And I agree but not for the reason she states. I’m 43 year old professional with two kids and I play video games. Always have from the day video games were played in the Arcade. She cannot believe I would take time off work for the rest of the week to play a game. She asks me when I’m going to grow up. Well… honestly if grown-ups don’t play video games I really don’t want to grow up. As far a vacation time goes, the last vacation we took was at Christmas last year and we took a south Carrabin cruise for 7 days. Now, that was expensive and by the 6th day all I wanted was to go home and eat some real home cooking. After this vacation (at home with Destiny) I will only be wanting more and this is my idea of a vacation. Go to faraway places, meet new people, try new things, drink too much and maybe get into a fight. All this from the comfort of my lazy-boy and on plasma and the bathroom is right across the hall next to the fridg.
Thanks for all the support guys, some real good stuff here to read.

That's harsh mate. I'm 32 and quite lucky that my Girlfriend understands my hobbies although isn't a gamer herself. She is so considerate that after our holiday next week she will be visiting her parents for a few days so I can have some quality time with my Xbox one...I think she is worried it will get weird and to be honest aftet a week away not playing destiny it might! To be honest I get the most grief from friends who aren't gamers.

1 返信My wife says there's something wrong with me as well, but she's been saying that for 25 years. Remind her that video games are cheaper than bars or golf.

3 通の返信Edit. Just wanted to add that my wife is just about the best thing to ever happen to me. If not for her I would be working at burger king and wondering why I don’t get paid 15 dollars an hour to answer a buzzer. She is more than I deserve, bring balance to the house, the best person in the world with the kids and keep everything moving. The best thing about her is she will tell me what she is thinking (like WTF are you taking time from work to play a game for) but at the same time never make it an issue that interferes with our relationship. Honestly she has a point, but I still think like a 16 year old. Would not trade her for the world because she bought me cheese-its, wine, and some EZ to cook lunches for the week. I think she enjoys kids.

People don't stop playing because they get old, they get old because they stop playing. ~My wife ( copied from one of our friends who refuses to quit playing games) There's absolutely nothing wrong with you, at least in the regard of playing video games. I got lucky and married a gamer though, so she understands the urge to continue gaming.

I'm sure your wife has some crappy "Hobbies" that she needs to stop and "grow up" about too. Other than that, maybe she's not thinking of the other alternatives that guys can usually do....drinking....skulking around shady places....hanging with unsavory people.....doing unsavory things, but yet even though you work hard pay bills, pay for expensive f'ing vacations she can't grasp that this is what you like to do as a de-stresser? Your wife needs to grow up and realize that societies standards that she believes in (AKA grown up men don't play video games) do not apply to everyone and that trying to fit everyone in that box is completely ILLOGICAL and limiting on the true personality of a person who might be weaker than thou to break through the peer/social pressure.

HardCandy1216により編集済み: 9/8/2014 1:39:47 PMMy husband and I are going to both be playing Destiny in separate rooms, I consider myself very lucky that we share the same hobbies and that he doesn't mind made ahead dinners lol! Probably won't see much of eachother in the coming weeks but that's okay

That sucks man. I'm married as well with 4 kids luckily my wife is supportive of my gaming hobby. Look at it this way, gaming allows you to be home with your family. At least you're not out at bar hitting on other women or being an abusive dbag. I hope she sees that she's lucky to have what she does.

I'm in the same boat brother. I'm 33 and just as you, I haven't taken a Vaca since Dec. She is like really, you are gonna play away for 10 days. What about the house, chores, kids. I just replied. ..you got that Right lol. I will make it up to her but for now it's game on. Plus if I wrap the kids up in the game too she really can't complain if we are playing together now can she haha.
