How DARE Bungie give us nothing. Do they even know how much WORK AND EFFORT it was TRUDGING through their wonderfully entertaining and enjoyable to play video game? We were BASICALLY video game testers, except, we didn't have to try walking into the same corner and jumping for hours on end to see if it would break the game, and other boring bullshit, and instead just played the game as we pleased... BUT WE WEREN'T PAYED FOR IT (unless you count the emblems that a large number of players qualify for, assuming they filled the fairly mundane criteria). This is SLAVE LABOR. OKAY? SLAVE LABOR (which people did voluntarily by preordering the game, or getting a beta code otherwise, and then choosing to enter those codes, choosing to play/ continue to play, and they were free to stop and resume whenever they wanted). WE DESERVE STUFF. WE ARE [b]ENTITLED[/b] to STUFF because of the fact that we opted in to slavishly toiling in this fun and entertaining game that we were and still are looking forward to on it's merits as a video game. OKAY?! Oh, and the fact that the majority of us were preordered as a method of getting those codes also grants us access to some extra Vanguard equipment too, I guess. But we should consider that a reward for preordering, and not for playing the beta (which most people still regard the beta/ opportunity to enjoy the game early as the ACTUAL reward), but ignore that because it detracts from mine and the OPs original point. THESE GREEDY video game developers. Taking up our FREE TIME with their recreational hobbies, and not even giving us stuff, am I right?

You actually got two rewards out of it. 1: Being able to experience this great game before it's release 2: You got a unique emblem out of it. I for one wasn't able to download the beta in time and was really disappointed that I didn't have the chance to enjoy it. Beta's are for testing, you were never going to be able to carry your guardian over from the start.

Just a few points I want to bring up: 1. No carry overs. One way to put it is if you want an early boost in the game, there's the early vanguard armory access. Specific people aid for those and it will reduce whatever value it has when anyone in the beta gets to have something carried over. It's bad for their business model. 2. It's not that big of a deal and I'm honestly surprised by people complaining about no carry overs. I have been in countless beta alpha and beta programs and most of the time nothing gets carried over at launch. And it is not a big deal at all. You are setting yourself up for disappointment if you always believe something will get carried over during a beta. 3. Whether or not you have an early boost or early vanguard armory access won't matter in the long run because the real gear will be at level 20. Whatever cool drop you may have gotten is not worth having in the long term . Your levels will breeze by and you won't even remember that cool drop or be using it a lot. 4. The other reason behind wipes is to reduce any possibility of glitches items or character bugs that were overlooked which may have consequences for the final version. You never know. On top of that Bungie already stated their desire for a clean fresh start so it will be an even field when the game launches. How soon people get access to the armory or how soon the game becomes uneven is another issue. 5. The beta was an invitation to people to come and try it out. There was no coercion, and it was totally your choice to participate (without compensation). Expecting something for your troubles just because you participated in the beta is just absurd. Recognition can be given ( like the moon mission emblem) but absolutely nothing that gives you an edge on the field. 6. Speaking of edges, it's already clear that Bungie wanted to monetize that by making access to the vanguard armory because people will always seek that edge. But this is as close as you get to it. And it's something temporary too because you certainly won't be using that gear at end game. Expecting an equivalent without paying extra for it isn't going to fly by their terms.

You know what they say, assuming makes an ass out of you and me. As much as I would of loved to keep some of the things I received, (worked hard for that vanguard Rank 1, almost 2), you'll end up getting better things and tossing your level 9 rare blue equipment the second you find something better. Just don't go into a beta expecting everything to be permanent. Since betas aren't set in stone, nothing is.
