I play a gunslinger PvE and use hand cannons as part of my character makeup. I was super happy to get an exotic bounty for a hand cannon, until I ran into the depleted hand cannon bounty.
This is the most unfun, unfair bounty to a non-PvPer in the entire set. I don't PvP. I am terrible at it. Yet not only am I forced to have a positive K/D ratio, I have to do it with void damage. Well, 4 hours, 22 matches later, I have 7 points. Thanks, Bungie. It's enough to make me stop playing until you fix this ridiculous requirement.
I don't want to hear from players "learn to play" "stop sucking" etc. I am not good at PvP. I raid in MMOs, I PvE, that is what I enjoy and am good at. It's not fair that a style of weapon has this PvP step, and void damage to boot.
I can't use my specials, I can't use my grenades, I can't even hit with my hand cannon or an auto rifle because by the time I switch, I'm dead.
I have a shot gun, which only works in some cases (I went shotgun to shotgun and lost), I have a rocket launcher, and a sniper rifle that does void.
I got up to 34 then died 17 times in a row. Back to zero. So what am I doing now? Hiding in a corner under heavy ammo comes out, blowing up 2-4 guardians, and hiding again.
I'm completely hurting my teammates.
This is not fun, it is not fair to non-pvpers, and it should be changed.

Use Raid weapons after you get them. I did this with Atheon's epilogue (Auto with void) and Praedyth's revenge (Sniper with void) and the Dead orbit Machine gun. It wasn't easy because for PvP I like a shotgun as a back up but I adapted. play Control, and defend the zones (helping the team) but don't take any zones, this keeps you from getting Hunter sliced, bombed to hell, rocketed, titan smashed, etc right on the point. Instead shoot them in back as they go to do it. This way you can be a team player and get some kills while limiting your deaths.

Step 1: switch to blade dancer Step 2: put on perks that cater to being invisible Step 3: equip void damage shotgun Step 4: play rumble Step 5: crouch/corner camp being invisible until someone walks by then blast them with shotgun step6: run around to the next corner/lather rinse repeat Not the most honorable method but it will get you there

Most exotic bounties have a Crucible segment. I highly recommend using Atheon's epilogue (void damage auto rifle), a void fusion rifle or shotgun, and a void heavy machine gun. Just remember slow and steady wins the race!

Even though I play a hunter I have avoided the Thorn bounty for this reason. I just don't feel like doing it. That being said, you are not being forced to do anything by anyone other than yourself. If you don't like the bounty, don't do it. From what I understand, you won't be really missing much. Yeah, you won't have that exotic hand-cannon to fully flesh out your hunter as a character, but that isn't the end of the world. The requirement isn't broken, just hard as heck. I shudder to think how long it would take me. I have the Bad Juju bounty where I have to simply score 10k points in the crucible. I think I've done 10-15 matches since I got that stage, and am only 1/2-way. These exotics....they make us sweat..... I feel your pain. In all honesty, I say just ditch the bounty.

Invective is the one that wants you to have a positve K/d ratio but even then all they want you to do is have a spread across matches that is 25. Use some of the same tactics mentioned here. I'm horrible at PVP myself and even as a voidwalker warlock with Atheon's Epilogue,Predyth's Revenge and Truth ontop of voidbomb and grenades I didn't want to grind out that much into a hand cannon I'm not going to use. Sure it looks cool but I get more enjoyment out of Last Word. PvP with a full 6 man fireteam of friends/clanmates does(for me at least) make PvP ALOT more enjoyable though

while I am not good at PvP, this is not hard at all to do. Get a void fusion rifle and get to work. Easy to finish in 1 hour. I used Light/Beware with void personally and finished it 3 times now. Only use the fusion rifle, it is very VERY easy! Funny thing is when I did this and only used the fusion for this bounty, I actually did better in every stat then I typically did. Seriously stop whining over the most silly crap. All I can say is instead of asking to remove it, how about you remove the bounty and do something else? It is not required for you to do this nor expected to do so. All exotic bounties require some level of pvp minus the super good advice.

1 返信Here is advice from an average PVP- -Get a void shotgun and a void rocketlauncher- Atheon's Epilogue really helps if you have it -only play control -camp at one of the control points and make sure you grab rocket ammo every time it drops -camp like a little bitch and shotgun people as much as you can -worth repeating, but Atheon's Epilogue is really helpful for this- pray to RNGeezus and do the raid every week It is frustrating, but I managed to complete it in a few hours of just really sticking to this strategy and using Atheon's Epilogue, Void Shotgun and Truth

9 通の返信Let me guess. You turned in 4 PvE bounties and the robot handed you a hybrid PvE / PvP bounty. The PvP part of the bounty sucks the big flaccid D. Get 2 friends to join you in Rumble and have them "rush you" for easy kills. With a shotty or fusion. You'll be done in 3.5 matches. Or get 5 friends for Clash and camp with a void sniper.

Okay I have finished the Thorn bounty and to be honest it was not that hard. You get more points from killing people then if you die. You do not need a positive KDR to complete it at all. Use a void damage fusion rifle or a void damage shotgun and a void damage rocket launcher and you will be able to complete it fairly quickly. Also try playing control because in that game mode you will always have groups of 2-3 people at the control points to kill with void weapons. I did not use the method I am about to tell you but I have seen many people do it. One method to complete the pvp aspect of the Thorn bounty is to get a few kills then after your first death leave the game and stat a new one. All of the exotic bounties have a pvp aspect to them except the HMG. For Bad Juju(pulse rifle) you have to get 10,000 points in pvp and for the Invective( shotgun ) you need to have a KDR of 25 to complete that part. http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2ift04/all_exotic_bounties_guide/ Above is a list of 5 out of 6 exotic bounties and how to complete them.

i did this bounty with my hunter using my raid sniper for the void damage and a machine gun. I didn't think it was too hard as I rarely play pvp. I was intimidated when I saw this requirement as part of the bounty. The 1 thing you can't do is go around running trying to kill people at least not when you're using a sniper. I would pick a spot and camp the crap out of it and would stay on out skirts of map to pick people of. Once I got some heavy ammo for my machine gun then I'd run into all the crazyness. You just got to play smart not run and gun since deaths affect your ultimate goal.

I don't play much PVP and I did it. If you're not good at PVP this isn't the bounty for you. Discard it and do something else instead of whining that it's too hard, many other people here, myself included have already proved you wrong.
-
I used a void sniper and played control and picked off players as they tryed to cap our base. I'm pretty sure if you get points and then leave the game, if you go negative(more deaths than kills) you won't lose those points from dying because it saves them.

The only aspect of this bounty that makes it impossible for me is the losing points from deaths. I just can't keep it going I get around 5-50 points on the bounty one match then I'm down to 0 the next match.

So what about the people that are purely PVP players? They can get the same bounty, and its arguably better for pvp than it is for pve anyway (at least right now anyway, we'll see if/when they actually upgrade it). Why should they have to go do icky pve things for the bounty, I mean they are pvp players Bungie, geez! I wouldn't be surprised if they maybe lowered the amount of points needed by a bit, but they should NOT remove the pvp aspect of it. Invectives bounty can be done in one or 2 games, even going 1:1 and getting 5 assists per game you'd get it done in as little as 5 games. Bad juju takes about 5 games (getting 2,000 points per game) maybe 10 if you aren't getting a lot of points/game and no negatives for deaths so anybody at all can do it. Thorn even a good player its at least about 5 games, much more likely to be a lot more than that though. Think the 2nd time around for me doing it, it took about 10 games for me (I didn't have the best void weapons for pvp just some random shotgun and a good rocket launcher). I think a decent fix would be to either reduce the points needed, like say 400? Maybe even a bit less? Whatever makes it more comparable to the other 2 for the average player. Or to remove the death penalty, but increase the points needed to anywhere between 600-1000. Since anybody at all can complete, it should take a bit longer A few tips for actually getting it done, play control. People (well some anyway) are more focused on capturing the points than just killing you. You will always have an idea where they are going (one of the 3 points) and the points make GREAT spots for camping with a shotgun or jumping around the corner with a rocket. I wouldn't suggest a sniper unless you are pretty good at it, most maps just don't justify using one. If shotguns just aren't your style at all, give a fusion rifle a go. I don't care for em, but I see a lot of pvpers pretty much strictly using fusion rifles. Its a 1 shot kill like the shotgun, but from a much longer range. Also, if you hiding and getting 2-4 rocket kills and then hiding some more allows you to go positive, you ARE helping your team. Much more so than going 4 and 20 (random numbers, not saying you in particular went 4 and 20) Every game type is all about getting more kills and less deaths than the other team, even control. You dont get points, well you get a few for the actual cap, for holding the 3 points, you just get more points for kills the more points you hold. You could win control even with the other team holding all 3 points the entire game.

How is it "Unfair"? They're exotic guns, you have to work for them, not just have them be handed to you cause you don't want to do the work. I suck at PVP but I managed to get it done. It shouldn't be changed. If people are too lazy to do the requirements they should just delete the bounty and go for another one.

krazykidにより編集済み: 11/4/2014 6:47:17 PMDid it on my bladedancer hunter. Just run around with void fusion rifle equipped for 1 hits at range, use a rocket launcher if you have to (though I'd recommend void zombie apocalypse with it's 75 mag high stability and damage, if you got it then use it because as a gunslinger with a hand cannon you should be all about precision. I was able to get to 10 and 15 kill streaks often and I've hardly done PvP, all down to how great that gun is). Just noob it out basically if you're struggling a bit with it, hide behind your team, don't go rushing into anything. A control map might be better because you know where most people are going to be, can charge (fusion) around a corner or shoot a rocket launcher blindly hoping for the best. That way you may not be top with kills but at least you'll also be contributing to the team capturing zones, could even choose to defend one zone that's in a tight space, narrow halls etc so it's easier to get those special weapon kills.

Andrendenにより編集済み: 11/4/2014 6:45:38 PMI agree. It's hurting pvp to have people like you in the games. I support the change of not giving bads Exotic bounties that require pvp action! /signed
That was the change right? You don't want terrible people like yourself holding us back?
Even though I have done this bounty it does seem a little biased against Hunters, with no void sub-class it makes it even tougher, as I used a voidwalker Warlock so grenades and melee both counted, also used a fully leveled Sniper with void damage (with field scout you can use it like a primary) and void damage rocket launcher. Didnt take as long as I expected but the odd game of 50+ points really helped and even went one entire game with out dying :-)
-
iStrangerにより編集済み: 11/4/2014 6:36:18 PMI'm a hunter and the best advice is get a shotgun with void damage like THE COMEDIAN after that it will be up to you on well you do. It took me about two hours to get it done I was fortunate enough to do well

3 通の返信It took me 5 games to get 500 points. I used the raid sniper and snagged a 4.0+ KD ratio every game. And just so you know this handcannon is poop. The Fatebringer that drops off the Templar on hard is way better.
