Guys, I am struggling with rares. So badly that I made this thread so that we could discuss each others experiences with rares. But I have some theories. I don't know about you but my friends are getting an awful lot of green, blue and purple orbs. They're acquiring them so often that my friend who got the game a WEEK LATER than me is already lvl 25 and I'm still lvl 23. (I've been playing since the games release date. So yes, I've put in more hours than him) He is playing as an awoken warlock. My other friend who also gets lots of orbs is also an awoken warlock. I am an exo-male titan. I have a friend who is also exo-male titan and he too, struggles with obtaining rares at such frequent rates that our other two awoken warlock friends are seeing. So that's my first theory, is rarity at a low for warlocks?? Or is it the race? Do awoken players not have to look so hard for rares?? You can imagine the frustration... I get on the game everyday at the same time as him and play all the same missions with him and we stop playing at the same time. Yet he managed to get almost double the orbs and engrams. I did a lot of in-game research, the fastest way to reach cryptarch ranks is of course, to decrypt engrams. (Buying engrams helps escalate lvl but not significantly) My friend is lvl 6 cryptarch and he admitted to almost never buying the stocked engrams because half the time they're crappy items. I am lvl 4 cryptarch. This helps prove that he is obtaining engrams at a much faster rate than I am, and remember! He isn't playing more than me! We always play cooperatively. He also has 140 weapon parts. I have 80. That means he has dismantled almost double the amount of weapons that I have.. Another factor that helps prove that the game is showering him with goodies and I just get the crust of the sandwich. I have another theory... I made 3 characters but none of my friends have done that. I thought maybe since all 3 characters can share the same vault... that maybe Bungie thinks I could already be acquiring lots of equipment through my other players? So maybe that's what's making stuff so rare for me? I don't know guys... Id love to hear your feedback. I'd hate to believe that Bungie made it so that other players just simply find stuff easier than other players.. That's so unfair and i couldn't think of a better example of discrimination towards a player. Thanks for reading, I'll try to respond to any thoughts and comments as promptly as I can.
