So we shall see very soon if Bungie has built a game for, as Bungie has said, #1 Everyone to enjoy, #2 Destiny is a place you can "Lone Wolf it, if your that kind of person". So with Raids built only for the people who think video games are not for fun anymore but totally serious, to the point that maybe 15% of players who think, hey if you can not take this really serious then you can not raid. When did gaming stop being a game and fun and turn into training for the military? Raids do not need and should not be so hard that 6 random people who have a love or want to play Destiny, can not complete a raid in a reasonable amount if time. So did Bungie build a game for everyone or for just the people who do not go to school anymore, do not work, have a family, have no future goals, and just have free time and the perfect number of friends to raid with at all times? That all of them happen to Pro Raids too? What kind of world are we all supporting here with Destiny? I think this needs to be addressed. Don't you?

4 通の返信Hippo_Legacyにより編集済み: 8/7/2014 7:26:24 PMThere is only one raid at launch and bungie made it so it's a serious challenge. They don't expect you to go on a raid everyday, maybe just a once a month thing where you and some friends get together and have fun. The game is only as fun as you make it, if you want to have a fun experience then have a fun experience. Bungie isn't stopping you. I made three new destiny friends during the beta, and made two more just from posting shit on these forums. Friends won't be hard to come by. So there's no excuse not to be able to do a raid. Don't let these WoW vets make you think a raid is impossible unless you're a pro. The raids these guys are used to are -blam!-ing massive like 20 person raids. They don't know how a destiny raid will be, neither does anybody else. Block all the negative shit out and wait for the game to launch.

Oh for God's sake... For a lot of people, an epically difficult raid IS fun. But you want to take that away from us because you can't be bothered to try something difficult? It's one part of the game. Don't want a challenge? Go play that game on Vita where all you have to do is stroke a cat.

2 通の返信"When did gaming become military training?" What rock have you been under? Go back to some of the old school games from NES.. Some of the hardest games on earth. Ever play Ninja Gaiden? Or Dark Souls.. One game I remember was Soloman's Key for NES.. It got brutally hard towards the end. Hmm maybe some good old Gauntlet in the too. What I'm saying is that games have always been hard over the years, we have just been spoiled by the flood of softcore games being released over the past decade.

Finally another game that knows what I like.
Raids do not need and should not be so hard that 6 random people who have a love or want to play Destiny, can not complete a raid in a reasonable amount if time.
What about people like myself and my team that want a game to take itself and us seriously. We want a challenge. We want a hard fight. And that fight might not be easy enough for most people. which is unfortunate, but necessary to provide a well rounded gaming experience for casual players and hardcore players.
So did Bungie build a game for everyone or for just the people who do not go to school anymore, do not work, have a family, have no future goals, and just have free time and the perfect number of friends to raid with at all times?
Did you ignore the whole Beta? There is an Entire game to play casually. You can play story mode, PvP, strike missions, a whole lot of thing to do. Can the HARDCORE players please just get RAIDS to sink our teeth into? Seriously.... seriously... in a Gaming Era of Waypoint, Fast travel, Press A to Win gameplay, and CoD-ification of FPS games can Hardcore players please Get SOMETHING from these Triple-A games? Or do we have to constantly stroll through Boringly Easy games because Billy only has 1 hour to play after Homework. And Emily only getting 2 hours to play after work. Some of us will find the time and want to use that time playing a game that actually Challenges US. Please let us have just that.

Birdmanにより編集済み: 8/8/2014 4:57:06 AMYou're arguing semantics. Bungie said they made a game everyone can enjoy. Semantics would dictate "How much would each type of person enjoy?". Bungie is doing it as they said, it is you who chose to believe that the entirety of the game would be enjoyable by everyone, and in my opinion something that makes everyone happy just doesn't exist. However, there are different modes of gameplay that put a smile on everyone, so raids will be no different. I'm not going to judge the kind of person you are, because I can't. I will, however, gladly point out that you are using a forum to communicate your thoughts to the rest of the community, of which we all enjoy Destiny (or the thought of playing it at this point). I highly suggest you go from complaining about no matchmaking in raids, to posting a topic asking if anyone would like your potentially awesome firepower to help tackle the flagship challenge of Bungie's new IP?

A majority of gamers including myself enjoy a good challenge. What's fun about a game that is just "shoot this guy in the foot and you kill him," that gets boring after awhile. Raids are a way to have fun with friends and supports a challenge so that you and your friends can overcome together.

10 通の返信Lol... Please... For elitist? My 3 year old niece could play half of these shooters nowadays with the controller upside down. If you DON'T want your games to be challenging. Then go play board games. I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay 60 bucks for something I can run through in 2 weeks. I hope they make raids so hard that you little CoD, flash in the pan, smash and grab, instant gratification, whiny baby, speed running, lone wolfing, bullet absorbing gamers poop your pants and weep. I don't want 76 versions of the same game that releases twice a year. I want THIS GAME to kick my ass so I have to go back out there and get better stuff and come back and try again. I want THIS GAME to take a long time to finish. I don't want my game holding my hand. If you don't want your games tough, then why buy an Xbox? Go buy a Wii U. Stop dumbing down my 60 dollars.

It wouldn't bother me if a MM system was in place, but I really don't think that will happen now. You're just going to have to join a clan or make your own clan with specific requirements like the rest of us.

Got a wife, a kid, and a full time job man. And i'm still gonna get some buddies together and a couple randoms and i WILL play and beat the vault of glass no matter how hard the mother -blam!-er is. I like a challenge. Bungie made a rubik's cube. If you can't be bothered with the game and how it works then put it down and do a jigsaw. Bungie made a game like paintball. If you can't get a few friends together then you can't play paintball. Some things are created to be fun as hell to a massive group of people but you don't change the game so everyone can do it. You can't just build an easy rubik's cube cause it's too hard. You ARE however welcome to build your own game if you disapprove.

4 通の返信*shakes head* I'm bookmarking this thread I found from another thread because it sums it up so well about why Raids are the way they are, and why the game is better for it. Please do yourself, and everyone else, a favor by reading it before making more posts/topics about matchmaking in Raids. It's obvious you want it. Just, read the post, wait for the game to come out. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=123586157&postcount=1937

Raids are for everyone who plays it the way Bungie wants it to be played. There is no real argument against it. Bungie just wants ppl to play it a certain way, so you can not play it any other way. It is what it is. IDC if it has mm or not, I'm just tired of seeing these fail arguments against it. Arguments like : It's too hard for a team of randoms. - Playing with friends does not make the game easier... Randoms will cry for nerfs. - Irrelevant, considering there will be cries for nerfs with or without mm. People will end up leaving. - So PvP shouldn't have mm either? Because ppl will leave. Maybe only full teams vsing full teams?

Although im pro raid matchmaking I must disagree with the difficulty criticism Its the very top part of a game it should be challenging as they are not linked to the campaign but what you search out when you've finished the rest of PvE but raids should have matchmaking just so we can have fun experiencing a challenge and like a saiyan every defeat will only make us stronger when we decide to do a real run through aiming to reach the end then we hit up the forums or clan if we haven't been already Instead of denying people access embrace the community that loves a challenge for the challenges sake alone and to those against raid matchmaking if you can promise me that raids will be soooo boring and soooo dull that the only reason anyone would want to endure them is to reach the loot box at the end then I will concede there's no point having matchmaking in raids

3 通の返信It is designed to be challenging. I have a job, a family and am also a volunteer firefighter, but I still plan on scheduling time to do raids. There are so many complaints about there being no MM for the Raids so only people with enough friends can complete the game (which leaves the friendless high and dry) which makes as much sense to me as going after auto manufacturers for having cars that can reach top speeds of 150 mph or faster. 98% of the people who own those cars will never be able to drive them at those speeds............so they are not going to get what they payed for. Unless you are a race car driver you will never ever be able to drive it that fast.........so you are paying for something YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO USE!!! So with the lack of MM being a valid complaint for so many people..................making cars that can only go 70 mph should be demanded too.............wouldn't want people paying for things they cannot use.

2 通の返信Actually if you find 5 people to play with and coordinate schedules to do a 4 hour raid then that would mean you love the game that much more then those who aren't willing to put in the effort.

The game is built around being a legend if you don't have the time then you will be out shown and bested by raids according to Bungie. So the clan DoD will probably have a hard time trying to do raids but strikes are do-able nearly even solo-able so the game is for everyone it has amazing sightseeing, awsm pve, pvp, and the strikes and raids are alluring me to them Personally I've got medical problems that keep me home bound so I'm the type of guy that will put 1k plus hours into this guy

I feel like you don't understand what raids are. Raids are meant to be time consuming and very complicated in strategy and difficulty, that's what seperate a a raid from a strike, but that doesn't mean you can't have fun in a raid, if you one day have the opportunity to have some buddies sit down and join you in a raid for a while, then by all means, crack a beer and have fun. But raids have always been intended to challenge the players and their teamwork. You don't even have to raid either. You can live your life perfectly fine without raiding, and honestly, it probably won't affect you at all. The way I see it, I wouldn't invite 5 strangers to join me for a nice time somewhere if that's what I'm looking for, I'd want to be able to sit back with my friends and relax, talk, and have fun. And no, not everyone has that opprotunity. But everyone can still have fun elsewhere in destiny. Raids are not the only fun thing in the game
-
3 通の返信We only have one raid announced and you are circling the whole game around it. Now the raid may not be as hard so to speak than people are assuming, but one thing Bungie seemed to make clear from what I read the raids should take over 3 hours to do on a successful run. If that is the case I understand why not have matchmaking for it. You want to try to group with people that will stay until the end and not leave half way in. And it sounds to me like you have a bad stereotype of raiding. I don't know if that is from experience or things you have heard. There are people that take raiding serious, hell some people actually would get paid to raid in some of the big MMOs. I've raided from the hardcore to the very casual raider and I raid cause it's fun. There is something very satisfying with workers with a group of players and having victory over a hard challenge. You could be trying to beat the same boss for a whole month and once you get that first kill it's amazing for you and your group. And it's not for everybody, you might just enjoy doing strikes and exploring if that is your thing.

Actually from the get go they made sure any question about lone wolfing was meant toward story missions, and made sure to emphasize that end game would require team work in order to complete. Feather more I enjoyed the spat you made about raiders have literally nothing, when in reality you don't need to be hard core to raid you need to be competent. Sure those gamers make up a small portion of the raiding community but post are just your average joe who enjoy the struggle of moving against the grain.

When the government started funding development companies to condition people to be used to seeing warfare (seriously, they do that - I highly doubt they have any funding into bungie though) I can see where people are upset because they spend money on a game and want the full experience, but honestly look at how many games have elite achievements and hidden content that most people never find our worry about? I work full time and I am married with 3 kids. Does this mean I cannot raid? Of course not. I might not be able to raid as often as others, but I still have time to sit down with a group of friends once a week and enjoy the challenge. It all comes down to priorities and time management. If you have time to reach end game, you can find time to raid.

Black Thornにより編集済み: 8/7/2014 7:15:39 PMI play raids all the time, some are 45 mins some are a 1hr and 40 mins or more and I freaking hate elitism and that condescending attitude that usually goes with it. I understand Bungies vision of a raid because it's based on all the big mmorpgs including WOW, Tera, Guild Wars, Lineage ect ect. But they had to change it to matchmaking on raids because too many elite players beat the raids and moved on while most of the casual players just stopped playing before they could get to the endgame because other mmos or other games came out that had been seen as more rewarding. So that forced the mmorpgs to cater to the casual players. Obviously if you are going to pay to play a game to grind for rewards then get the most enjoyment for your dollar. So why buy a game for $60 that will limit your enjoyment? I agree that non matchmaking raids are not for people who don't prepare for it but that's just one reason why people are not going to buy Destiny or on the fence. Today matchmaking is now commonplace in raids in mmorpgs and such but in Destiny it's not so why not come out with a normal raid with matchmaking and hard mode version without one so elites or whoever want to get 6 players together can run it and get those elite rewards? I will buy Destiny but Bungie has made the decision for a lot of people on whether they should buy or not.
