Lots of people want this feature even if it's not the ideal way to play the raid. We paid for the game, so it's our choice. Regardless, if people think it's a bad a idea, they don't have to use it -- no one is forcing you. The bottom line is that the addition of raid matchmaking would have NO effect whatsoever on people opposed to it.
I am lost as to why so many people are opposed to the idea. How would me, and 5 people like me, using matchmaking for the raid effect you? Answer: it wouldn't.
Besides, how many people are going to buy DLC with a raid if they want matchmaking it doesn't have? Remember who's really in charge of this game... Activision...
EDIT:
I dig how so many people are telling me that matchmaking would nerf, dumb down, or ruin the raid. Yeah, because all the other threads full of people begging for final checkpoints on hard or asking warlocks to cheat for them are keeping the raid legit. Yup, matchmaking sure would ruin the raid...
-
i have carried random people but people always find ways to ruin some part on a raid so match making is a horrible idea . people you know will have more patience then randoms and you can organize better then with randoms you can't solo the raid like on any other mission every one has too do there part .
-
The addition of matchmaking yields a new network/server element which can affect overall connectivity. I am against matchmaking not only for this reason, but also because communication is key to completing the raid. It's difficult enough organizing a team of 6, each of whom understand their roles and execution. Try this with 5 random players and odds are that your team will not finish.
-
1 返信Many problems with this. For starters, if you don't communicate you're going to lose, guaranteed. Second, it would require extensive additional work for them to implement a way to say NOT to matchmake (the last thing needed if someone loses connection is an unkickable PUG blocking your mate's slot). They absolutely do not need matchmaking, all that IS needed is public comms: allow voice or even text to everyone in your current tower instance and the lack of matchmaking is no longer an issue. If you think you're going to even beat the templar with matchmade PUGs and no comms then you've obviously never run the raid, let alone dropped Atheon.

I run in clan groups when doing VoG. So MM to me is not a real issue. Likewise I see no problem with MM in raids. I can't see how it would affect the lives of the so called 1%. After all we are a community and should help each other.
-
1 返信Matchmaking would have NO effect on people? Joking right? 3 man raid wouldn't exist if MM existed solo Atheon wouldn't exist if MM existed Check points saving wouldn't exist Glad to see how you only care about yourself and like minded-noobs. But I'll go back to the high mountains and play with the 1%. LMOOOOOOOOOLA

Hellhoundにより編集済み: 10/15/2014 3:59:34 PMI hate to say it matchmaking wouldn't help much. Alot of people don't like to be social on destiny, and the key thing behind the raid is communication. heck dont get me wrong it would be nice to be able to pick up that last guy you need or to get a replacement on the spot, but that leaves to many variables to fail or to take a year to complete it.

4 通の返信Nodnarbにより編集済み: 10/15/2014 3:45:43 PMi honestly couldnt care less if they add it at this point. i also dont understand why it is still such a big deal. dont be lazy, use the forums or join a clan.

4 通の返信No.... we dont want to see the raid nerfed and thats what would happen. They would sit and compare the number of LFR PUGs and the numbet that finish and do exactly what Blizzard did with wow... they nerfed the LFR version so PUGs could clear. Im not trying to be an ass here, it would be nice to have more groups but simply adding chat in some form would solve the problem without nerfing content.

2 通の返信Raid matchmaking is a bad idea. Join a clan if you are having trouble getting into raids.

1 返信Maybe they're not elitists but realists MM in VoG at its release would have been miserable, especially since there's no VC in MM areas atm I don't care either way, like you said it won't affect me, I have a static group. But in my experience pug groups suck a majority of the time

3 通の返信Without the ability to kick, people will sit at spawn spinning. Do you see the problem here.?

I agree with you OP. I think it's hilarious that level 24 Tiger Strikes have matchmaking, but the level 22 weekly heroic doesn't. I mean seriously? And okay, the Nightfall is level 28... But it's the same strikes that we run on everything else and know backwards and forward. I love reading the but Bungie would have to dumb it down comments too since half the people beating it are using the Warlock cheat. Guess what? You're dumbing it down! I think the worst part of not including it (or in game communication to this point) is that, it shows that Bungie assumes most people playing are inherently bad people and gamers. Not a good stance towards their community.

SalvatoreTripにより編集済み: 10/15/2014 2:43:34 PMGood luck with matchmaking . You need communication in a raid. Which most people in matchmaking won't be using a mic. And there will be matchmaking because bungie is all about appeasing to the people , as see in the last hot fix. Which they will probably end up nerfing the raid so people in matchmaking can actually beat it

6 通の返信Except the enormous amount of resources required to design, implement and maintain a horrible, horrible idea; which will inhibit improvement in areas of the game that the entire community would benefit from. Not to mention the changes that would inevitably be inflicted on the VoG to make it doable in matchmade pugs.

I am not against it, adding that option won't affect me. I still prefer to play the raid with my PSN friends as it requires a lot of coordination during the match. Playing with randoms in a Raid will for sure lead to failures and frustrations as each person will do what they think it is best. Able to speak in matchmaking is also not available right now, so I think Bungie need to figure out a way to implement this.

4 通の返信doomshamanにより編集済み: 10/15/2014 2:45:48 PMI have to completely agree, there are no valid arguments against it. The people against it are practicing manual matchmaking as opposed to an in game matchmaking interface. Ever since the beginning of times some people are just rejecting the new. The reasoning behind it is pretty simple, for a work to be truly creative, it has to depart from the status quo at some point. That departure makes many people uncomfortable. Despite our oft-stated desire for more creativity, we also hold a stronger desire for certainty and structure. When that certainty is challenged, a bias against creativity develops. Anyhow, one of the main things about in game matchmaking is that it will save a lot of time, there are no guarantees playing with randoms anyhow so matchmaking would be an option to quickly find a group and start the raid right away. It's better than looking on sites or meeting in a tower. It's hard to even match your schedule with 5 friends. The thing is if you dislike matchmaking please continue to do so and make your own party, the matchmaking will not affect you so let the others have that option. Also, there are a lot of good ideas posted about matchmaking so Bungie will have to do the it right, one of the examples is to be able to join parties at your last save point. For example if it's a good party you can finish pretty quick but if it's not you can always come back through matchmaking to your last save point and complete another stage and so on.

EXACTLY!! Why not have it? If you don't have 6 people that can do it with you, then you're supposed to go out and send random invites to people in game or on the forum, right? What's the difference if matchmaking does the leg work for you? If you have 6 people that can do it, then congrats! Join in and the matchmaking will negate since you've already got a party. If you've got 5 people, great! Matchmaking will supply you with one and you get to raid anyway. The only negative that may happen is the afk'ers or trolls that will see this as an attempt to get free gear or be a dick. Same thing should apply to the weekly and nightfall strikes as well.

2 通の返信If raid matchmaking is not added then this game is done for me. Already hardly log on anymore. What is there to do? I could do the same missions or strikes for the hundred time or I can play the decently fun but repetitive crucible. Only thing left for me to do is raid and I can't do that because I don't have 5 other friends that play. Destiny will be a game I keep to jump in a play new content every few months for a few hours but that's it. Game is hollow and has archaic systems like no matchmaking
