It's quite interesting to see all the different responses people make in regards to the initial question. Some people simply reply with a yes, which leads me to believe they are more than likely insecure with their own intelligence, a bit of a social pariah, or they actually are correct in their statement. However, the latter is the least likely of the three. Some people say no. This leads me to believe they probably don't care enough about the question to put much thought into, and more than likely want to come off as a "troll", or even going against the usual assumption/trend of people saying "yes". This can then be extended to greater aspects of life, in which these people likely go out of their way to go against the social norms. Or they could actually just be dumb. Then there are the people that reply with an educated answer (such as this very one!). More than likely they are trying to give off the illusion of intelligence, when in actuality, they are jaded by their own emotion demons, and thus feel obliged to convince others of their intelligence through a means that is more convincing than a simple "yes". The more unlikely reason is that they are indeed an intelligent person, and choose to express their answer in a way that not only proves their point, but stabilizes their mental state of well being. It can be argued than many, many people who are intelligent are also the people who have the most troubles in life, because they are more intellectually aware of the world around them. That being said, their peace of mind is the only thing they truly know they have (or don't have), and anything to ease that nagging sense of doubt is well worth it. Lastly, there are the people who won't even bother replying. These people are very likely the actual "smart" people. They are confident with who they are, and intelligent enough to recognize that this thread is very possibly an attention seeking post. While that is probably already obvious to the majority of people, the ones who choose not to even reply to the thread are the ones who accept that fact on a deeper level of understanding. To answer your initial question, I believe intelligence is relative. We are all intelligent in different ways.
