Bungie has said they focused on making the PvE part of Destiny have WAY more longevity than Halo, which only really catered to the hardcore PvP players. Raids are going to be really -blam!-ing hard.

Honestly, most of the casual people whining about having no one to play with strike me as people who aren't even going to get that far. Bungie wants to give people something to do for a long time; raids aren't going to be anywhere close to where everyone starts.
