I love bungie, I loved halo, but let's face it. Destiny was a let down. There is no way you can objectively justify the lack of a story, the redundant missions, the horrible dialogue, etc. Yet people try to justify it anyway. I'm putting together the most ridiculous defenses of Destiny's mediocrity I can find:
1. The dialogue is supposed to be short and to the point.
2. Destiny is not an MMO, so don't expect to have more than 3 players or voice chat
3. Destiny is an MMO, you better get used to it. MMOs rarely come with the whole story.
4. The campaign is just a prologue. It will be much better when they release DLC.
5. The missions are supposed to be repetitive.
6. The missions aren't repetitive at all!
7. Go play call of duty you cod fanboy.
8. go play halo you halo fanboy!
9. Yes, halo had interesting campaigns, but this is not Halo! Go play halo if you love it so much.
10. I think bungie did a really really good job
11. The ghost is a ROBOT! He is supposed to sound emotionless.
12. the ghost has a lot of personality, you just don't understand Peter dinklage's deadpan delivery.
13. Destiny is really really good! You are just a troll.
14. bungie has a plan!
15. You haven't even played the game!
16. It's an RPG! RPG'S aren't supposed to be about action.
17. Destiny is not an RPG, it's a shared world shooter.
18. You are just butthurt because you keep dying.
19. The story is in the grimoire! Just open your computer or mobile app during the game!
20. The game starts after you beat it.
Face it guys, I really wanted Destiny to be fantastic. I like it a lot, but it was nowhere near my expectations. Expectations bungie had me believing.
Feel free to add your own.

I love how the Strike missions get more hard in difficulty and that the weekly challenges are difficult to get through. It's a challenge and takes time. Loving this game and playing it with new friends.^^

6 通の返信I like it. Though some aspects I don't like. I'm hooked for the moment. I would have liked more in game explanation of subclasses, spin metal, and a couple other things.

HolyBudzにより編集済み: 9/14/2014 7:28:09 PMThis game is great, it is a little repetitive with waves of trash mobs, but consoles have needed a game like this for quite a while, I'm a PC mmo type guy and this game allows me to sit on my couch and play a awesome beautiful looking game without dropping a sip of beer, Jah feel me?...I give it a 9.5/10

1 返信Desticleにより編集済み: 9/14/2014 7:15:55 PMLack of story- would rather have a game with great mechanics then a game with hundreds of cutscenes that I would just want to skip over anyway after the first play through. Redundant missions- Perhaps they are redundant but who cares when they are fun and intense. Change up your play style and class or play solo and then with 1 other person then 2 other people. To me each fight feels different even if I have done it before. And the enemies and spawn points do change when you do the missions at the higher levels (20+) Horrible dialogue-It's not horrible just not great. I thought the voice acting was good other than Peter Dinklage which is disappointing. You may find it hard to believe that some people really enjoy this game just like how I find it hard to believe anyone can say its at all a bad game. Stop buying into the hype of video games and you'll stop being disappointed all the time. And stop trying to force your opinions on others.

I am loving the game. Honestly, I havnt been so wrapped up in a story for a game in a while. It is all perception and preferences. Most of the story co.we from the grimiore, which based on the "run-and-gun" attitude of the new generation of gamers, I doubt gets read. The environments are well detailed and actually tells some of the story in itself. Empty vehicles, impacts on the ground, marks on the walls... Etc. All of these contribute to the story and atmosphere as a whole. Maybe people overhyped themselves with the game? This happens a lot. I have seen people overhype food and were dissapointed when they ate it. I, for one, did not care to know anything about the game until I seen the launch trailer and merely picked up the game as a whim. Having a blast. So, maybe the problem isn't the game. Maybe, the problem is people hyping themselves up and being "brainwashed" by games handing everything to them (story and gameplay-wise). Idk, just a little interjection.

2 通の返信"Face it. Destiny was a let down." Because your word is absolute law and we must all bow down to it. You know what? I agree that Destiny is grindy and reptitive with a lackluster story, but for some reason I absolutely love it. To me it wasn't a let down at all. I can't even explain why I love it so much, but I just can't stop playing. I think the problem here, like with other games such as Watch Dogs, people get so ridiculously hyped for a game that when it's not the holy grail of all video games, they immediately start flaming on it. Go ahead and add my argument to the list, but I blame hype. Hype is a bad thing.

5 通の返信A Fawking Pandaにより編集済み: 9/14/2014 5:59:44 PMHonestly, I just got on the forums to make a thread just like this.. I've no-life'd the game since launch, only sleeping about 8 hours since then. (I love getting ahead of the pack on launch, I did it with Halo reach, Halo 4 and many other Xbox and PC games... its jsut what I enjoy) I found the game lacking a lot of content, I beat the story before actually completing ALL the missions and didnt know I had beaten the game until I completed my last 2 missions afterword... I've hit the glimmer cap more times then I care to count so now, in order to continue getting payed for all my hours of grinding, I have been buying weird shit that i dont even really want from the tower.. I am now filling my inventory with backup ammo from the gunsmith.. so i guess its fine now.. But really bungie? 25k cap? I hope to god they are pulling one of those "We're stopping people from getting too far ahead in the first week." things they just LOVE to do on launch.. I have a level 10 encrypter and have over 300 weapon parts, over 300 saphire wire as well as a few legendery items for both Titans and Whorelocks.. All because I've grinded for so long to get better gear that bungie doesnt want to give me.. I have gotten well over 100 engrams since i last got an item that helped me.. and I even had to buy an exotic to increase my level.. the only legendery engram that iv decoded into somthing MY class could use.. was a rocket launcher.. which i find to be utter bullshit.. unless bungie plans on releaseing a trading system.. which I've heard some people talking about.. but again.. Bungie has yet to say anything.. I've hit my weekly cap in crucible and vanguard marks... (100 marks each for anyone who doesnt know) Which brings me to my PVP adventures... PVP in destiny is nothing but a joke, titans and warlocks are STILL OP, and no.. You cant defend yourselves and say "No.. Hunter is op!" Because honestly... hunters are simply not... I used blade dancer against a titan that was corner camping like a COD fag.. Melee'ed him 3 times then he ground slammed and killed me out of my ult.. Hunter face a constant stream of bullshit such as this, on top of the fact that we have no armor and no recovery... the latency in pvp is so bad that 4-5 kills you will usually break even with the person you are fighting against (killing each-other at the same time) and you also get magically shot through walls when running around corners for the same reason... I've learned that to be "good" in pvp, you must make a Whore-lock and find the best shotgun you can... and just walk around shotgun-meleeing people.. In all the game is lacking content.. though I guess im enjoying having nothing to do and waiting for bungies next play.. which will hopefully be adding more for higher levels to do as well as fixing that pvp... If not... this will jsut be another defiance... Edit- I went through some of the comments... and Really? This reminds you of diablo.. wow.. I'm glad i never even attempted to get diablo 3 because i knew it would ruin my experiances as a child in diablo 2... Diablo was NEVER as repetitive or lacking in content as destiny.

4 is my absolute favorite. People don't understand that there was once a time where games had been released and they were done. Done like "Our story is complete" not done like "This is our prologue, give us more cash to see the whole story". This is just ridiculous.

15 通の返信Rubio Audiotreにより編集済み: 9/14/2014 3:58:36 PMThis is exactly what i'm saying apologist are trying to make actual glaring problems with the game seem little. When the problems with destiny are very big issues as a BASE GAME with the current content it has. My main problem is that Destiny has many elements of an MMO but it doesn't come together well, in fact Idc what bungie labeled this game as it it in an mmo. It shares many similarities with one the only difference is, is it's not put well together. Their are no NPC at all in the game despite vendors who don't give you missions or have an effect on the story what so ever. Their is no social elements beyond just saying hi and dancing and playing with a ball in a very small hub. And their is no in game economy. That's just one of the many issues i have with destiny it's not a lively world, theirs nothing in the hub, it's all empty. Destiny is not a bad game by any means in fact i want the game to be great, but it's not. People are ignoring so many problems because it's bungie but if you look at destiny for what it is, it leaves alot to be desired even with Co-op elements which are much better in their previous games.
