I have really enjoyed playing Destiny so far. I feel like it's poor old Phogoth all chained up in the Summoning Pits just waiting for the next fireteam to come along and break those chains so he can run free and fulfill his potential however an oversized, energy beam puking Ogre does that.
However, like any great game of this type and in this current age of gaming there are a lot of issues that need to be fixed. A lot more than other games I think and the reason is because Destiny is supposed to be all the genres we as gamers enjoy as one. I'm sure it will get better with time but sometimes too little is too late. Anyways, since Bungie reportedly monitors this forum instead of treating it like a suggestion box strategically placed over the trash can, I have come to deliver a warning:
Bungie, you are entering a Darkness Zone. Respawning is restricted.
I'm not going to sit here and beat a dead horse over all of the things that need to be addressed but using your patch notes for update 1.0.1.4 as Exhibit A, you have set the tone for the rest of the life of Destiny. Patch 1.0.1.4 (look up the notes if you don't already know what it affects) is proof that you are not listening. People are bringing up legitimate and fair issues that need to be addressed and to date after spending hours on these forums I have not seen any response from anyone company related. These aren't issues that sprang up yesterday. They are things that we have noticed since launch day.
Not one.
In this case, no communication is still communication. Negative communication at that. It's communicating to me that you're not listening and you're not taking complaints seriously. If you were, then you would be communicating directly with us, gathering data and working to prioritize which issues need to be fixed first. You made 500 million in sales, I don't think it's outlandish to expect that you pay at the very least one person 15 dollars an hour to continuously monitor AND converse with customers who have legitimate feedback. Yet, all we hear are the crickets. Is it that much to ask for responses to our feedback and also a sticky communicating what is in the works and possible solutions that are being looked into for our concerns?
You have set and communicated the tone for this franchise as one that doesn't care about the people that have more than reimbursed your investment costs. That's a dark zone to be in and while it may not be today, tomorrow, next week or even next year, eventually it will be your undoing and you won't be able to respawn from it. This is your warning, take it seriously because after a while people, fanboys included, will stop posting on the forums and start spending their time and money elsewhere because of your utter disregard for excellent customer service and interaction.

I fully agree. And what is more insulting is a title of this patch "Supporting a post-launch community." that is like a slap in the face as this have NOTHING in common with most urgent issues! So basically they release a patch with ridiculous little number of changes, call it an answer to community and even in those very few changes (that nobody really asked for) they add "You will remain dead if you were dead when the mission ended. That will be addressed by a future patch"! What is this? They as well could add "and all known bugs will be addressed later... maybe...".

4 通の返信Hate Mailerにより編集済み: 9/23/2014 6:28:12 PMThat's why I said they should hire me. I'm on here enough as is, they could just pay me 13 and I would be happy. But, I fear that once I join the Dark side over at BungieVision they will turn me into a mute as well. They'll likely have me post an update that says something like
• Lowered difficulty upon spawning in after death in the Tutorial mission.
as part of "patch" 1.0.1.4.5 or something.

1 返信Did you happen to read the news post under the Patch (Developer Notes)? While I'm not going to leap up and proclaim them saints absolved of all fault, they did address a fairly wide swath of the concerns that have flown across these forums like birds in a tornado.

13 通の返信I think Activision has a lot to do with the bullsh!t in this game. bungie said this was their dream game. going bye their history this dose not add up. Halo had a good story, the chat system got better over the series.with Destiny the story is a f@cking joke and no chat in the crucible makes f@cking no sense.(yeah! 3v3 with randoms -with no chat....lets go with that) bungie knows better they have been in the game a long time. destiny seems to be torn apart and paste together ready for DLC. bungie was so happy to get away from M$ and then they immediately signed a deal with Activision I hope that wasn't a huge mistake.

7 通の返信They don't care they have their money from the work they put into the halo franchise for Microsoft. Since they shit all over that fan base by getting a raging hard on for Sony now they no longer care. Everyone who thought they were getting a quality story driven experience already bought the game. Bungie has to do no work now as far as they are concerned. The people who suckle upon the disease ridden, tarnished fake golden plated nipple of bungie will still gladly shovel out extra cash for any and all expansions regardless of their inherent quality.

To an extent, I agree. It is possible they are working on stuff and it's just taking a while. Not all things can be fixed within a week of launch. However, I wish that they would get over their cryptic 'everything is a secret which will be better one you discover out for yourself', now that the game has actually launched. I'm afraid that so much time in the darkness of nda's has trained them to hoard all nuggets of info, just like food during the great depression. It was fine then, but we are in a new age now, the age of Destiny, and the weekly updates lack substance. A simple "we are also looking into balance issues, buggy netcode, as well as considering numerous community ideas for inclusion into the game, more info as it becomes available," would be very encouraging.

1 返信The minute you saw activision you should've known they stopped caring about their community. Plus all the interviews with the debs talking about the games features turned out to be downright lies. All complete overhyped lies. This game will die and I will be happy when it does. Last time I ever invest in a collectors edition anything with activision associated with it.

I'm afraid this game will turn out doomed and most likely because of Activision... I mean they hardly ever listen to the community on games their involved with... Cod franchise is a good example how they can be the death of games... Activision is the foremost greedy evil entity the gaming business

25 通の返信Are all of the people replying to this thread underaged? I just seriously can't believe how the other side of the issue hasn't been considered here, remotely. I don't defend Destiny or Activision's desecration of it for DLC, but SIGNIFICANT and MAJOR updates - even just statements - ALWAYS take time to produce. They ALWAYS have to go through legal. They ALWAYS have to be approved and verified that they aren't going to cause more trouble or conflict down the road - for example - Say Bungie wants to give us the DLC for free as an apology. You think that they could just turn around in 2 days and say "Here you go! lol!" Have you ever worked in any professional business at ALL? Do you realize that such an action would require a COMPLETE restructuring of ALL financial projections, all server-hosting services, all employees to maintain that equipment, ALL advertising would need to be recreated or heavily modified and all of those staff members would need to make massive changes too... Do any of you in this thread understand what I'm getting at? Change is on its way, but it doesn't happen in two friggin weeks for something this massive. Your impatience says more about you than it does about Bungie.

1 返信I couldn't agree more. My immediate response to seeing the latest patch notes subtitles "Supporting a post-launch community" was to laugh out loud. I don't expect the major flaws to be addressed immediately in hot fixes, but I expect Bungie to at minimum respond to the same 10 pieces of very real feedback that we keep seeing and saying over and over. If they're not planning on changing things at least let us know so we can move on.

4 通の返信Might I point out we are in week 3 of Live play without a established PTR. Changes can't come as quickly as many think. Chat is a big one. If you played wow when chat first came out it was crap. I think Bungie is doing what they can. The work they do is hard and tedious. I agree in one aspect they should acknowledge they are working on some of the major issues but they have stated things on some issues that people just care not to listen to such as the loot system. If we are three months in and my dodge charger still shoots me into space (defiance) then I can see that being them not listening. I am in college studying game development and I will tell you now change can be slow.
-
1 返信What I find strange is that if Bungie actually commented on these forums and pinned their responses to the top so people could see trending themes we wouldn't have as many people here moaning.
-
1 返信-patches across 4 consoles unprecedented take time to pass. -the first patches were likely planned way before launch. -They can't changed the net code to add local voice chat overnight.\ -bungie has been one of the best companies at responding to forum feedback its been like 2.5 weeks, give them time
-
Excellent post, but unfortunately the white knights of destiny came out and didn't even read what you posted and commented the usual "expansions take time, blah blah blah". You are making a simple request - the devs communicate with us or at least let us know our complaints are being heard. I agree 100% with that sentiment. Unfortunately the white knights lump asking for communication with saying the game is bad for x reason...
-
1 返信Nice. Last night was the first night I did not play. I started a week after launch. I just started the grinding on my first 20. I have lost interest. The non communication issue has been with us from the very beginning. It is really frustrating that Bungie will not comment on this. I know I would have more fun if I could LFG in the tower. There are many other issues. We have seen the posts. Thanks for your post. It was a good read. I feel the same. I am sorry now that I bought the pass. I truly hope they do something.

All I ask is for the loot system to get fixed. That is all. How hard can it be to adjust some numbers here and there and then send those numbers through a patch and viola! New loot system that actually gives you legendaries for your purples and so on. Play a match at the crucible just for the "fun" of it, come number 1 and whats this?! I got a legendary engram while the worst player got what he deserved, nothing (Or at least a gun... a rare gun... Not even a rare gun, a uncommon gun). But noo, We ain't gonna get it because RNG is a bad mistress.
-
I agree with you 100%. There are so many issues, and i do not demand anything, just some communication and feedback from the actual company besides corporate bs lingo or smartass responses would be great. Everytime bungie avoids a question, the actual answer seems to be what we were worried about.
-
Perhaps they are handling more game breaking things, such as vault issues first while fine tuning customer requests. They clearly have a vision of the game and while they may cater to some fan demands they clearly wont change things they see as damaging to they're vision

Couldn't agree more. Neglect is the worst form of abuse. Love the game, but I've got issues with some design choices and I'd like to feel like that at least matters. Ultimately it doesn't matter, already paid for the pass, I'm in it for the long haul. As a fan, my money isn't what's on the line. What's in jeopardy is my trust in a game dev who's products I've been purchasing since I was in high school. My belief that "love, Bungie" actually means something.
