Are shotguns OP in pvp? (poll)
As I have played destiny pvp, I have noticed an overwhelming use of special weapons, the most notorious being the shotgun. these weapons basically one shot to two shot players in close range to midrange environment. Constantly I see these weapons taking the place of primary weapons. and personally this bothers me because I personally love getting into fight were you hear the sound of some one shooting an auto rifle at someone using a pulse rifle, when suddenly he gets ambushed by a guy with a scout rifle. All I hear now is the sound of shotguns and fusion rifles.

Same can be said about shotguns in CQC (close quarters combat) ... Both are powerful and both are almost unstoppable when used correctly. Who's fault is it if you hop out of a corner and get blasted? The rifles are mid-long range weapons. hand cannons and shotguns are close range. Weapons are there. Use them accordingly. This thing goes with logic

They are made for close range, which pretty much every map is...especially exodus blue. They aren't OP, they are doing what they are soupposed to. I use auto & shotgun mostly. I like the scout & fusion but I can barely get quick kills most of the time, main reason why I switched

Not so much, it's just that the maps are so tight and the sniper lines are total crap and blocked every which way, shotguns are the only thing that makes sense. Even the larger maps generally suit shotguns better.

Tyr-Thanatosにより編集済み: 9/22/2014 9:18:33 PMi think all the weapons are OP...i mean they have to be since there has literally been a complaint in the forums, at one time or the other, about every single weapon in the game, including supers...i suggest they get rid of all the weapons altogether and either use harsh language or sling shots...then maybe everyone will be happy. ( i bet if that happened, people would still complain that the harsh language and slings shots would be too OP) smdh

With the ability to teleport and close proximity sensor in mostly small maps of 6 v 6, why wouldnt you use a shotgun? I do see this alot with hunters since they have the ability to go invisible for a short time and their blade dancer specials totally ruin the fun.

2 通の返信Shotguns are fine, but the special ammo isn't special. That's the real problem . What if the ammo crates only gave you 2 shots? That would change the game dramatically.

8 通の返信Ok idiots, we all understand. Shotguns are close quarters weapons. They should dominate in close quarters. However, you seem to be forgetting the fact that 90% of all maps are close quarters, meaning all anyone ever uses is shotguns. The main problem is the infinite supply of supposedly "special" ammo.

1 返信I do feel sorry for people that use shotguns, its takes a lot of skill than they are given credit for. They have a close range weapon, so they need to get close to you to use it without dying. If you don't have a close range weapon then really don't start going into tight corridors or small rooms, stick out in the open where you have distance on your side. If people are running right up to someone with a shotgun they can't start complaining that its OP or needs a nerf. Its a shotgun and does that anyway. This is coming from someone that doesn't use a shotgun and is terrible at pvp.
