I see a lot of people disappointed that content is being stripped from the Xbox version of Destiny while it's added to the Playstation, as well as the preferential treatment for Playstation Alpha and Beta access. I'm disappointed as well. Xbox and Playstation owners pay the same, but don't receive equal products. Sure they're both 1080p and they will look, sound, and play the same. But Playstation gets the lion's share, while Xbox gets the left overs.
It's just business right? Well that's true, business is business and this isn't the first time a game has received exclusive content, nor will it be the last. Bungie doesn't hate Microsoft or it's loyal fans. Bungie didn't betray us and sell out to Sony. Nope, it was all Activision. Corporate Activision sold out Bungie's fans for them.
But Bungie failed to protect their most loyal fans from Activision. Bungie knew who they were getting into bed with when they said they wanted to be free, but then signed on with Call of Duty Factory Slavers. Bungie's legal team must have explained the ins and outs of their contract, but they signed anyway. Activision does this sort of thing all the time, but we expect better of Bungie.
Bungie let it happen, or, at least, if they fought for their fans they flat out failed and now those who have followed Bungie for over a decade are being treated like unwanted guests who've overstayed their welcome.
I'm keeping my preorder for Destiny and I'm looking forward to what little time I'll get with the Beta between work and family. But Bungie has disappointed me and I don't think I'll ever forget that when the chips hit the floor, Bungie didn't have our backs.

1 返信Why are Xbox players so butthurt it's like 5$worth of content you're acting like brats you shouldn't even get the game
-
I don't see why we all blaming it out on bungie for 'betraying' its Xbox fans they make there game, and with them partnered up with Activition meaning that they also call the shots. Look at CoD on Xbox? They give a month content out a month earlier to Xbox rather than Playstation. So maybe Bungie didn't call who gets what and all with Destiny. It's there game and they wanting to give Playstation a taste on what they can do. It's better than them making it an exclusive game to Playstation as they did for Halo to Xbox. They here to make amazing game for all fans in any console. So don't go out and say they let down Xbox fans or moved on...because they have done no such thing.
-
You are also assuming the fact that Bungie didn't approach anyone else to publish Destiny. I would imagine that Activision was just the better choice. They got more than enough money for development, marketing, and plenty of time to make the game they wanted to make. So you're saying they should've gone with a publisher who would have done less for them. So they could make a game that wasn't quite like what they wanted. Even still, the gaming industry the way it is today I can't see any publisher saying no when Sony came knocking and waving money in their face. Activision are no saints, but they are still preferable to EA. Now that would have been bad.

3 通の返信You really think bungie failed their fans? You do know that the extra content on PS is a timed exclusive! On top of that I have lost count on the amount of people who were XBOX Gamers that have jumped ship to PLAYSTATION. Myself is included in that! Its MICROSOFT that has failed it's following which is why most have jumped to Playstation. That is why Microsoft is playing catch up and has had to Uturn practically everything they announced with the XBONE. For a Next Gen console XB1 is very slow. My PS3 loads up faster than the XB1..

2 通の返信I'm still not really understanding this gripe...though I can certainly understand being a bit disgruntled about the fact that PS users are getting preferential treatment, it still doesn't really justify this outrage and attacking of Bungie. CoD series has been giving Xbox users preferential treatment for quite some time now and the Halo series has been an exclusive from the start, console-wise. This is a step towards building a PS fan base and growing their franchise. I've never liked the early releases for CoD, even though I played on both consoles , but this is what fat cats on the business end of gaming want. I'm just glad to see that the game looks gorgeous and doesn't seem to have suffered in quality to meet better margins. Anyways, I don't blame Bungie for wanting to establish their brand upon a new audience by giving a couple of perks, but do admit it could've been done without the advance access to everything. I'm a PS3/Xbox360/PS4 user myself and have friends on both ends either suffering or rejoicing from this, so I have a bit of a neutral view on this even though it doesn't directly affect me for next gen. I wish our enjoyment of the art that is gaming wouldn't be bogged down by money, but it rules the market and is an evil we have to overcome to play the games we love. >.< Just my two cents, no need to decapitate me lol I feel for ya guys...

5 通の返信It's only right that Playstation get the exclusive content. While Xbox had all the Halo's and Playstation users were restricted to the game. Also we Playstation users did not even get Halo. You xbox owners are still receiving the game so you should be happy with that. Now you get to feel the same pain we Playstation users felt. And that whole argument that, "We Xbox users made Halo popular" is compete BS. Halo would be popular on any system and Halo made Xbox Live popular.

6 通の返信Well you know that anyone who has had a playstation for countless years knows that it wasn't just content left out for us, but every single Halo Game bungie made was never given to PS players so we kindly waited for over 3 years to have our shot at a great bungie game. As soon as we get it in our hands, the Xbox players started shouting at us because we got it a little better for once. No Bungie didn't fail you, They were just trying to give back to a community that had been ignored for so long

2 通の返信Tyr-Thanatosにより編集済み: 7/10/2014 2:28:06 AMmy question is, would you have written this if it was the other way around?..most likely not. everyone with a PS3.PS4.XBOX360, and XBOX1 will be playing this game on 9/9/14. the exclusive content is nothing, it will be out leveled early on. has it ever occurred to you that MS got out bid by sony for the exclusive stuff and that if MS really wanted to keep their fans happy that they could have bid more? well they didnt. so if you really want to blame someone over something so petty, you can blame MS just as well
-
[Before this gets started let me say that yes I own a Ps4 and that I own a Xbox 360. I didn't buy the Xbox one because I saw that the Xbox one was more of a entertainment console and not a gameing system and when I heard that Destiny was going to be on the Ps4 with a few extras coupled with the fact that the Ps4 had exclusives I actually wanted. (*cough* I'm looking at you titanfall.) That was the final nail in the coffin and I bought a Ps4 and I'm never looking back.] Now that is out of the way, from what I have read it looks like when the bidding began Microsoft didn't pony up like Activision wanted so, Sony got a little bit extra. As for all this bickering and hate no one and I mean no one can say anything that hasn't already been said so I'll put it to all the xbox players that are still complaining about the Alpha, the Beta, and the TIMED exclusives like this. Either A. Put YOUR money where YOUR mouth Is AND DON'T PAY FOR DESTINY AT ALL and hit Activision ( and sadly bungie) where it Counts, IN THE WALLET or B. Look at what really matters and enjoy Destiny one your Xbox one.

2 通の返信Bungie fans are not affiliated with one brand. Bungie fans have been following them from platform to platform: MAC/PC, XBOX and now PS too.

That's a tough pill to swallow, however I'm not sure I agree with you. Whatever the reason for Bungie promoting their game on PS is their business. At the end of the day, it'll still be in Xbox, the beta will still be on Xbox, and the DLC is timed exclusive! You said you'll still download the beta, and you'll more than likely buy the game! Once you purchase the game, EVERYTHING you typed will be irrelevant. I look at it like this, Xbox fans had 10 years to know, and play Halo. Within those years , Xbox fans have developed a bond with Bungie. Xbox fans does not need to be convinced by what Bungie will bring to the table. Sony fans need to see why Bungie is a great group of developers. I have both PS4 and X1, I will be purchasing Destiny for X1 only because of the amount of friends I have there. Who cares about the partnership Bungie has with Sony! Enjoy the game!!!

Thanks for bolding your main points. Helped a lot. So...you blame Activision for this..alright, I can dig that. But, I see it as both Playstation and Xbox both ordering a steak, but Playstation gets extra sprinkles on top and his appetizer comes first cause his parents paid for it. I literally don't care if there's actually any bad blood between Microsoft and Bungie. But...it does seem kinda weird that Microsoft sat back during all of this. I mean, if they truly wanted Destiny to be one of their selling points, I highly doubt they wouldn't have worked something out with Activision. I mean, I doubt they'd say no to more money right?

3 通の返信Just wanted to say I liked your post and agree with everything you've said. I would just add that it's pretty depressing that elitist PlayStation owners are trying to rob Xbox owners even of their right to speak up and express their disappointment. I think the blow of exclusivity would be lessened if Bungie just wrote a post on the issue. Not even an apology, just acknowledging that this has happened (while we're on this note, if they could explain why Marty O'Donell was let go that would be greatly appreciated too). What annoys me the most is that some PlayStation owners are denying the sellout completely. It's all "they need more time to test the PlayStation versions 'cause they've never made a PlayStation game before" or "they're using the exclusives to attract PlayStation customers as they already have their Xbox fans". Which as we both know (and I struggle to believe that they don't know) is complete BS. But most of all, like you said, the real letdown is the lack of equality, that Bungie has allowed themselves to alienate a part of their community and allowed such a massive rift to form between the Xbox camp and the PlayStation camp (or at least making it easier for aggressors on each side to get under the skin of their targets). Here's hoping we still enjoy the beta and the final release.

20 通の返信TrollingEpicallyにより編集済み: 7/10/2014 2:14:58 AMI'm going to break this down for you. I know you wouldn't understand it any other way. "I see a lot of people disappointed that content is being stripped from the Xbox version of Destiny while it's added to the Playstation" Content is not being stripped from the base game. Exclusive content is simply offered as DLC for Playstation. "As well as the preferential treatment for Playstation Alpha and Beta access" You're missing out on a couple days of pre-game testing. Stop crying. "Xbox and Playstation owners pay the same, but don't receive equal products" So I assume you oppose games such as Evolve and CoD then. "But Playstation gets the lion's share, while Xbox gets the left overs." If by "lion's share" you mean the full game with a bit of extra DLC content, and by "leftovers" you mean the full game, then yes your statement is accurate. "Bungie doesn't hate Microsoft or it's loyal fans. Bungie didn't betray us and sell out to Sony. Nope, it was all Activision. Corporate Activision sold out Bungie's fans for them." You are correct with your first statement. Bungie loves it's fans. Also, Activision didn't "sell you out". I don't know if you can tell, but 500 million to build, market, and continue to support a game is a hell of a lot of money. Activision got a deal with Sony to cover some of the cost off, and now the game is marketed primarily on the Playstation 4 and will receive some extra DLC content. Third paragraph is garbage and doesn't contain anything remotely relevant, so I'm not going to waste time ripping it apart. "Bungie let it happen, or, at least, if they fought for their fans they flat out failed" Do you want to know why Bungie let this "atrocity" happen? It's because Activision is allowing them to make the game they want to make in a way they prefer to make it instead of Microsoft who had too tight of a grasp on Bungie. A publisher that gives said developer that freedom would fairly expect to at least control marketing, therefore preventing Bungie from making any decisions regarding this. "Now those who have followed Bungie for over a decade are being treated like unwanted guests who've overstayed their welcome." Are you now? Playstation gets bonus content and Destiny is marketed on Sony consoles and now you are "unwanted". I don't think so. Business is business, stop crying. "But Bungie has disappointed me and I don't think I'll ever forget that when the chips hit the floor, Bungie didn't have our backs." You don't have all the minor extra content Playstation has and now you've been forgotten by Bungie? Absurd! Bungie did not fail its fans, you failed yourselves. Bungie said from the start Destiny would be better on Playstation, yet you chose to purchase an Xbox. I applaud your decision, and understand there were many factors in making that decision. However, you chose whatever factors (be it friends, games, etc.) over the best Destiny experience, therefore you have no right to complain. You can be disappointed, I would be too, it's human nature. but don't come on these forums crying about how Bungie betrayed/failed you and how unfair/unanticipated this was.

Ingramにより編集済み: 7/12/2014 2:12:34 AMAny real fan of Bungie followed them over to PS4. I was right there with the rest of you for Halo, but when I found out Bungie was making Destiny and as far as I knew, it was only gonna be for the PS4. I switched over in a heart beat. I had no problem switching over. If you weren't going to switch over, why complain now? We always knew Playstation was going to get more. Have you even seen Xbox-one gameplay yet? I haven't.
-
Hey well done on getting your voice out there and doing it in a respectful way, and one that didn't go attacking Playstation. I respect you for that. And to all of those being like "oh yeah...." Get out that's not fair
-
CharlieAlphaSeveにより編集済み: 7/11/2014 9:59:47 AMPS aren't getting much more. The only thing that we all should be complaining about is the year long wait for DLC. Other than the DLC, its quite fair (unless you are bothered about playing the game one month before release)

Bungie did a great job of keeping that kind of local favorite restaurant kind of love in their game and community for a long time. But now they've finally become a restaurant chain. Quality is still there, but the love is gone.
