Please modify or remove/change depleted hand cannon bounty
I play a gunslinger PvE and use hand cannons as part of my character makeup. I was super happy to get an exotic bounty for a hand cannon, until I ran into the depleted hand cannon bounty.
This is the most unfun, unfair bounty to a non-PvPer in the entire set. I don't PvP. I am terrible at it. Yet not only am I forced to have a positive K/D ratio, I have to do it with void damage. Well, 4 hours, 22 matches later, I have 7 points. Thanks, Bungie. It's enough to make me stop playing until you fix this ridiculous requirement.
I don't want to hear from players "learn to play" "stop sucking" etc. I am not good at PvP. I raid in MMOs, I PvE, that is what I enjoy and am good at. It's not fair that a style of weapon has this PvP step, and void damage to boot.
I can't use my specials, I can't use my grenades, I can't even hit with my hand cannon or an auto rifle because by the time I switch, I'm dead.
I have a shot gun, which only works in some cases (I went shotgun to shotgun and lost), I have a rocket launcher, and a sniper rifle that does void.
I got up to 34 then died 17 times in a row. Back to zero. So what am I doing now? Hiding in a corner under heavy ammo comes out, blowing up 2-4 guardians, and hiding again.
I'm completely hurting my teammates.
This is not fun, it is not fair to non-pvpers, and it should be changed.

Find friends if you suck at PVP I understand believe me I use to hate it too (cus it's my first FPS game) but once I got used to it (without the connection issues kicking me out all the time ) it's actually pretty fun. Fallow my advice and you will beat the bounty. 1- change your play style it's not PVE you need high recovery & high speed. 2- always keep moving and learn the jumping mechanism of the game and if you have blink it's even better. 3-chose a primary AR (AR is yours friend in the crucible) for special it depends if you are a mid range kinda guy choose Fusion Rifle if you are a CQC kinda guy choose shotgun Heavy weapon should always be MG and don't forget you need to kill'em with void DMG . 4-chose a tracker or AOE type of grande (void if you are Titan or Warlock) it's a very good fallow up tactic. 5- if you are on the big map of Mars/Moon chose sniper rifle it's your biggest friend there. As long as you keep you death at minimum 1 to 1 you're all set. Hope it helps.

I have done all of the exotic bounties including thorn except for invective, maybe soon? Thorn is the longest, Juju is a close runner up. Don't focus on the K/D ratio, just play. If you hate PVP that much then drop the bounty as it is optional. It sucks, but they are called exotics for a reason.

Don't bother with it. Vanguard and Dead Orbit Hand Cannons are a lot better than Thorn in PvP. Timur's Lash is apparently godly in PvP, impact rating makes it like 2 headshots and they're dead. Plus that with Chain of Woe and Gunslinger's Trance, I've seen someone wreck all hell with it

You say dont tell you to "play better" or "stop sucking" but in all honesty thats the real answer. You have to try to earn it, not get it handed to you. Its easy when you actually try. Im a hunter as well who didnt have void abilities Very easy if you use Atheons epilogue/ void sniper, shotgun/ and void machine- get as many kills with machine as possible.

My biggest advice would be to put time into PVP without going for this bounty. Get yourself acclimated to that version of the game, the different game modes, the maps, what works for you and what doesn't. I don't play PVP all the time, but I'm pretty good most of the time I do. I've completed the bounty for Thorn twice. And because they won't give me the option for Pocket Infinity, I've now got it for a 3rd time on the same character. I got decent at PVP before ever tackling the bounty, and then went in with either a Void shotgun or sniper depending on the map and how the match is going. This doesn't mean use nothing but the special weapon; you still want to be playing well overall and exercising some control over the match, using your Void weapons when applicable to the situation. This way the points will come gradually and more naturally, and hopefully you'll be dying less and not depleting your progress. Tldr; Adjust to play well in PVP. Only use Void weapons when they'll work for the situation. Play well to avoid death and progress loss.

Plus 5 for void kills and minus two for deaths. I personally feel only void deaths should count if it's all about the void, but whatever. Took me about a week and I suck at PvP too. Hang in there. Hope you have a void shotty

1 返信As someone who's also not good at PVP and who just finished the thorn bounty, the best few pieces of advice I can give you are: Get a void fusion rifle. They're high damage and have better range than shotguns. With practice and getting used to the radar you can have it charged by the time someone rounds a corner. Most times they're a one shot if you hit them in the right place. Play PVP that's team based. Not only do you get some points for assists, your teammates have your back and you're going to be stronger in a group than solo. Take your time. Never just run around, even just to catch up with your team. Unless you're in a big map like bastion, then run to find cover. But for the most past just walk and be careful. Be mindful of heavy ammo drops. I didn't rely too heavily on heavy weapons for this but if I could get the ammo I used it. I personally like the machine guns but get a good void heavy that you like using. Take you're time and don't try to do it in a set amount of time. I personally played a few clash matches at the end of the night after I did everything else I wanted to. It took me a little over a week of playing a few matches here and there. I think if you're relaxed about it you may have fun more with it. Have fun with it. It's not a chore unless you believe it is. Hope this helps.

I have the thorn. If you like hand cannons be prepared to be disappointed, especially if you're a pve person. This gun is horrible in pve. It's viable in pvp when it has the mark of devourer, but requires a different play style and you have to get head shots or you'll get your ass handed to you. If you don't like pvp I would just abandon this bounty. Also the hardest part I felt was killing that unwed wizard.

I'm doing it as a Hunter right now as well. 408/500 and can't wait to finish it. The easiest way to do it is to get a void shotty/fusion rifle and a void machine gun then go into Control. Capture and defend a control point near a heavy ammo spawn and just camp. It sucks but it'll get the job done. I personally can't stand corner camping but that is how Hunters will get this done without a void primary. And hey, Thorn is a evil gun that makes you do evil things ;)

Keep in mind. The matching system is not phenomenal. You can't just sit in control all night and expect a good time. You typically play with the same chunk of people. If lose terribly once or twice you need to switch game types to get out of the player rotation. If you're doing great stay. Don't be complacent if your team is getting destroyed. I pulled 15 kills on my team and nearest guy was 6 kills. Just because they suck and you will lose doesn't mean you can be a force to be reckoned with. For losing one crucible mark in the end you can still make great progress on the bounty. Chin up

Yes it takes skill to complete this bounty. Unfortunately one can't complain that it costs 500 guardian light to complete this. The price has been set. You must pay. Besides the personal value of the weapon is destroyed if you didn't feel challenged to obtain it. This is a major reason why people complain about xur. The challenge is displaced and therefore disregard the immediate value of the item. I did 500 in about 3 hours or less. Using defender titan atheons epilogue a blue void damage fusion rifle, corrective action and my brains. I always have top kd because i know my limits. Also if you can't survive the crucible how do you expect to survive the darkness when it comes back. There's valuable training to be had in the crucible that no burn modifier or jumping puzzle can teach you. Think about that. Earth needs you.

From a guy who've done it 3 times now, I can tell you it's one of the hardest bounty (because a bad streak can put you back in time a lot), but you'll love your Thorn. Fastest way to do it was to grab a Void fusion rifle with a quick charge rate (rare (blue) Dammerung are good for that if you're lucky to have one). I have Atheon's Epilogue, and the impact is not enough to garantee a kill, you make more assist while being an easy target, stick with one hit kill void weapon. You dont need a positive K/D either. It's 5 for a kill, 2 for a death. Sure it's crazy long with a .5 K/D ratio, but you'll manage somehow. You can even Rumble it up with friends and kill easy targets with Void if you're that desesperate. Good luck and keep it going!

I stayed away from the thorn bounty until last week, If you just relax, and play a few matches of crucible then u can do it. I haven't done the raid at all so I don't have access to atheons epilogue, and the only void special weapons I have are the dead orbit sniper and a machin gun. It took a few matches for me to get used to sniping all the time to Mac out my possible amount of points but once u get used to it it's get easier. Just stay away from first light, bastion, and fire base Delphi. Also play on control, it's easier to predict the enemies strategy in that mode.

I'm not good at PVP, but it can be done. Make a Warlock (voidwalker), and pickup a void shotgun or void fusion rifle. Maintain a 1-1 kill death as best you can by corner camping until you've finished your bounty. I hate to be "That Guy" in PVP, but many folks are in the game for the PVE side, and are forced by Bungie to go into PVP and play a specific way regardless of objective, or impact to others in the match. It sucks, but the way Bungie keeps injecting elements of PVP into PVE, this will likely continue.

2 通の返信It's a pain in the ass, but that's how it's supposed to be. I'm on my Pocket Infinity bounty right now, which requires dismantling ten rare or higher quality fusion rifles. I'm completely at the mercy of RNG. I also have the Toland's legacy bounty, which means running 25 strikes. Even at 15min a shot, that's 6.5 hours of strikes. To be fair, that one guarantees me completion of that leg of the bounty, but still, it is a major time commitment, especially since my game time is limited to begin with. The exotic weapon bounties are kind of meant to be a pain in the ass. It'll just have to be a grind.

I'm not a huge fan of PvP either, at least not on destiny ( I'm a call of duty fanatic) , but I believe the point of the exotic bounties is to get people to play more of the game.... There could be many ppl saying that the earlier part of the bounty , getting x amount of pve kills, is stupid as they hate pve.... I get its a stretch, and for some reason the hand cannon bounty seems to be on another level of difficulty then the rest, bungie wants people to play the entire game.

Use Raid weapons after you get them. I did this with Atheon's epilogue (Auto with void) and Praedyth's revenge (Sniper with void) and the Dead orbit Machine gun. It wasn't easy because for PvP I like a shotgun as a back up but I adapted. play Control, and defend the zones (helping the team) but don't take any zones, this keeps you from getting Hunter sliced, bombed to hell, rocketed, titan smashed, etc right on the point. Instead shoot them in back as they go to do it. This way you can be a team player and get some kills while limiting your deaths.
