Lots of people want this feature even if it's not the ideal way to play the raid. We paid for the game, so it's our choice. Regardless, if people think it's a bad a idea, they don't have to use it -- no one is forcing you. The bottom line is that the addition of raid matchmaking would have NO effect whatsoever on people opposed to it.
I am lost as to why so many people are opposed to the idea. How would me, and 5 people like me, using matchmaking for the raid effect you? Answer: it wouldn't.
Besides, how many people are going to buy DLC with a raid if they want matchmaking it doesn't have? Remember who's really in charge of this game... Activision...
EDIT:
I dig how so many people are telling me that matchmaking would nerf, dumb down, or ruin the raid. Yeah, because all the other threads full of people begging for final checkpoints on hard or asking warlocks to cheat for them are keeping the raid legit. Yup, matchmaking sure would ruin the raid...

7 通の返信I wish the people against matchmaking were intelligent enough to understand that matchmaking is OPTIONAL. You have the OPTION of using it or not using it. It makes all of your arguments against adding it moot.

2 通の返信"you paid for a game so its your choice" please tell me how your $60 contribution entitles you to game changing decisions it can also be your choice to find friends or group to progress through the raid together at predetermined times there are far more factors involved with matchmaking and there is enough Q.Q about people afk or leaving the strike playlists

Brutal Irkenにより編集済み: 10/13/2014 9:21:27 PMI can't figure out why people are so opposed to this. It's probably the same people who think Xur should be banished from the Tower. If they just had a separate playlist for mm it would not affect those with enough friends on at the same time to create a full team.

1 返信Matchmaking is only a bad idea the first week the raid comes out. By now everyone should know what to do. I have never done the raid and i know what you're supposed to do. i feel like if matchmaking isn't added in the next two weeks i'll have nothing left to do in this game and sell it because loging in to do the same bounty for the 70th time isn't exactly what i'd call enjoyable

11 通の返信SerenityNOWWWにより編集済み: 10/13/2014 8:33:52 PMNo. It definitely would affect us. Have you used matchmaking before? You can't do a strike by yourself, or just with 1 friend. If someone from my team gets booted? Guess what, good chance his spot will get filled by someone else. If you want this idea to go over well, you need to propose it as something other than matchmaking. A new opt-in matchmaking system or something. I personally would never use any such option. Why? Because the chance of getting a team with even an ice cube's chance in hell of completing the raid is infinitesimally small. So small in fact, that my calculator would have to convert the number to scientific notation. Even if you do finally get a good team together, you know someone just wanted to play for an hour and will end up leaving you when you need them most. Then it is once again time to pray to the matchmaking gods that you don't get another worthless raider.
-
Let me start by stating that I'm not for or against the raid matchmaking idea. That said, if you haven't beaten the raid yet and used nothing but destinylfg.com or just spammed people in the tower until you got a full group to actually get into the normal raid, odds are you probably wiped somewhere in there and didn't complete it. Not being able to complete the 'easy' raid is going to discourage players even more then this game already has. Also what do you think matchmaking for Hard would be like? That s**t ain't easy. This isn't WoW where LFR was made so easy you could auto attack the bosses and get loot. You actually have to have some coordination. All in all for a developer/publisher perspective matching for raids would be a mistake. Yea we the players paid for the game but that doesn't mean I'm going to drive down to the closest Bungie studio and say, ' Hey add matchmaking coz I own the game.' Doesn't work that way. Use the clan system Bungie has and find a clan to go with.

4 通の返信Blizzard already demonstrated how matchmaking raids work out with their Looking For Raid system. Wipe, after wipe, after wipe. Plus it takes away from the whole point of a raid experience in my opinion. You just end up with randoms who are in it for a loot grind and the moments you would have with your crew, funny stories or epic moments wont ever exist.
-
It's not your decision, it's Bungie's. You only portray part of the community's view on this. Don't act like your opinion is fact, 'cause it' s not buddy. So how would it affect those who actually take a little time to play with friends? We would be screwed if someone DCed and got replaced by a random without a mic. Part of the raid is the preparation beforehand with your group. I don't want raiding to get nerfed for the "Elitist Scumbags", as you call us, just because a "Filthy Casual", as we Elitist Scumbags call someone like you, like yourself can't beat it with randoms even though you cried about it after they ALREADY SAID THEY'RE LOOKING AT THE POSSIBILITY OF MATCHMAKING.

1 返信I have read a few comments where people are stating the arguments against matchmaking are unfounded. Can you guys read and comprehend simple concepts. Absolutely no good would come from raid matchmaking. I know you all want a group but have you even tried. I am level 29 and usually get 2 or 3 raid invites by just loading the tower. I have two separate raid groups. There is also a lfg tool and multiple forum threads. The question is why restate the obvious. For all you pro matchmaking kiddies try to actually read the responses to your threads and use critical thinking.

3 通の返信girflushにより編集済み: 10/13/2014 8:31:05 PMI don't know the solution but a lot of the problems people are saying will happen with MMing I am already experiencing with groups from DestinyLFG and groups from here. I've played the raid 3 times and haven't finished yet because people are quitting out, either at the start because they get sick of waiting for an hour just trying to round up a team, or at the very end just out of fatigue or whatever. Or just little quirky things like yesterday we had a team of 5 and one guy has a friend but he wants the 5 of us to join his friends fireteam instead of him simply joining our fireteam that are already in progress outside the entrance. Or people want to fumble with the ps4 party chat instead of just using the ingame fireteam chat. It's just a big juggling circus act just to play it. You have to juggle your PC or your phone, incoming and outging friend requests, messages, invites, and in game stuff as well. It's not a big deal or a Herculean effort or anything to do so, but all those little things all add up to be quite cumbersome just to play a video game. I mean the Raid is cool and challenging sort of I guess but it's more of a challenge just getting a team setup who is going to complete it. And that's not even mentioning playing with cool people who are having fun and not getting all worked up over a game. And 6 people talking at once is a mess audibly.. I don't know it's just all a mess really. And it's too bad because the Raid really could be a cool gaming experience but it's just a hassle to play it at all.

2 通の返信Most anti matchmaking arguments are all based on logical fallacies. Just saying ad hominem, slippery slope, begging the claim, etc. Food for thought.

"I am lost as to why so many people are opposed to the idea. How would me, and 5 people like me, using matchmaking for the raid effect you? Answer: it wouldn't." You can't really say this as fact. Some people know that this would have an impact on the general population of the game and in turn, them. Depending on the idea of the game, which has been stated by the developers, there should be certain trends and traditions held within those ideas. This subject in particular is one of those traditions I believe. In my opinion, people like you are the reason we will never see a game like this reach its full potential from what it set out to be. Then again, companies are going to do what makes them the most money so you may still get some or all of the things that you yourself wants unfortunately.

10 通の返信Considering how bad kids are in strikes and simple things like the crucible, I dont want you scrubs to bring your autism in my raids. You want to raid, then make friends or join a clan. Stop wanting everything handed to you, entitled whiney bitch.
-
I am opposed to it and this is why.... I want a chat bubble feature like Phantasy star I think that would fix everything cause then I could just spam what i'm looking for till I get it. Also increase the amount of people allowed at one tower. I think that would be dope!
-
Raids are hard... Randomly sticking 6 people in a raid with no plan, group synergy, or even knowledge of others competence is a disaster that happens every minute in games that currently offer raid matchmaking. Adding matchmaking to raids only leads to randoms crying about difficulty. Which then leads to nerfed versions of the raids specifically made for random matchmaking queues. Then those matchmaking raids almost become a requirement for the gearing up process. Just like every other game that has matchmaking for raids. There are too many trolls and lazy people for actual raid content to be doable with random matchmaking. How about you just get some friends, try not to be an asshole so much, join a clan and plan accordingly like the rest of us.
-
Most new players already take like 2+ hours to finish raid. And most of the time they drop out because they underestimated the time it would take to finish. Matchmaking is alright for strikes since most rounds go for about 10-15 minutes. I am starting to get burned out when working with teams who hardly use their mics. Especially the quiet guys out there who can't follow simple orders
-
Me personally am not opposed to the idea per say... But I don't believe it would be an efficient way to play the game. I don't have a whole lot of confidence in the general populace to actually do it and I have a raid group already set. I would not be against it if it was implemented but I can't pretend that it would be very successful.

1 返信"We paid for the game, so it's our choice." No it's not. You paid for the game, you're entitled to your opinions but you by no means have any choice-making power. Sit in your corner.

Matchmaking is not ideal for the raid, although u can complete it with randoms I did on hard... its annoying.. and lots of people leave for whatever reasons. who wants to start a raid with randoms matchmaking/no mic and low skill and if u don't like ur team just leave and try again. Thats just saying a person can leave a raid and not try to be dedicated to finishing it. Just leave when ever cuz the fire team is trash. Then your down one what u going to have matchmaking throw another random in with u.. that's doesn't get the rewards from the parts you have finished.. its stupid idea.. get more friends and stop whining...

1 返信Here is my problem with matchmaking, we already deal with people going afk in strikes and even crucible matches. Matchmaking would be okay if there was an approval system in which gear and skill can be judged. I'm not an elitist, I just think maybe people could join a clan or even try the lfg website that I haven't had a chance to try (because I'm in a clan). Raiding isn't supposed to be easy, and neither is finding a raid team.
