Why cant the "ghost" voice be a girl?
I would rather my ghost talk as a girl rather than a guy....I prefer a girls voice over a guys.
It'd be cool if they gave you an option for male voice or female

But I think there's two things to consider here with Destiny: 1) Bungie likely spent up their voice acting role for the Ghost on hiring Dinklage, (I personally think it's a good match and makes the character sound and feel natural), which brings me to 2) It is a set character. Whilst the lore shows obviously there are hundreds and thousands of ghosts, which would imply there might be some variation on the voice and character of each individual ghost, the ghosts are all just a piece of the Traveller. Considering that, in my mind I just imagined that the Ghost's voice is actually the voice of the Traveller. The Speaker does say that the Traveller once communicated with the humans but went quiet after the collapse. So yeah, I just imagined that the Ghost is the voice of the Traveller. Makes sense to me.

Because Bungie payed a lot of money (too much, in my opinion) to get a big name actor to do the voice, so much money that they couldn't afford a second actor for Ghost. That's my answer. I'd rather have a female voice for my Ghost, too. Shit, I'd like there to be multiple voice options that you could loot or buy from in-game stores. They could add some later like Titanfall did for the Titan AI voices (and hopefully in the form of a free update like Titanfall did).

7 通の返信Because that isn't the character. Why can't you hear the Speaker as a girl? Why can't you hear the Queen of the Reef as a male? Why can't you hear Master Chief as a girl? Why can't Cortana be male? Because those are the characters.

I think that would be a good idea. I think Peter Dinklage's (hope I spelled it correctly) voice sounds absolutely fine, but it would be nice to have a choice as well. There are plenty of great female voice actresses who have worked on the Dragon Age series that Bungie choose from.

2 通の返信Not sure, the military uses female voices (studies showed that a female voice calmed them more in bad situations) I don’t know who they studied? Sure was not married men LOL

13 通の返信Because the ghost is a character instead of an AI thing that just follows you around. Your ghost is your companion, your friend when you have no friends, it watches your back when no one else is there. Adding options to change your ghosts' voice and personality would turn it from a character into an A.I. And Bungie has always been big on gender equality in their games, before anyone else. They had a policy in Halo where if you were found being sexist, you could get banned. Halo was also one of the first blockbuster games that allowed you to make your character a girl. I'm not against it, but I would much rather have my ghost be a character with a distinct voice, gender, and personality rather than a customizable hodgepodge of voices and personalities I can pick. (Now, there's a slot for ghosts, but I personally think those slots just change the ghost's skin and not his voice or anything.)
