This is why I use the Thorn over my Suros, so everyone I kill with it in PVP knows I worked for that thing. Now I just can't wait for the buff.

Nice! It was no question the hardest part of that bounty. I don't want to discourage you or anything, but I recently got Thorn and it is far from the ass kicking, name taking sob I thought it was. Then again I haven't upgraded it all the way yet, we'll see.

I also hated the pvp part of this bounty but finally completed it yesterday and am now also up to the Xyor part. I'm a level 27 Warlock Sunsinger, I tried the Xyor strike last night by myself, I got up to the Phogoth section but found it extremely difficult and haven't been able to succeed yet. Anyone got some hints to kill xyor a little easier? Tried it with another 27 and a 26 and we didn't had a chance to kill pogoth because the knights and mages where too much

You can solo the final boss encounter. Bring a arc sniper (grind queens wrath until you get the Supremacy Sniper Rifle). One shot to knights removes shield, switch to hand cannon and headshot 1-3 bullets depending if major or not. No need for a auto rifle for Thralls. The cursed Thralls that explode spawn quite frequently. Just precision shot them and he rest of the Thralls blow up. Bring a machine gun with Solar damage for wizards. Some people choose to bring a solar sniper and a arc machine gun, but your going to encounter way less wizards than knights. Meaning the limited heavy ammo balances out. Wizards are first priority. Destroy them the second you see them. Second priority is Aciotes or however you spell them. Third priority is knights. Thralls are a entirely scenario basis for priority. Basically you want to remove as many threats as possible in a short amount of time, to reduce your chance of failure. Never. Stop. Running. Practice outside of the strike with sniping while on the go. Your gonna have to shoot a lot of knights mid flight. When in doubt, hide in the entrance of the boss encounter To the left when you first come into Phogoth in the very back corner. There is a pile of rocks that you can hide behind. Nothing can damage you except wizards. This spot is excellent but leave the second wizards spawn. They can kill you literally in a second or less if they swarm you. You know Xyor is coming based on the number of hive drop ships. The boss gets off the 3rd drop ship. Drop ships only spawn if you clear out the enemies Damaging Phogoth is not required to spawn Xyor With that, it is advised to leave Phogoth untouched. You can go potentially up to 10 minutes with Phogoth chained up. Sometimes he breaks the chains even if you don't damage him.

This post brings up something that I have been thinking about for a bit now Special and heavy weapons can have the elemental mods but primaries only have kinetic damage and before anyone thinks or posts it yes I know that some of the primaries can have explosive or incendiary but those don't help with shields and I think that the explosive rounds make precision shots weaker but that that last part could just be me. Sorry if this has be done somewhere else but the comments on thorns bounty was a nice Segway
