• Completely relevant because 1- that guy didn't choose to get put in that game and 2- that's how rng and any sort of random chance works.

  • A new person to the game can't get that exotic. Trading would allow it. You could give things to anyone and they wouldn't even have to access the game to progress. Unlike now, where at the very least you have to log in and be active. Trading is good on paper but poses a lot of issues with imbalance and rewarding people who've not even accessed the game, whereas the current system requires that. You can complain all you want about afk players but that's why there's a report system and they have to actually do something in the game to not get auto booted. I have not noticed any players being inactive for inordinate periods of time outside of strikes. And I've played a lot of games. Your point would suggest that tons of people are being rewarded for afking when I have yet to see that as a serious issue for concern especially in pvp where inactives seem to be least populating.

Dude... My only point was that it is possible to get an exotic, by joining right before the game ends. Or going afk the whole game. Idk which the guy did, but the fact that either one is possible is my point.
and it doesn't matter how many times it happens. As long as it happens.
Why? Because Bungie and fanboys made it seem like earning your gear was this great thing. Like you could tell an amazing story about how you got it, or how "skilled/good" you had to be to get it. When in reality, going afk is a feasible option. Like I said, the main argument against trading was for ppl to earn their own gear. To not have things handed to them. You can't say no trading, because you should earn your gear. Then have ppl join a match, do nothing and get the best tier of gear. That is equivalent to trading gear to someone. They both did nothing to earn anything. That's my point. Again how many times it happens is irrelevant. And I wasn't complaining. I actually find it funny that it turned out this way. I mean his story of how he got his exotic is amazing, right? "As for swapping irons in the Tower? Nope. We want you to earn ‘em,” says Bungie. “You should be able to tell a badass story for every sweet jewel in your arsenal." I would love to hear the story this guy has to tell... Edit : what you said about trading, seems like you are grasping at straws... I'm not going to bother talking about that. Nice chat though
