Do you support Obama's authorization and conduction of air strikes in Iraq?
As many of you know, IS has rapidly advanced through Iraq as the Iraqi military struggles to counter them. However, in light of recent events where IS is threatening to kill a large minority religious group of people besieged on a mountain, Obama has decided to conduct air strikes to protect them. Additionally, Obama authorized the use of air strikes to defend Irbil, the US embassy in Baghdad, and Americans throughout Iraq.

I support this. If we do nothing we are basically letting a religious cleansing happen. So yea, drop the 1 ton JDAMs. How about for this one we break out the leftover napalm? Lets get some rolling thunder up in there. ISIS needs to be destroyed.

He's specifically doing strikes to allow people to escape being murdered by ISIS, so, why in the gods names would anyone be against it? It's not a prolonged engagement or any such nonsense. We're not getting into another war we don't need to be in, and it's unquestionably in the moral right.

Politicians are lying scum. An army General was asked if he would go into politics and this was his response. "War is a dirty game, but politics? never!" so Obama can go -blam!- himself. rather than his people for a change.

The way I see it, the iraqis put themselves in this position. Obama (and I only say him because he is CiC, but otherwise a complete moron in foreign affairs) offered to keep troops there for security but on the condition they have blanket immunity. The iraqi government refused and now they don't have the moral or training to combat an insurgency. I personally don't think we should help them for the aforementioned reason but I'm glad we are because, as the unwritten protector of the world (for some stupid reason still) it's our duty to protect our oil and mineral interests.
