Why is it that in the beginning of the game we have environmental hazards like trip mines and enemies crawling on the walls but nothing like that is ever seen again?
I pointed this out before. The game could definitely done with more environmental interaction. We have no way to verify whether 404's information is correct at this point, it's all just speculation, but given the embarrassingly low lack of content, I would say, yeah, it probably is true, either that, or someone at Bungie misplaced half the production money. I think it's obvious to anyone that the game does not feel like a game that's had millions thrown at it, visually and control-wise it does, but as for the content, there's nothing there. Deep down, those of us who are honest with ourselves know what has happened; content has been stripped out the game and will be drip-fed to players. Of course Bungie or Activision will never admit this, but to me, that's the only reasonable explanation for the lack of content, undersold story, and disparity between information players were fed long before the release and the finished product (i.e. Queen's brother being one example). I don't think we can blame Bungie here, I'm sure Activision heavily influenced the direction the game took (perhaps explaining why a number of developers were fired and quit during the game's development), but at the same time, I don't think I could blame Activision either. They are only doing what any corporation does: trying to maximise profits. Sure Destiny could have done with more content, but there's a reason why so many people are still playing it despite deriding it here: it's a solid game, and with more content, like Halo, it could have even been epochal.
