Destiny servers Will open early come launch
It's the same as the friends and family event that they had for the alpha. If anyone noticed there were people playing it before it was publicly released. I'm going to say maybe 2 days prior, this had me thinking family and friends of bungie will get early copy's and bungie will have opened the servers a couple days early. It wouldn't make sense to let everyone go in at once and put the servers online at the same time at launch. It would make sense for them to open it early and as people obtain the game they'll get in. It would explode bungies servers any other way.

2 通の返信I believe that the servers will be up and running prior to launch, and possibly even have Bungie Friends and Family playing. However, I'm pretty sure they aren't going to hit that "Go Public" button until 12am PST on 9/9. The Digital Guardian edition can be downloaded 2 days prior to the launch, but I seriously doubt that the digital edition will be allowed on the servers until midnight 9/9.

It all depends on where you live. I live on the East Coast of US. Servers go up at 12:00am PST which means I can not play Destiny until 3:00am EST. Ask any retailer that's having a midnight release. If you have the digital copy and you are on CST you won't be able to play until 2:00am etc. Servers will not be available until 12:00am PST so where ever you are at in the world do the math.

17 通の返信If that was the case why would they have it on the site stating that you can play at Midnight PST? July 26th they had everyone get on the Beta at the same time to test how many people the servers can handle. I believe that Bungie is prepared for everyone trying to get on at the same time. The beta was opened at the same time to everyone Its all tests they did to see if they can have us log in at the same time. at ONE time there was 853,235 players on at the same time. 12 通の返信I'm going with what Bungie and Sony say. Plus it was the same in the Beta. It became accessible for all at once. Plus they don't have regional servers, which is why we picked Europe OR Americas in the beta selection. Not est, cst blah blah blah. It will be 3am in EST no doubt. People are just in denial hardcore.

1 返信Agree, Purely from a server management reason. You have to turn something on early to make sure it is all working fine. There is no way you would turn something in just at the time and hope it works. The press also have to write reviews. They will get a press copy. If the servers are not up how are they going to play it??? Stats might be reset but the servers will be up if not a week before.

I wouldn't say there servers will explode considering it was the most heavily played beta in history. and the most ppl on a bungie game ever. millions and they didn't crash. hell the last day they dropped the servers one by one until it did crash on the last day. and they had it back up in ten min. I know. I was there when they did it.

Simply put, I think you are right, and they are wrong. If they bottle necked everyone onto the servers all at once it would fail spectacularly. Just like the Alpha and the Beta, they would start them up early, make sure everything is in order with friends, family and team members. I can't believe people would think they would set one time to open them, that's like NASA launching a rocket before preflight checks!
