Im used to MMO's, but damn Im starting to feel like the game is putting me in a catch 22. I need to do higher level content so I can get better loot so I CAN do the higher level content. But when I try the higher level content I get my ass handed to me because I dont have any loot that will let me not get my ass kicked by the high level content! I did the a lvl 22 strike on the Moon with two other lvl 20's. A titan, a warlock, and I was a Hunter. Things were going well until we got to the boss. The difficulty spiked right through the -blam!-in' roof. I mean im used to strike endbosses where there are a lot of extra enemies, but we could barely stay in the room with the boss. Just the regular enemies could take us down with a few hits, much less the boss. We tried a bunch of times and after seeing how impossibly hopeless it was, we gave up.
Grind is one thing, but this isnt just Grind, its luck too. Like being lucky enough to get Light-infused equipment drops from enemies so you can kill higher leveled enemies with a better chance of getting Light-infused equipment drops!
I'm basically just WAITING. Waiting for the game to say "oh, here's a piece of gear you can use. NOW you can go do some harder stuff" In the meantime, I just do the same strikes over and over and roll the dice at the end for loot.

Do strike playlists that are level appropriate. Anything that has a 20+ designation is meant for people who have that light level since they're most likely appropriately geared. The higher level strikes don't necessarily give you better rewards because of RNG. The three of you should have been doing the lvl 20 strike playlists, not the weekly heroic strike.

Level 20's should not be doing those strikes unless they know how to stay alive consistently. I also find teamwork is essential the higher the levels go. Playing with a couple friends is a totally different gameplay experience than playing with randoms. I've never been the guy to use a mic and it's ridiculous how much it helps. I haven't done any pvp with a team but I don't even think I'd suck that bad if I did (I'm normally horrible)

Only thing you can rely On is your vendor set. I bought my chest piece but was really lucky to get my helmet from an engram last night. The weekly raid though, I believe, guarantees you at least one set piece. I think the raid sets are upgrades from the faction sets but I'm not positive on that.

Foxにより編集済み: 9/15/2014 11:48:50 AMIn respect to what you said about the moon strike, you're not supposed to camp the chamber. It only makes it much harder. Cannot tell how many times my team has died b/c I've been paired with people who fervently believe this even when its clear that its not working well. You have to move out into the large room and spread out and stay in motion (and maybe have 1 person camp by the rocks for safety). I was always the last of my squad alive when this happened and would have to revive them or stay alive until they could do it themselves. Every time. They would be in the room or in front of it and I would be out there alone. At level 20, you shouldn't have had any problem. And about grinding for light gear: play the Crucible. It is much more rewarding with rare+ gear. Seems like every other match you will receive rare gear, which after level 20 always winds up having light on it. Getting legendary is quite annoying however since it is at random class when you get an engram for it.

Agreed, camping the chamber for the moon strike causes a Shrieker to spawn in the chamber. I've seen stuff like this on other strikes as well, for example, captains spawn in the room outside Sepiks Prime if someone stays in there.

Try the crucible. You can get some really good gear form it and it doesn't matter if you have the best or worst score to get a reward(s). Each match can go up to 10min but often ends early because of the score. The only downside is that the. Loot is randomly givin out so it's not a 100% chance that you will get some gear.

Yeah I will but im currently "grinding" to get the vanguard handcannon "The Devil you Know". And unfortunately, I cant get Vanguard marks/rep from the Crucible. Granted you are correct, that IS a way to get better loot so I can do better at getting the Vanguard stuff. I'll give it a try :3

It's only at the level of "ok" its an excotic, its good for pve but most of the time if you need 3 shots to kill someone in PVP an Auto rifle will take you down before you get to the third shot and that is if you don't miss, some require 4-5 body shots, headshots 2 to 3, i am still in the process of unlocking the second set where you get 2 more bullets with random damage and it has 13 ammo in the cylinder. In all honesty its a mixed bag, i kill people much more easy with my lvl 18 blue auto-rifle then with the Hawkmoon and i have the tendency to not miss a single shot with it. I am collecting some footage with it and ill make a montage next week, got some cool kills with it and it defo feels great to nail 3 people in a row with it, as opposed to doing the lawn with the auto-rifles.

lol, if you were the last person to leave then it WAS you xD. First the Titan left after we all died 3-4 times (he knew we were screwed). Then I stuck around for a while to try to help the Warlock on his suicide misson, waved to him a couple times to try and convey my sympathy after multiple failures, then left him to his fate.

I think thus far I have to say im lucky as far as strikes go. I run strikes with people that are 1-2 levels below the minimum to run em and they get wiped 5-6 times, and our whole group wipes 2 times on average, but no one leaves (probably cause im the only 23 running them through atm >.>) but even then when I was 18-20 no one ever left, we just kept going till we got it. Its nice to know there's people out there that will stick with you till the end, even if you dont know them. P.s. That slide during sprint is amazing for hitting cover when you need it.
