just bungie being clever and keeping to the myth. I wish there was something more to be discovered but I really doubt there is. :(

3 通の返信I am wondering if it shows up if you kill all the gorgons... The 5th cheat only appears if you beat the Templar a certain way and it is on an inactive portal. Not all portals are linked to plates. Maybe this one is linked to killing the gorgons. (My theory is there are 7 chests... Bungie loves 7. So 2 left to find)

3 通の返信The relic disappears as soon as you defeat the Templar boss, + the door and the hidden pathway won't open until he's defeated.

9 通の返信Now this is kinda offtopic but "Medusa" and "they had to walk backwards to kill it" brought a thought to my mind. Do the Gorgons actually kill you if they see you or if you see them? [b]What happens if you traverse the labyrinth walking backwards, not looking at the Gorgons but still being in their line of sight?[/b]

Hey whats up! Recruiting for my new clan, mainly on the xbox 360 but all others are welcome. 6 通の返信There are 2 chests I know of in the Gorgon Maze. It was said below but you need to loot a chest found to the right of the big rock (through a different part of the maze). The 2nd is to the left of the same big rock. Walk around the wall to a small opening and look up and left. There's an entrance to a cave in the wall you have to jump to. Follow the cave around to the 2nd chest. If anyone on ps4 wants to go exploring in VoG just send me a friend invite and a message. Trying to get a group for this upcoming reset who wants to explore and can finish the raid. Preferably this Thursday around 7 pm CST.
