Glimmer: as rare as a bottle of unicorn tears
It seems like glimmer is very hard to come by in Destiny. I'm not sure if that's by design because of the beta build, but it seems chests (which are disgustingly rare) are the only reliable source for glimmer. I guess I expected mobs to have a glimmer reward in relation to their class and difficulty. Also, quest rewards! No cash for quests? Vanguard marks are great, but they won't pay the bills.

11 通の返信Agree. Also the glimmer you get from dismantling Armour is worse than a gamestop trade in. Buy stuff from the cryptarch for 250g to level it and get like 6g to dismantle it 30 seconds later.

I didn't find it difficult at all. Considering the world is phased for individual loot (ie, if you're meant to have it, you'll be able to see it.). It is VERY simple to farm glimmer in the rocket yards on old Russia... But that being said, I am certain money (in larger sums) will be readily available as your your guardian progresses.

2 通の返信What OMG its Infamy said...i used ether seeds and went from having 100 glimmer to almost 5000 without even realizing it, and ether seeds were seemingly easy to come by...plenty of ways to earn glimmer will be available I'm sure...

This is incredibly inaccurate. The chests spawn about every 90 seconds in one of a few possible locations for each chest. Once opened and you leave the immediate area this starts the cycle again. It just comes down to learning the locations and spawn cycle of them, they also emit a sound to make you aware of a chest being nearby. That said I think dismantling could give you a [i]little[/i] more, it's a bit punishing as is especially for things like ships which as far as I'm aware give you nothing at all yet cost so much to buy.

If you get special consumables, you can earn easy glimmer! When playing the beta, I used LOTS of Ether seeds (ether seeds draw glimmer out of fallen enemies for 10 minutes) and after about each use (1 ether seed) I earned almost 2,000 glimmer in just 10 minutes! And I had like 5 ether seeds. I had dat glimmer flow doe! Lol. But there will be more consumables for every enemy type. The stronger the enemy is, the more glimmer you get out of it.

21 通の返信You have to learn where chests normally spawn. That and grinding strike missions with ether seeds and wax dolls makes a lot of glimmer

4 通の返信Its been said before, but I'll say it again. Play crucible, play just a handful of matches and I was able to buy a new ship. It was almost ludicrous. By the end of the beta I was just buying things because I had glimmer I didn't know what to do with.

You must have not spent much time in explore. Chest runs in almost any zone in old Russia were trivial and the regen times were short. It only took me 1-2 hours to find almost all the chest in all the available zones and I had no problem purchasing whatever I wanted during the beta. Also the crucible seemed like it dealt a pretty good amount of glimmer out in my time spent there

1 返信Maybe you didn't play the open world enough. Because I easily bought a ship and a ton of gear with only 1 day to play the game.

I was able to obtain glimmer easily. I was able to buy two ships, a sparrow, and weapons from the store (I just felt like spending money lol. I also held off on buying that second ship. Lol) I bought the cape, shader (even tho I couldn't use that), and emblem from the iron banner as well.
