I hate the ignorant people who see games as the cause of all violence in the world, as if there are no other reasons or that violence is new. The ignorant see games as the cause off all murders, wars, assaults, fights, -blam!-s, and teen pregnancies. Video games are merely a scapegoat for more complicated issues by the media, mainly. This has been the case for not only video games, but other means of entertainment, for example, rock and roll.

1 返信I agree, but while most people blow it out of proportion, violence can be caused by exposer to violent games, that is if the adults don't let the kids know that violence is not a good thing, or they don't care what there kids do, the problem is not the games but the adults letting their kids have violent games without a lesson on the subject of violence

Some people are control freaks. It goes all the way back to "Seduction of the Innocent" written by Fredric Wertham. In it he wrote that comic books were brainwashing children into violent juvenile delinquents as well as converting them to homosexuality. There was no scientific proof, just anecdotes and interviews of kids in mental institutions and juvenile hall. The fact that mentally ill and juvenile offenders were comic book readers was submitted as proof to his theory. The book was soon rejected by the majority of the mental health community. If it were true then Japan would be a cesspool of violent chaos. Still some people try the same basic argument; movies, tv, games, the internet- corrupting society. Only an insane person can't tell the difference between blowing away an enemy in a game from doing real harm to a living being.
Video games are merely a scapegoat for more complicated issues by the media
Yup, Parents blaming Video games they bought for sh*t blaming TV shows/channels they could easily block for stuff groups accusing games of being anti-this for not having this. everything is stereotypical, sexist, offensive, racist, etc etc. People have always b*tched and moaned about games, but I think it's gotten so much worse.
