Jumped in on the free beta and after an hour had completed the beta content ... but sadly it is not drawing me in to play anymore. After all the hype over the last 12 months I am left feeling that this is basically Mass Effect meets Spartan Ops. Mass effects represents the Tower area, even the way your avatar runs. The only thing new here was the "social" side - and to be honest there is only so much dancing/pointing can keep your interest. And why so few people? Even Runescape managed more than this. And then the game play ... what happened to the "seemless" world. We still have to pick a destination or WAIT for match-up. What happened to the promise of wandering into zones and seemlessly joining battle? The basic missions remind me of Spartan Ops ... which grows tiresome very quickly. Basically the same thing with a slight change of mission overview (but all comes down to shoot bad guys, pick up ammo). The strikes are the only long term fun in this game ... but again we are talking basic Halo here, no seemless joining of battle (still have to wait for MM session) and game modes are nothing new. If bungie want to try and sell us a new game each year, plus DLC etc ... and the lead up hype about it being completely new ... well the beta fails to show any of this value.
