There's speculation that he glitched into an area (similar to VoS, KW or Term.) and picked up a legendary ghost but a LOT of people are calling bs on this. None of the dead ghosts that have been found in these areas give you shells. So, others are guessing he might have done something called an "inventory glitch". The "intrusion ghost shell" has been datamined and as of right now people are speculating that the only way to get other shells is by maxing rep with the tower npcs (other than pre-ordering the special editions or buying the limited edition). So, he definitely did some serious glitching or used some such method currently unknown. I don't really know and guessing is pointless. Unless he specifies one way or the other if he did or did not do something considered breaking ToS, we'll never know. (I saw a comment from OP that said he was doing [rid] &/or was on [vnus] and [glitched out of the world in a crazy way] but it wasn't a specific description of the event and he didn't say if it was on purpose or an accident.) In response to some comments stating that getting into the areas many people have found is hacking, cheating and illegal: Glitching is not necessarily cheating and it isn't hacking. Hacking usually involves coding and manipulating said coding and bypassing security programs, etc.. Cheating is using means not provided in the game to profit. Glitching/Exploiting is using a flaw in the game's design to do various things ( Loot Cave) whether for profit or not, although it's most often used to cheat. With that out of the way... I definitely think he falls under the "cheating" category. It's not illegal per se but it will earn you a ban. People forget the Terms of Service is a literal meaning of the documentation... Bungie provided terms that you must adhere to in order to be provided with their service... You break them, that's on you. Doesn't matter how much time or money you spent; legal and business is very black and white most of the time without much grey area or wiggle room.

I understand that glitching through the game and breaking it like this, like it says in the terms of the game, has its own actions and consequence but, its also unfair to bann his account like this. All thew hours, time and money wasted on this game for Bungie to just "turn the switch", like someone here in the forum said, its unecessary. And on another note, theres a comment from "Vampire Nox", that I will not lie, this is completely true, but a complete bann was not necessary. At least in my opinion.
